Who are your top value picks?

the issue with him will be wins and losses. fantasy points wise he should be ok. the real risk is if he gets benched

    Where is Bijan Robinson drafted?

in our keeper league auction he went for the most money.

Who are your top value picks?

this is the only explanation I can think of. but this is a case for the first year or so he will be a far better fantasy QB than he will be an actual QB. if he gets 80-100 yards a game, that will make up for his lack of passing. a stat line of 200 yards passing with 1 TD combined with 60-90 yards rushing and possibly 1 rushing TD (hit or miss on the TD) should be what you expect from this guy

Who are your top value picks?

I dont know.... Aaron Rodgers sat and learned. he turned out fine. lots of teams sit their rookie for half the season before throwing them to the wolves. its not an unprecedented move. This is supposed to be a starting QB who will lead your team for the next decade. You would hope they'd be tough enough that this would not shatter their confidence. you know what would shatter their confidence more? having defenses have their way on the field while your QB is drowning. just food for your thoughts. this is why I think its important to wait until the QB is actually ready before throwing them in there. if they are not ready, it can be rough.

honestly its a know your league thing to some extent but the rules give a substantial benefit to those taking QB early and often. without knowing more about the specifics of your league its hard to be more specific. as mentioned: the QB demand in a 12 team league will by far be greater than it is for a 10 team league. this is because there is enough starting QB's for each team to roster 2 and a handful of teams to roster 3 (assuming the QB are equally distributed) but the bottom 3 or 4 starting QB may not finish the season as starters on their team. so in reality if equally distributed there are likely enough QB for everyone to have two reliable QB's and maybe one or two others will get a third QB. some of those bottom of the barrel 3rd QBs wont be projected to score more than your top RB and WR on the board, so you have to watch to see if there is still an advantage to you to pick one. after that there are only backups. so if you only superflex out 1 QB in a 10 team league there is wiggle room in terms of taking the early QBs. but not likely in a 12 team league unless you draft early and its a serpentine draft. in that scenario, you could probably get away with drafting a QB first round and then you can get the top RB or WR late in round 2 and then take another QB early in round 3. in a 12 team league I dont think you can get away with that.

    Toney Knee surgery

Chiefs WR Kadarius Toney has knee surgery and faces several weeks out but is 'determined' to make first game of new NFL season on Sept. 7 | Daily Mail Online they say he will be back by week 1 but I am skeptical

    Backup Superflex Question

it was never mentioned that Love is an option, but he is likely of comparable value to pickett. possibly more value but hes a bit of an unknown commodity at this point. but I like that option as well

    Backup Superflex Question

I'd go pickett of the players mentioned. late last season he showed signs of being a player. thing about the tua situation is you wanna cover all the bases. extra insurance is likely a good thing in your situation. White mike is also an option but hes not actually a starter so he has value to you but less value to everyone else so you can likely wait to the end to get him as a 4th QB but I'd take picket at his ADP (even a little earlier if you wanna make sure you get him) and then grab mike white in the last or second to last round.

    Toney Knee surgery

well, I got Toney for $2 in my auction league. at that price I think hes well worth the risk for a potential WR1

Who are your top value picks?

well, in case you didnt notice Penny wasnt THAT good. he has shown flashes but nothing sustained. it was rumoured he was gonna be cut in his new home. Walker is at another level. Hes a really good player. that said, I think the cat is out of the bag. at my auction there was a bidding war for his services. as its a 12 team keeper league there were 10 kept RB's but he and Bijan got the 2 highest auction values. and no other RB was even close. That said this league is pretty competitive with a lot of astute gm's. it wont be like that across the board.

yes, I forgot to mention this part. but it was never specified how many teams are out there. in a 10 teamer this plays out significantly different than a 12 teamer because of the limited number of starting QB.

    Chubb?

If I had Chubb (or any other RB)I'd be happy with that kind of year.

    July Mock (PPR) Strategy analysis

Axe Elf has been quiet of late to be honest. either way I find our mocks are good in the sense there is some bragging rights to be had if you got the best team. Personlly I like testing myself against good competition. I learned a number of things by participating and I do think there is lots to learn by observing as well. but its not for everyone. some see value in Mocks. some do not but if you dont like it, you dont have to read the thread. thats the advantage of having a thread name. then you dont have to engage if you dont like whats come out of the thread.

Who are your top value picks?

I meant it is similar in that people rarely are fully healed in 12 months. I avoided this guy like the plague last year for the very reason you just mentioned. I"m aware of the stats. this seems to be different. its hard to say he cant perform when he put up an 1100 yard season the very year after his surgery. granted he could be a half step slower than he was prior to the injury, but he was REALLY effing fast and still looked fast in the one game I watched. so its really tough to use the Achilles as a reason to avoid. if the injury still affects him, it did last year too. another year removed from the injury this should be better. the one thing I will say is in keeper/dynasty his value should be down because I do think this still shortens his career. he will likely be more prone to soft tissue injures (just like the aftermath of an ACL injury) its food for thought. if the ADP matched fftodays ranking at 16 I would have targeted him all day long. but at 10, its iffy. likely there is still value there but I'd prefer to target a guy like Kenneth Walker.

    Chubb?

for him its a volume thing. he gets tons of carries, 1200-1500 yards and lots of TD. pretty reliably between 8 and 12 TD. and he does this playing for the Browns with a few games having negative game scripts. if Desean Watson can turn this team into a playoff team, the upside for Chubb is very high. comparable to Derek Henry of a couple years back. can you imagine his stats if the team went 13-4 and he got all kinds of garbage time carries late in the game against tired Defenses? I salivate at that. that said, I am not 100% sold on Watson. he will for sure be better than he was last year. Not sure he will ever live up to that massive contract the Browns gave him. but we are about to find out. last year he shook off the rust. This year he needs to perform.

Who are your top value picks?

ok I'm about to go on the road. got a 3 hour drive to make it on time for my next auction. I'd counter with this: an Achilles is very much like an ACL injury. you can come back in 12 months but you are not likely 100% until the 18 or 20 month mark. it is also possible the team didnt utilize his full skillset last year for this very reason. I think he has a positive TD regression this year. Not a huge one but I think he gets more TD than last year. The other thing to consider is this team is just starting to win. first half of last year they were not very good and second half they were bordering on very good. the RB stats tend to indicate how the team is doing as a whole. there are exceptions but RB's on losing teams typically dont do as well. To this end, I think there is some upside here. that said, I was looking at FFtoday rankings (I think he was ranked #16 or something)and assumed hes undervalued. I didnt bother to check his ADP and I should have. at an ADP of RB10 hes not as undervalued as I thought. so at that ADP, hes probably pretty close to where he should be. so accept my apologies. I punched in a quick list and didnt do as much due diligence as I should have for the guy at the top of the list.

Who are your top value picks?

my all value team. QB Rodgers/Goff and Love/purdy/Carr as QB2 (if needed) RB Walker, Etienne, Pierce, Dobbins, Akers, Pacheco (lots of value at RB but you will likely only be able to get 2-3 of these) WR Hopkins, Cooks, Ridley (though ADP has fallen so not as good a value as he was early in the year), Courtland Sutton, Aiyuk, Evans, Jakobi Meyers TE Higbee, Juwan Johnson, LaPorta, Dulcich, Everett

What to make of the Colts backfield?

from the NFL scouting profile- Evan Hull Compact, muscular runner with below-average explosiveness but decent downhill power. Hull’s lack of suddenness and foot quickness to quickly get in and out of cuts allows defenders to track him down. He needs to play with as much downhill movement as possible, so he will need a quality offensive line in front of him to succeed. He’s a very capable route-runner and pass-catcher but he needs to improve in pass protection for consideration as a third-down option. Hull might need the perfect team fit to stick around on a roster long-term. further to this: scouting report says he needs a quality O line in front of him to succeed- Check good route runner - check\ I dont know how hes doing on the pass pro thing but the checkmarks are starting to line up for this kid. He could actually be the early down option with the current situation being what it is..... any Indy Homers able to chime in on this?

    Late round Tight Ends

Juwan Johnson- NO ADP 188 overall with terrible QB play he got 500 yards in 16 games played last year. with Carr, a QB who likes to use his TE's? this guy may actually have an outside chance to be a sneaky top 12 play. in any format where you draft more than one TE I'd strongly consider him. in all likelihood he goes undrafted in a lot of formats. so keep a close watch on him. if he flashes early and you are not happy with your current TE, he may be a good candidate for a pickup.

Lets put it this way. he wouldnt be seeing a specialist if he thought the recovery was gonna be just a week or two.

You'll have to excuse WeePaws. hes old and scenile and sometimes goof up in this way. just joking of course. all kidding aside, I agree this was likely just a typo.

    WR Ranks

you hit the Nail on the head. I was thinking this when this first become an issue. and now, a new development: https://www.nfl.com/news/rams-wr-cooper-kupp-visiting-body-specialist-in-minnesota-to-further-understand- Kupp is visiting a specialist. Not a good sign. to me, when I see a report like this, it usually means this thing is going to linger more than just a game or two into the regular season. there are two ways this can play out: 1) he plays but it affects his game. 2) he doesnt play for the first couple games. in some respects option 1 is worse because then you start a guy who likely doesnt perform up to the level he should. but on the off chance he can play effectively with the injury you do not wanna miss out.
  25. Ray_T

    Chubb?

see this situation you cited. if its already a pass play, hes not taking away from Chubb. (unless the pass was supposed to be to him I suppose) but the designed Runs and RPO's where the QB runs with it..... those will take away from some of his carries..... at least somewhat
