I think you have to go with Dowdle (I would feel good about it, but at this point starting Pearsall is just a random shot in the dark).
-
Probably Mason - I don't think the Purdy vultures will become the rule.
-
Think I'd rank Caleb over Murray for RoS. If Caleb-caliber QBs are availeble on a weekly basis in your league, streaming is probably a good option.
-
As mentioned above - tough call. I'd lean toward Harrison.
-
Depends on your risk tolerance. Signs point to Daniels playing, but if morning reports indicate that he is likely to be a GTD, I'd plug in Murray rather than take a potential zero at QB.
-
Unless you think the Browns can hang with the Ravens, the gamescript will not be good for Chubb (and I don't see him as back to a "must start"). I'd go with Mooney.
-
Standard scoring: J.Tolbert @SFO C.Tillman v.BAL C.Otton v.ATL D.Hopkins @LVR

The NFL doesn't care about "feel-good". It's about the money - somebody important had theirs on the Rams or maybe even a prop bet for safety on the next play.
-
Before they can throw to someone, they need someone who can actually, you know, throw.

Okay, I'll play. I'd rank them: Cooper - BUF - best combination of individual talent and best team situation on the list Adams - NYJ - not sure I trust Rodgers or the Jets to be able to feed so many mouths, but can't deny that he is in what should be a good situation McMillan - TB - a bit of an unknown risk, but has the opportunity to step into a WR1 role with a hot QB (we'll soon find out if that heat was solely due to previous receiving talent) Hopkins - KC - certainly has the potential to end up being the best of the bunch, but some risk on what exact role he will have and if he still has "it" Tillman - CLE - another unknown risk with the potential to step into the alpha role with Jameis slinging it Sterling Shepherd - TB - the veteran probably has a decent floor and could surprise Jeudy - CLE - might push Tillman, but i don't think he will win that battle - if he was going to breakout, I think he would have done it already Meyers - LVR - better suited to a complimentary WR2 role where someone else gets the D's attention MVS - NO - just not very good (he's been on much better teams with better QBs and not consistently produced) Turner - LVR - definition of a JAG, been around the league for four years and has never even flashed

The NFL product on the field across the board - GARBAGE
Showboat replied to lod001's topic in FFToday Board
That's not really anything two new. It's been at least 20 years since any significant starter played more than a few quarters in the pre-season. As training camps got watered down (i.e less full pads/contact sessions) I think there is less time to actually teach proper techniques for tackling and getting tackled. Focus seems to be on scheme and terminology and nobody has developed any good habits for hitting and getting hit which leads to more injuries. I think back (many moons ago) to when I took ski lessons. The first thing on the lesson plan was learning and practicing how to fall down without getting hurt. -
Agree, out of those I think you have to bench Taylor this week.

Poll - ROS - Would you Drop Geno Smith for One of These
Showboat replied to mccmw's topic in A Little Help!
Kind of depends on your league. If there are always a bunch of Smith-caliber QBs available on the wire, I suppose it might make some sense to make the swap, but unless you start more than six WR/RB not sure the pick-up would ever crack your starting lineup. I picked Hopkins because it's probably a reasonable gamble to see if he develops a connection with Mahomes. If dynasty/deep keeper, Tracy would probably be a better long-term gamble. -
Man, I was hoping for some consensus so I could eliminate at least one option. Now it's looking like I'll have to go with Otton.
-
Just don't know who in place of Daniels on 2 teams..
Showboat replied to CajunBadger's topic in A Little Help!
Team 1: I think you stick with Dak and hope he rebounds (he usually put up good regular seasons stats). Team 2: Tua would be tempting but is it certain that he plays? (and could be a bit rusty) - probably Cousins. -
I'd stick with Geno.
-
Agree, drop ARich - maybe it will change his fortunes.
-
I'd take my chances than JSN breaks out a bit with DK hobbled.
-
Bigsby probably has the safest floor (even if ETN plays). If you need more boom potential I'd go with Watson.
-
Definitely Jennings over JuJu Probably Javonte for this season (but I could see going with Tracy, especially in dynasty as I think he has more long-term upside potential)
-
Russ is who we all (except for Steelers coaches) knew he was.

The NFL product on the field across the board - GARBAGE
Showboat replied to lod001's topic in FFToday Board
Well, he doesn't have the passing stats the OP was talking about and even his great play today that the talking heads were praising was a product of the new protections afforded QBs. 40 or 50 years ago he would have been crushed on the sideline. Nowadays, the defender will get a penalty for touching a QB near the sideline, so he lets up and allows Mahomes to squirt by.with a big run. Really with all the rules-changes favoring QBs and the passing game, there is no excuse for QBs to not be throwing for 300+ every week. -
There goes any value for McLaurin today. Also, FU to JuJu. What the he!! ever happened to rub some dirt (or rubber pellets) on it and get back out there.
-
Mason is probably the safer play, but if the Fins do anything it will likely be through Achane so he is more of a boom-bust play.
