hes looked real good on this drive. LaPorta good block on his TD scamper too.
-
another drop. lots of butter fingers today
-
nice catch and run by Noah Gray there
-
I know I've missed the first half but so far the detroit O has looked pretty good at times. just not consistent enough.
-
well, he missed nearly all of training camp with the injury. I wasnt expecting him to be in tune with the offense. but the drops are disappointing
-
surprised they are not going to Noah Gray, hes good at finding the soft spot in a zone. I'd argue its his best skill as a receiver
-
I'd at least wait until the offense is together operating as it should be. when a guy like Kelce is missing lots of things wont go the way they should. at the very least I'd say give it a week.
-
I missed the first half due to some volunteer committments that conflicted with the first half. I noticed the pass coverage for the lions is better than I've seen it look for a while. though I only saw a couple series so far. any thoughts?

I will fully admit the sample size I saw with Howell playing against pros was small, but I wasnt impressed. i have not seen him in pre season so I cannot say if his play has improved. I fully admit with the small sample size my eye test could have failed me. (it happens sometimes if you catch someone on a bad day) but I dont deny Dotson's talent is top notch. it is.
-
I love the Dotson talent. this isnt a slight against him. I dont believe in Howell. he may have a cannon but I am not sold on him. you need to hit the target for the cannon to have value.
-
Juju is passable, but not ideal probably consistent WR3 numbers. But I'd rather have Nico for sure. Dotson.... hard to say. he should be better than last year and I think he will be, but I'd temper expectations. His team is also a train wreck.
-
I would also take the deal. I think Carr will be really good this year.
-
Sensible strategy. no point bailing on Watson until you are sure his replacement can play.
-
Yeah Tennessee has a solid run d and I think their offense will be improved. if Tennessee gets out in front, it could be a slow day for Jamal. I dont mind Pacheco as a play. Lions D doesnt have a lot of teeth. White is a decent matchup play but if Minny gets ahead early the game script may work against him too. Naj vs SF. yuck. Naj is probably the best talent here, but I dont like the matchup. That said, I like him better than White or Williams I guess I'd go Pacheco and Naj in the end, but my confidence in Naj isnt super high due to the matchup and the STeelers subpar line.

you could probably make this argument about any running QB1 out there. but hes pretty reliable as a QB1. possibly the best fantasy QB in the NFL this year. for me its him, Mahomes, or Herbert. none of these guys should be benched for any reason other than injury. and I"m not seeing an injury that would prevent him from running or throwing.

this is the first Lions coach I've seen in a long time who has shown signs that he may actually know what hes doing.
-
Pierce for sure.

Should I just lean into it? Trade philosophy question

oops, my bad. as for RB your initial comment made me think you were hurting at RB. its a fair deal. you are getting more proven performers for an unproven guy. I do like Pickens. but how high he rises really depends on how far his QB rises. I do think this tips the scale to make me say dont make the deal. if you are in the same place, you can ask him if hes willing to sweeten the offer a bit? all he can do is say no. -
I know Lawrence is a stud in waiting. but hes not quite there (though that could change this year I admit). and Allen has proven himself to be more or less matchup proof. if you invested the kind of draft capital you did to get this stud QB you dont sit him on the bench. Play your stud. (Allen) unless hes hurt you play him.
-
agreed. only reason you keep the old guy is if you think he performs better this year AND you think you have a good chance to win it all. at that point you throw in all your chips and play to win.
-
good info. thanks
-
I also like Cousins better. hes consistently a low end to mid range QB1. watson has a lower floor and higher ceiling but hes a bit of a gamble. you dont know what you are gonna get

assuming this is a redraft league..... Kelce is likely a risky play on week 1. hes injured, and may or may not play. Pickens is a young QB with some upside. likely a mid to low end QB2. Higbee is a solid backup TE or low end starter at TE. other than week 1 (and possibly week 2 if Kelce is slow to recover) you wont start Higbee other than the bye week. you are getting a very good TE in Waller along with a stud in Kupp (who is injured) and Jeudy who likely is a starter for your team. Archane is a bit of a lotto ticket in redraft. if this was a keeper/dynasty league I'd be more careful about trading him away. if all players are fully healthy you'd be dumb not to make this move. it still wont solve your RB issues. Kupp likely is missing at least a handful of games. possibly more. Jeudy actually looks like he might play week 1. he returned to practice here today or yesterday but he could still possibly miss week 1. Waller and Jeudy combined is probably close to fair value for Kelce. the rest of your guys are basically a throw in and you get Kupp who, once he returns is an impact player. I think I'd do the deal in redraft. -
I had both of them ranked very close to each other. close enough that the main reason you would select one over the other is personal preference. you may look deeper to find reasons to draft one over the other..... for example, Love is effectively playing his rookie season as a starter this year. while picket actually has been through his rookie season as a starter. I do think Pickett has better WR to work with now, so that might make him the better play this year. but in an auction 4$ will actually get you one solid player or 2 high upside players late in the draft. (which may give you benefits elsewhere to make up for the cash difference) so like White Wonder said... you are probably fine.
-
he will break some long ones. but you are right he probably gets 1 or 2 less TD and less work on the ground game but he will also probably catch more balls than what they predict. in the end I still think its close to being a wash.
