Waivers - Week 2 Help Me Improve My Team Will answer yours
Showboat replied to HTH's topic in A Little Help!
Assuming this is redraft, I wouldn't go after a TE. You have Kelce (probably a big investment) - he is certainly past his prime but you have to hope he picks it up and becomes serviceable as the seasons wears on. As soon as you bench him or drop him, he'll probably have that 3-TD game. Pierce and Johnston are probably both worth going after, but Mooney has the better passing QB. Allen had a breakout game, but those may be he only TDs he scores this season while Hill seems to have carved out a role in the Ravens O. Not sure you need to carry two D's and other than that, Odunze and Juedy could probably be dropped. You may want to consider dropping Puka - he could be out 7 weeks and expecting him to tear it up upon return may be a bit of a gamble. -
Jeez, overreact much - not sure what you were expecting? For a QB who had grand total of 4 starts before this season, sitting at 4th in QB fantasy points (better than LJax, Mahomes, Burrow, Stroud, Dak, Purdy) is hardly a bust.

Dynasty: Malik Nabers is better than Marvin Harrison Jr

He's got photographic evidence? -
LaPorta may be a buy low candidate. The risk is that Goff has lost the magic of the last couple of seasons or maybe the Lions are determined to get JW more involved at the expense of Laporta, but given the results of the last couple of weeks that doesn't make much sense. The Lions were at their best last season when LaPorta was seeing 6+ targets per game including high-value red-zone targets. You'd think that a bloated staff of coaches would be able to see that.

Ahhhh, cancel-out theory is alive and well. If you think Goedert will score more points than Hill, go ahead and start him. Making that decision because your opponent has Hurts is ill-advised - next thing you know, Dotson will catch a couple TD passes, Hurts will call his own number a lot and/or the O will lean heavily on Barkley.
-
Anyone have a milk carton? Can you tell me if you see McClaurin on there?
-
He is responding - now has more yards than touches 7-9
-
FU to Z. White - 5 touches for 2 yards so far.
-
The last one I remember is Kenny Golladay, who didn't do much else the rest of that season, showed some promise for a few years and flamed out after signing a big free agent contract with the Giants.
-
Is this the week 1 over-reaction thread?
-
I guess tackling anyone on the offense is now a penalty.
-
Is the bold part that they actually make the playoffs? All teams, except the Super Bowl champ, that make the playoffs eventually lose there.
-
As a bonus, I'll also go with the same bold prediction I've made the last two years. Even though they are now different teams: Gabe Davis scores more fantasy points than Stefon Diggs.
-
Go very bold or go home: CeeDee Lamb finishes outside the top 10 WRs.
-
Maybe just send him a gift certificate for a free massage.
-
This is an unexpected move. Does this mean that the new regime will finally feed McLaurin like a true alpha WR?
-
I'm already on record that CeeDee will fall out of the top 10. Chase is a concern, too but I haven't been following that situation as closely.
-
Maybe you should have taken Jefferson and Wilson. So you are worried about Jefferson's recent injuries but not Taylor's? Any position in the last half of the first round is a steal for JJ. Plenty of other receivers (Adams, and Moore for example) have done just fine with suspect QB play. I'd say JJ is a step above those guys and Darnold will be coached to feed his best player. While thus far Darnold's results have not been great, he has never really been in a situation conducive to success. If he truly had no talent or potential, he would have been out of the league already. He also has that contract year incentive as this is probably his last chance to earn a big payday (similar to Mayfield last year and Evans did quite well as his number 1 receiver)..

The Greatest NFL QB of All Time Officially Retires 🏆

I thought this was going to be a thead about Tommy Maddox. -
It will be a challenge to read between the lines and determine if this is just an "I don't like training camp" injury. If legit, it could be concerning because the impacts of foot injuries always seem to linger.
-
Moss and Pollard both signed big (for RB) free agent contracts, but I expect they will both give way to their younger competition (Brown and Spears) as the season wears on (and the Moss contract has a reasonable "out" after only 1 year). If either of these guys has a fast start, they could be good "sell high" candidates on the trade market. Chubb is certainly worth a mid-round gamble. Knowing when you need to pull the trigger is all about knowing your league.
-
This Lions regime has always employed an RBBC. I see no reason why Monty won't still be the primary early down/short yardage back. I expect both Monty and Gibbs to finish the season with 1000+ total yards and ~10 TDs each. That's great value for a mid-round pick, but perhaps a bit disappointing for those expecting a top 5 RB stats from Gibbs.
-
Everyone should know that DeAngelo Montgomery was the swiftiest player ever. It;s a shame that thread was somehow lost and apparently unable to be resurrected.
-
Something doesn't make sense here. If 3rd round feels right for Kyren, that is no better than a top 15 RB, not a top 5 RB.
-
A decent list - yeah, tough to rank Jacobs as a top 5. Gibbs is someone I don't think will improve much on last season's numbers, so I see him closer to 10 than 5. Monty is still around and the Lions coaching staff seems determined to get him plenty of value touches (which kind of limits Gibbs' upside). When Gibbs was unleashed in the middle of last season, I think it caught some teams off-guard. With a more tape, I expect D's to be a bit better prepared for him so I wouldn't be surprised to see a bit of a sophomore slump.
