I have been a recruiter for 11 years now and the last 4 of them have been filled with just the type of thing I am talking about. Across multiple orgs. Large and small. DEI as a THEORY in academic settings is great. In practical application it is Affirmative action with another name.

This is EXACTLY what happened. He consciously filtered out the non DEI candidates and then chose from the DEI people and called it fair. That is literally standard operating procedure for DEI hires.

When you are a contractor you do not have a leg to stand on. They say jump and you say how high or they fire you. If I had said a single word that showed I was out of lock step with DEI I would have been fired by the end of the day. That is 100 percent not a joke.
