I have a fantastic idea for you all. Ask me about your bets. Whatever I say. Do the opposite.

To be fair. I am. haha. JK I actually misread his status yesterday.

The Bears have the worst coaching I've ever seen.

I was very impressed in his last 2 games though. Not gonna lie. If he can read coverages along with being that fast he would be a beast. He just has not shown this form at all in his career. I do not like to see anyone in the division other than the lions win and I was literally betting on the bears to lose last night. Thought it was gonna be a cakewalk for Was. I literally knew on the opening drive I was fuckedd. I do not think I have ever seen him get the ball out that fast or stand in the pocket that well. They were against apparently terrible Ds but man he more than passed the eye test with a different game script than he had for the first few -

As a lions fan. I hope this showed the bear brass that he can be a franchise qb and sign him to a 5 year 200 million dollar contract. -
Gibbs is doubtful now too. Montgomery could handle 30 touches.
-
This is the time williams needs to flash. I understand it is his first game back but dammitt I want to see what he can do. The lions are even more likely to lean on Montgomery this week which should allow him to take the top off on play action 2-3 times this game. I bet the lions on the under this week. They are going to score but it will probably be low scoring with carolina struggling to score tds at all.

It without a doubt harms Biden more. I would bet that Biden offers RFKjr a cabinet post to drop out. Just like he did with Mayor Pete. -

If they are going to give it to him he has to take it. I can't imagine them playing that same D next time around. It looked like a focking prevent. -

Lance is not in the last year of his rookie contract which fields would be. The bears may pick up his 5th year option but only as a fill in for the Qb they are going to draft this year. It would make literally no sense for any team to trade for Fields knowing that he is A. not a good QB and B. the bears are going to have to move on from him either this year or next year with his progress. Look. I feel you. You want to get SOME type of return for a QB that will end up being someone's backup. It is just not going to happen. The BEST thing that could come from this is the bears just cutting ties with him. Not sinking any more money into a lost cause and not being forced into making the same mistake the giants made. -

Not as a starter. Not at all. Fields has shown what he is. A one trick pony. He is fast. Which is great if you are a RB. As a QB he is going to have to read coverages and make the throw. in 15 games last year he was held to UNDER 200 yards passing in 13 games. He has one 300 yard passing game IN HIS CAREER and it is against what may be the worst defense ever. In 3 of his 4 this year he had yet to go over 216 yards passing till the broncos game. Who is going to trade for that? If they do pick him up off waivers (no one is trading for a qb on his 4th year who the team is not going to pick up his 5th year option. No one.) he certainly will not start. This year is the end of Justin Fields days as the primary starter. He may come in as the starter for an injured QB but he will never be a starter again. There is always going to be room for a fast QB as a backup so he will likely have a job till his speed starts to sap from hits or age but he is going to be playing for a few million a year. Not starters money. As a point of reference, It is likely that Brock Purdy will come close to having more career passing yards through this year than fields will in his entire career as a starter. Fields has 31 starts for 4,973 yards and 9 wins. Purdy has 10 starts for 2,393 yards with 9 wins. When you compare Fields to other QBs he comes in at the back end of the league and would not even be a starter at this point if not for the fact the cupboard is bare in in Chicago. There IS no other option. The bears leadership backed themselves into bad draft pick. The only thing they can do to get out of it is NOT sign him to a long term deal like the giants did with jones To be sure a team WILL sign him as a backup. Likely Baltimore where he would fit in perfectly. The Falcons could bring him in as a backup but he would want more than the starter gets. Ridder is only on a 5 mil dollar 4 year deal so the are likely to keep trying to develop him. There is always a QB coach out there that thinks he is the QB whisperer and will want to take him on to play with like a toy. Look at Josh Rosen , He got bounced around like a tennis ball. The idea that Fields is going to hold any value is not realistic based on his career performance. But look at the bright side. You will get the number one pick next year and you never employed Matt Patricia as a coach. -
Running down a dream

I see some ugly games this week. Mostly low scoring. Baltimore on the under 38.5 is +190 on MGM. The steelers may not score a single touchdown with 3 linemen out/injured and pickett hobbling. Game ends up 21-9 in a game where Jackson scores 2 tds on the ground and edwards runs one in from like 3 yards out. Saints under 40.5. is +270. The Saints D is good enough to continue to make Jones struggle while Carr is "better" but even healthy he has looked like shitt. this game probably ends up 14-6 saints. Texans under 41.5 is +280 also. The texans are clicking and will likely continue to while the falcons will score a TD it neve willr be in the game. Game ends up 21-10 or 21-14. Cards on the under 44.5 vs the Bengals +320. Burrow has looked like trash all season and there is no reason to believe he is going to hold up any better vs an AZ team I was SURE had to be tanking. The Bengals are bad at EVERYTHING and Arizona may not be great but they likely pull out a win by a figgy because they are surprisingly NOT bad at everything. 17-14 AZ. Chiefs over 53.5 is +188 the Vikes can not get out of their own way this year and the chiefs are...well...the chiefs. Even with the scare last week. Should be a slugfest but one that the Mahomes pulls out. Broncos over 43.5 is +240. The Broncos D is bad. but the Jets D is not that much better. 17th vs the pass and 28th vs the run. The broncos have hit the over on 3 of 4 and R. Wilson are actually playing pretty good. 35-21

By the end of the year he will know what the draft order is. All he has to do is not declare early. The final date to declare is Jan 16th. Plenty enough time to read the tea leaves about what teams have a chance to get him.
-
Dude just came out and said he makes enough on NIL that he will go back into the draft next year if he does not like who selected him.

He may be the outlier. He seems to be able to read coverage. I hope he does well. -

It is so hard for me to believe that any NFL team would give him a chance as a starter unless he plays like he did against the Broncos from here on out. Some people will look at the broncos game and point to that as to what he could potentially do. Problem is he is not going to be able to play against the worst defense in the league each week. One that may be historically bad. The game against the broncos was just like a game for him against ohio state. We can revisit this when the season starts next year of course but my bet is he has to settle for a backup contract that will still pay him like 5-6 million a year. More than most RBs make and still in the league. The thing is that until proven otherwise ohio state Qbs can not be counted on to produce in the NFL. My suspicion is that the level of competition they face each year is just not good enough to force their qbs to advance past what amounts to go routes and reading basic coverages. Once they move on to the NFL they start to face athletes that are as fast as they are and coverages they never dreamed of seeing. All with having to get the ball out in under 3 seconds. Something they likely never had to do at Ohio state because the teams they play are typically not getting to the QB. -

Get something for him? How? This is the last year of his rookie contract. He is not going to get the 5th year extension. His value depends on him flipping the switch which I just can not see. The only team he would be successful on is the ravens. The Ravens have a team set up for a crappy qb. They are going to run the ball 600 times a year between 4 people and use the short passing attack with a top flight TE. Not a lot of teams out there can do that. -

kilroy69 replied to seafoam1's topic in FFToday Board
I think the latter is more likely. Fields is not an elite passer. He just had the best of the best surrounding him in college. He would be an awesome backup. Someone who could come in and really mess with defenders with his speed when they were geared up for a pocket passer. Other than that he is not a big boy qb. All that being said I hope they sign him to a massive contract as a lions fan. I want to see everyone else in the division struggle -
I understand you are not paying waller to block and to be honest he probably should not be. But you bring in the blocking TE or a focking full back or even a backup linemen and chip. The entire team looked bad. really bad. But the coaching could have made this at least competitive. Like you said no one wants to see a shitt game. Even if you are a fan of the team winning by the 6th or 7th sack you have to feel for a guy. That look he has though. It is a cross between a caterpillar and President Biden/Mitch McConnell. I have never seen a QB look so lost. Ever in my life. I have seen backups come in with more poise. Zach Wilson at this point has a chance to be better this year. Danial Jones has no chance. His only decent game came when Arizona took their foot off the gas. If they had kept playing aggressive the giants would be winless going into a stretch they are likely not to win a single game for a month.
