    D Henry

I'd say the same thing about someone paying $20 for someone's autograph. And trust me, the extra $5M ain't coming out of the rich owner's pocket - they just increase revenues through higher prices for tickets, concessions, TV deals, stadium subsidies, etc.

    D Henry

Whatever the market will bear - it is the American way. Nobody was forcing those "poor kids" into the store to buy over-priced crap and autographs. Really no different from any good player with a $20M contract holding out for $25M which then just leads to more exorbitant ticket/parking/food/drink prices (not to mention more ppv games on Peacock/Prime) that fans willingly pay.

    D Henry

Henry has really shown no signs of slowing down, but as mentioned RBs tend to fall off the cliff abruptly. The end will come. It's really just a question of whether it's this year, next year or the one after..... Mid to late first round is probably appropriate for the risk-reward profile - any position after that would be great value.

    Football coaches are dumb?

Quite honestly. I don't think there is a lot of difference among most head coaches at the NFL level with respect to Xs and Os. Some are clearly in over their heads (and they tend to get flushed out rather quickly). Their primary job is to assemble a competent staff and set an appropriate tone for the team that facilitates success. But the fact remains that over the long-term talent will win out over coaching. Belichick was certainly a great coach, but would his strategy to play solid defense (zeroing in on the opponents best weapon) and patch with role players have been successful without Brady? When Brady moved on, so did his success (and not that he was stuck in his ways - he even tried crazy stuff like co-offensive coordinators who were not really offensive specialists). Even the great Lombardi was the beneficiary of Packers teams during the 60s that had a talent level that was head and shoulders above the competition. When the talent got old, his message turned stale and he was run out of town.

    June Mock Draft- Final Rosters

Nice - difficult to pick a favorite. My least favorite would be Dan or maybe Shovel (but should be fine if Saquon repeats). I see Hawkeye as a dark horse.

The best ability is not availability

This is true, but getting the exceptions right create value and separate the champs from also-rans. I recall the year Adrian Peterson was coming back from ACL (and I think it came late the previous season - want to say December). People had him on DND lists and were avoiding him like the plague. I was not even all that high on him, but he fell to a point where I thought it would be ridiculous not to take him. In that sense, not being inflexible with DND lists and such actually saved me because it allowed me to scoop up value where others had already made a predetermined decision that the player was toast. Getting back to the original topic, I don't think I've ever heard "availability is the best ability". It is a bit silly to label anything as the "best" ability - speed elusiveness, strength, smarts, etc. all play a role in football, but not sure how any one ability could be labeled as best. However, availability is fundamental because without it, none of your other abilities matter. If a player is not on the field he's of limited value to his team and he is worthless in fantasy.
  7. Seems like a stupid question because the conventional wisdom is that he is a first ballot lock, but aside from the one Super Bowl, he has a long history of post-season flops. He never had a 5k passing season (and never even got particularly close), which seems odd for an era where most of the elite QBs cracked 5k at least once (and guys like Dak, Romo, Cousins, Eli and Matt Ryan were able to get to 4900+). He seems unlikely to catch Favre in career passing yardage and is still behind Rivers and Roethlisberger and seems likely to be caught by Stafford (assuming Stafford plays at least one season after a Rodgers retirement).
  8. Not sure how a dude who has never taken a regular season NFL snap can be considered to have a floor.
  9. There is no "news" in that article (at least nothing new that wasn't already obvious when Dimes was signed 3 months ago). We already knew that the Colts needed to see Richardson to play better and if he can't beat out Jones in camp, he won't be the Colts starter in 2025.

    Marvin Harrison Jr.

Not sure that will work out any better for MHJ than it did for Mr. Boston.

    Is Aaron Rodgers a Hall-of-Famer?

All stats have their anomalies: Foles and Tannehill are both in the top 6 for season passer rating but Brees is not off the map at 9 and 10 (and #7 for career - ahead of Brady at 12, but behind the likes of Russ and D.Watson). Passer rating is a bit of a convoluted formula - I suspect that Rodgers' TD-to-INT ratio (the one stat where he blows the competition away) contributes to his high passer rating.

    Is Aaron Rodgers a Hall-of-Famer?

Brees doesn't have the MVP awards, but of the 15 5k passing seasons that have been recorded, Brees has 5 of them (kind of makes one wonder how he doesn't have at least 1 MVP award) and second only to Brady in career yardage. Based on stats, IMO Brees has a much stronger HOF case than Rodgers.

    Is Aaron Rodgers a Hall-of-Famer?

With the 4 MVP awards, I guess it would be a shock if he didn't get in, but the question is, should he? Aside from his one SB win, his legacy is not getting it done in the post-season (highlighted by the fact that he never made it back to another SB despite being on some really good teams). I was a bit surprised that in this era of passing, his best season for passing yards was only ~4600 that ranks as 57th. Overall, his stats are comparable to Roethlisberger (who lacks the MVP awards, but has 2 SB rings and appeared in another - the one Pit lost to GB), though Rodgers does have a distinct advantage with ~100 more TDs and ~100 less iINTs. Actually, the TD-to-INT ratio is the one stat where he blows everyone away and maybe that is the stat that is deserving of the HOF.
  14. Some broadcasters will overuse the term when trying hype up the talent level of the game they are covering, but a true security blanket can be a valuable fantsy asset. In addition to the ones listed above, D.Adams was Rodgers' securty blanket in GB, and L.Bell was a seurity blanket for Roethlisberger in Pit. I guess you just have to consider the source and context when the security blanket term is thrown around.

    Mid & late Rb ideas

Okay, I'll play. Barkley will disappoint - last season was extraordinary and RBs almost never have consecutive extraordinary seasons. From that list, I'd consider Gibbs and Jeanty to be the "safest" and I like McCaffrey to bounce back (and potentially finish as the #1 RB).

    Hunter or Tet (Dynasty)

Still early, but right now I'd take Harvey over Traveon.

    Hunter or Tet (Dynasty)

Agree, McMillan is probably the "safer" pick. But if you really want to swing for the fences along with a greater chance to strike out, go with Hunter (though if you get IDP points, Hunter is probably a no-brainer).

NY Giants sign Russell Wilson to 1 yr deal.

If Dart isn'r ready, I just hope the Giants realize that Wilson is not the answer - at best he'll get the Giants to an unexciting 8-9. I'd much rather see them turn the reigns over to Jameis - he might be able to get them over .500 if he can cut down on the turnovers. If not, it would still be fun to see him slinging the ball to Nabers while the Giants try to play catch-up in a lot of games..

    I'm out on Shedeur

Even if there is no team likely to take him 4-8, the reason the Saints might want to move up is to prevent someone else from jumping in front of them. As you said, it really just depends if any team has decided Sanders is their guy. We'll know soon.

    2025 NFL Draft Contest

QBs are always over-drafted. I think the Sanders chatter is mostly smokescreen. I would not be surprised to see 3 QBs go in the top 10.

    2025 NFL Draft Contest

The Bonus question 5 is: Which WR will be drafted first? But in the dropdown it asks: Which WR will be drafted last? Is there a bonus for discovering this inconsistency?

    Nabers owners in dynasty

What is the best-case QB scenario? I was hoping the Giants would land Stafford, but that ship has sailed. At this point, I think I'd rather see the Giants get Flacco over either Rodgers or Wilson (I really really really hope it's not Wilson), I also think Flacco would be a better mentor for the rookie as I figure they will work the draft to ensure they get "their guy" between Sanders or Ward. Thoughts?
