I'm sure that there is. but I doubt we will ever hear about it.

hes not on my wire. someone actually drafted him in my league. Nice thought though. I would think hed be available in some leagues.
-
no I checked, there were some reports that Penny was on the outs and Gainwell was the guy. I thought like you did until someone (I think on this board) clued me in. once I looked into it the signs were there. this did not come out of the blue.

I am not sure what it is. McVay does not seem to like him a whole lot. not sure if its the little things such as blocking he does not like but all of last year it seemed he was in the doghouse. now, through some sources I have, it sounds like the Rams have liked this Williams kid right from the early days of camp. Now this happens and I have to think there may be some substance to this. I was the one suggesting akers was a good pickup based on what he did at the end of last year, but now I see this game and Williams gets the carries while the game was in doubt. Akers only gets mop up duty after the game was clearly over. who had the more important carries? clearly they trust the kid. what is a bit puzzling is that Akers is still listed as the #1 on the depth chart. this leads me to one of two possible conclusions: 1) Akers maybe has an undeclared injury that is affecting him and he actually is the #1. 2) Williams is the starter and McVay is being a bit sneaky about it to make it look like this is a shared backfield when in fact, it isnt. I suppose there is the possibility that a third option exists.... it is possible the Rams didnt forsee this outcome and the plan was to save Akers for the 4th quarter to squeeze out a tight game which ended up not being close. in the end, Williams I think is here to stay. for me its a question of how many carries he gets. Mcvay does not have a history of going with a committee at RB, which leads me to dismiss the possible third option. and Akers looked pretty good when he did run so I dont think #1 is the answer. it just happens that Williams looked better which brings me back to option 2.

good luck. I'm doing the opposite, but I need a RB due to dobbins injury. so my order is more need based. here is hoping we all get what we want/need on this weeks FAAB cycle.

hes got talent, but is currently listed as the #3 there behind Olave and Michael Thomas. not very many WR3's are productive to a point where it makes sense to roster them. but given Thomas recent health, he may be a nice stash in deeper leagues or in dynasty leagues. in week 1 Thomas and Olave got most of the looks (10 and 8 respectively) with Shahid getting 5 catches on 6 looks and had himself a nice day. that said, if shahid continues to catch at this rate, maybe he eventually becomes the WR2. but I think Thomas will get all the opportunities possible to see if he can recapture the form he had when he was the #1 WR in all of pro football. if he overtakes him it will be a slow process.

williams is my first choice Gainwell is my second choice (at least among those available on the wire in my leagues)

I dont mind this option. Kyren isnt a lock to continue. rams still have Akers top of the depth chart (officially) but I do think he looked really good. Puka is actually a lower risk pickup. his scouting reports and the camp reports I looked at suggested he would likely play a significant role. I just didnt think it would happen this early in the year. but now that the cat is out of the bag, you gotta jump or let someone else have him. for me what it comes down to is whether you need a RB or a WR more. if you are more needy at RB then Kyren is your guy. if you are more needy at WR, Puka is your guy. Gus edwards is an option too but I think he has a higher floor and a lower ceiling than Kyren does. so whether you pick him ahead of Kyren is mostly a matter of risk preference. Edit- I never realized Kyren was taken, so its gus if you need a RB. sorry. should have read all the replies before replying

at this point an Achilles and a Torn ACL, this may be enough to say its a better than average chance he is done. he may come back to play, but I dont know that he will ever be the player he was meant to be due to these terrible injuries.
-
honestly it makes more sense for you to pick him up and hold both until you know who the back is to own in LA. you know whoever gets the bulk of the work will be fantasy worthy. you can always ditch whoever is appropriate in 2 or 3 games when you know the answer to the question of who will play going forward.

well, the jets did a great job of figuring out how to contain Allen and stop him from running with the ball. whenever it looked like he was gonna break the containment someone stepped up to stop that from happening or to limit the gain. other than a couple bad passes (or great plays on D) Allen looked like he was able to move the ball fairly well for most of the game. it was the INT's that killed his value and killed the drives. but arguably that happens a lot when a top QB has a bad game. but the defense did do a good job of keeping his game fairly one dimensional. they kept him in the pocket and sacked him a few times to keep him a bit off balance. It was a pretty impressive performance. I do think the Jets D may be a good candidate for pickup in fantasy if they are not already owned by someone. They looked pretty good

a lot of people thought Swift would be the actual starter. Clearly that didnt happen. and I had heard that there was a chance Gainwell would get the start. I just wasnt 100% believing that. I had planned to avoid this backfield, but now with Dobbins hurt I'm forced to look at them. If I cant get Williams from the Rams, hes my second choice. I'm putting out waiver claims on both via FAAB. unfortunately there is risk with both. Akers could actually still be the starter in LA. hes still listed as #1 on the depth chart there. Gainwell could actually just be leading a committee or may be part of a committee where the lead changes from game to game (frustrating) sadly no other good candidates exist on the wire in my league so this is more or less it.

yeah, but sometimes on any given sunday anything can (and does) happen. if these same teams were to play tomorrow, I'd still put my money on Josh Allen. the number of actual bad games over the last 2 years you can count on one hand and probably wont even use up all your fingers. There is a reason hes a top 2 fantasy football QB. He had a bad game. and I apologize for the way it turned out but I dont apologize for the prediction. I think it was based on sound judgement. I think its one of those cases where the fantasy gods decided to punish you and there was not a thing you could do to change it. I fully agree Lawrence is a good player, but for me it was never about that. Josh Allen has been THAT good. just not yesterday..... for whatever reason.

I assumed so by the presence of the s at the end, but just wanted to clarify.
-
worth noting with Williams, its still a buyer bewere thing. Akers is still listed as the official starter even though williams got the important carries while the game outcome was still in doubt. Akers carries were mostly garbage time carries. so I do think Williams is the back to own, but given where the depth charts still have him listed I wouldnt count on this 100%

wilsons stats are better without Zach wilson at QB than they were with him in there. so I dont think I'm out of line thinking his numbers will drop some. I'd say hes no longer a WR1. hes probably a high end WR3 or low end WR2 now. so that makes this trade somewhat reasonable if you can hold the fort until Kupp is ready to return. but if you are not competitive for the 4-5 weeks it may take for Kupp to return this trade then hurts you. for that reason it is a judgement call in your case I think it is likely worth the risk
-
is that Cooks from the Cowboys? if it is, I noted he was open on a fair number of the routes he was running. probably would have put up solid numbers if Prescott actually had a need to throw the football. (as the Defense stole the show all he literally needed to do was hand the ball off and not fumble it) based on what I saw, I wouldnt be inclined to drop him. Not yet anyhow. that said, I'm busy at work today, so I dont really have the time to dig into your roster to figure out who your best drop would be. all I'm saying is to think twice about dropping Cooks.
-
I am thinking of grabbing Gainwell to be my #3 RB as one of my RB's is now injured (thanks Dobbins) the usage in week 1 would suggest he should be rostered
-
tough call. how is the rest of your team? in the end you need to be able to play with a dead spot on your roster for 4 to 6 weeks. I guess you can trade for Kupp and stream top WR options for a couple weeks. but if you think you will still be in the hunt when Kupp returns at that point you will be happy to have him.
-
talent wise Stafford is the best. but you could (in theory) stream all these guys. Stafford plays San Fran this week and that is a pretty good defense (although I thought Seattle had a pretty good D too and look what happened there) Packers play the Saints who also have an underrated Defense but not as tough as I think the 49ers have. I might still go with Love, but you should think about Stafford. if that O line can protect him I do think Stafford can still get it done.
-
sorry man. I could not have predicted this meltdown from a guy who has historically been very consistent.
-
well, the O line wasnt supposed to be very good. so I was expecting lots of QB pressure. If I was the DC that would have been my strategy. Clearly that never happened if what you say is true.
-
Purdy or Love looks good. The San Fran offense looked real good week 1. Maybe Purdy is the choice.

so far, they are undefeated. Nothing to see here.
