they are giving their young QB the tools to be successful. the O-line in Atlanta is very good. likely top 5 They have a top TE and a top young WR. The hope is that their young QB will develop into a player. it may be too early to pass judgement on this but the early returns are not great. We were talking like this about Jaylan hurts not too long ago and look what happened. the real issue with QB's is its not a straight line development curve. you jump forward, then slip back and jump forward again. Sometimes you need to be patient. all I know is that these good receivers (london, Pitts) are not fulfilling their potential because of deficiencies at QB right now. and until those deficiencies are resolved, these guys will continue to underperform. so either the QB needs to improve or he needs to be replaced. I suspect a decision wont be made until closer to the end of this year or possibly sometime next year. in the interim, you will need to be patient.

he just got dropped in one of my leagues. I do think Brown should be rostered but you probably dont wanna start him unless you actually dont have better options. once Kyler Murray returns he should put up solid stats. problem is you likely need to wait a few weeks to get to that point. its a judgement call. I'd keep an eye on the Kyler murray situation. if it is looking like hes gone beyond week 8 or 9 you may want to look at dropping Brown if hes not producing. I'd give it another week or so before doing that if possible. but if someone you really like is on the wire you may want to think about it.

Yikes. the offer is reasonably fair. Assuming Kupp misses only 4 games. but it is also possible he misses 5 or 6 but some reports I saw earlier suggested he could be out a while (whatever that means). if WR is a position of serious need, you may want to consider this, but in the end you are creating a weakness at QB in return for shoring up the WR position. its like robbing peter to pay paul. I have somewhat stopped paying attention to the drama that is the Kupp injury situation as I own zero shares in that mess. but I will say this.... if it looks like Kupp could miss more than 5 or 6 games, this deal may not be worth it even if Kupp returns and plays well (which is not by any means guaranteed) I would suggest you do whatever research you can to see if you can find any clue as to timelines for recovery. if you dont have a reasonable timeline, this is a very dangerous move to make. like I said.... if it looks like more than 5 or 6 games, you probably want no part of this.

its a reasonably fair deal to be honest. Aiyuk is worth more than Evans (in my opinion) Andrews is worth more than Kittle (in my opinion) its mostly a matter of preference and depending on the rest of the roster you may or may not want to do this trade.

Puca is a nice talent and probably a safer pickup. He is worth picking up for sure but so is K williams. RB is a harder position to fill and you have a need at the position, so I'd put in a priority wire pick for williams.

I wouldnt drop Cooks, but Toney is a guy I"ve started to sour on. seeing that many drops in one game has made me rethink whether this guy is a good fantasy investment. Normally I'd suggest waiting until after week 2 before dropping Toney but I think Nacua is the real deal and if you wanna get him you need to move now. Toney is the guy to drop. Cooks has more value than he does right now. He didnt put up numbers in week 1 but thats because the Dallas game was over by the time you were halfway into the second quarter of that game. so there was no need to throw the football. but from what I saw Cooks was getting open on most of his routes and for me this bodes well for the rest of the season. I think dropping him would be a mistake.

I think sports talk radio needs to wise up. The Patriots are a tough week 1 opponent with a good defense. the shortened pre season gives the advantage to the defense in week 1 and it showed. lots of games were defensive struggles in week 1 and I think the offense did just fine against these guys. More importantly, they got the win. thats what counts.

RB are next to impossible to acquire via trade during the regular season due to the relative scarcity of the position. as more players get injured through the course of the year, the asking price for a healthy RB will go up. you have some depth at RB but not good depth. Hunt will likely be relevant but likely not until the second half of the season. in the interim, you need someone. I dont mind moving lockett. you have good enough depth at WR. Waddle, Aiyuk are top notch. Kirk is solid depth. Nacua could be a home run but its too early to say for sure yet. I'd make the deal.

true. this is 100% correct. the problem isnt the player. the problem is the team, the offense, and the QB. (mostly the QB) when you have a QB who runs more than he throws, the pass catchers on the team have subpar numbers. that's just the way it is. That said, it will likely take some time until this team is able to reload with a new QB that will be able to help this situation improve. so Kyle Pitts is a long hold in a dynasty format, but wasnt an ideal selection in redraft for the reasons mentioned above.

well, without looking at the roster I have to believe there is someone more appropriate to drop than Pacheco. Pacheco is a legit RB2. Allgeier could be too but the uncertainty around his value is a lot larger and I think he has a lower floor due to the presence of Bijan. ideally a depth WR would likely be a better drop just due to the relative scarcity of RB's.

not sure what the deal was with Swift. I was in the camp that figured they brought him in to start or share a backfield with Penny. it wasnt until I did a deeper dive that I was able to figure out how we got to this point and I dont know that I even have the full story. but we have pieced together enough that we sort of know who the players to watch are..... Gainwell, and Possibly Swift. the fact that Penny was a healthy scratch makes me think hes not likely their preference.
-
I wouldnt be dropping Pacheco. allgeier is a declining asset. as Bijan learns more about the game and the offense Allgeier's snap count will decline over time.
-
honestly a person on the street might be viewed as just as good at this point. you cant be putting the ball on the ground when you handle it that often. so if Moss is anywhere close to ready they will use him
-
I think people assumed when they brought in Penny that they were telling him to take a seat. but reports I saw suggest the team has really loved this guy going back to last year. the deceiving part is that they never ramped up his playing time last year so the optics made it look like he was a JAG. only way to know better would be to watch him play or watch the practices. sadly his lack of playing time made it hard to figure out what the team had there and not a lot of people sit in on the practices other than maybe media and most of them wont know the difference between a good practice and a bad one. Thats why this is surprising a lot of people. Not a lot of info out there from which to formulate a good opinon.

Yeah, surgery is booked. time to drop him

I enjoyed this article as well. wonder if it was replaced with working the wire https://www.fftoday.com/articles/tinelli/23_wire_wk2.html

hes a nice talent, but as long as ekeler is starting he will be limited. obviously you think Ekeler will miss time and if thats how you feel, he should be on your team. I do think there is an outside chance this could become a committee(which is good for Kelley). it sounds like the coach wants to run the ball a lot more. the guy should definitely be rostered. I just dont know that hes a league winner unless Ekeler misses significant time as ekeler is on the field an awful lot which doesnt necessarily bode well for Kelley's time on the field.

hey with FAAB dollars, how much should we expect most top FA picks to cost? most of the leagues I've played in it has varied from $30 to $70. how has it been for all of you?
-
they say Zack Moss may be healthy enough to start week 2 for the colts. if you are really hurting at RB he may get enough reps to be worth the waiver wire pickup. good news is... he wont break the bank. I bet you dont have to spend more than $1 of your FAAB monies to get him. I fully acknowledge there are likely 3 or 4 higher ranked RB's on the free agent list for your league, but if you happen to lose out on all of them, he should be a nice backup plan

bang on. honestly in looking at the scouting report, it looks like the report suggests hes high in talent but ran a very limited route tree in college so he was a bit of an unknown. thats why he fell so far in the draft. the important thing is the talent was there. McVay is a very good teacher and I think what happened here is they took a kid who was high on talent and low on polish, and taught him a few things and now hes a lot closer to being a finished product. I am sure there are still some flaws in his game that we have not yet noticed or seen, but hes good enough to play at this level now. Thats what we are seeing. as I got worms just said, he is the only one on the list that could potentially be special. if taking a flyer on a guy who may sit on your bench, why not swing for the fences. the guy who just gets 60 yards a game along with the occasional TD is good enough to be rostered but he likely sits on your bench all year in case someone better gets hurt. Puka on the other hand actually could be the someone better you've been looking for.
-
until he gets hurt. he should produce QB1 results against all but the toughest opponents. my worry is he gets concussed at some point and you need to play someone different. but if hes on your team, you ride that horse until it doesnt go anymore.
-
yeah, you dont wanna drop london. hes a top talent. only reason he hasnt lit it up is because his QB is not very good. This situation will resolve itself in the sense that either the QB will improve and his numbers will get better, or the QB wont improve and will get replaced.
-
I'm sure that there is. but I doubt we will ever hear about it.
-
hes not on my wire. someone actually drafted him in my league. Nice thought though. I would think hed be available in some leagues.

no I checked, there were some reports that Penny was on the outs and Gainwell was the guy. I thought like you did until someone (I think on this board) clued me in. once I looked into it the signs were there. this did not come out of the blue.
