Detroit has 3 out of 4 of their major sports teams in the top 20 so no reason to feel bad, makes us the no.1 sports city in the United States, my only advice is to move the Lions to the CFL and bring a real NFL team to Detroit

Don't like the Thomas pick at 2, you gotta go with the best player - Russel. Lions have so many needs it's true but you can't pass up a potential franchise QB. Let him learn under Kitna, Lions aren't not gonna do anything this season anyway. I don't like them trading down to get more picks, how many impact players are you gonna get in 2nd, 3rd rounds (especially with Lions history of picks)? How many teams have built a franchise around an OL?

Get your facts before you post! Bly was traded for T. Bell, Foster and a draft pick. James Hall was traded for a draft pick too. Drafting a franchise QB is a crap shoot, agree they need to improve OL. last years picks look good and will help defensively. I think with Marinelli and Martz making draft and FA decisions, Lions are moving in right direction. If they sign Kevin Curtis and CB (Springs?) they could be an 8-8 team next year which would be a great improvement. Would love to see them draft Thomas and Drew Stanton.

No matter what the Lions do they'll get blasted because of their idiotic WR choices the last coupla years. Why should the Lions sign Curtis? He's a Martz guy who knows the system and would compliment R. Williams and Furrey. The Lions do need a quality 3rd WR for this offense. Will they overpay? Yes , but what choice do they have? players aren't knocking down the Lions doors. If they sign Furrey then that takes C. Johnson off the draft board and they can hopefully trade down or draft Thomas at no. 2. If they don't sign Curtis, then (laughable as it may seem) the Lions should draft the best available player at no. 2 even if it's Johnson. If Johnson goes no. 1 then Lions should grab Russel at no.2 just my opinion.

I think the writer forgot the Michigan Panthers USFL championship that might have put us at no. 4. Then add in the University of Detroit's 14 league championships that moves us to no. 3. Add the Detroit Demolition's (womens football NWFA) 4 championships then we move to no. 2. Now add the Detroit Shock's 2 WNBA championships and we move to no.1! Wait, forgot Detroit Drive's (Arena Football) 4 championships and the Detroit Rockers (soccer) 91/92 championship. This clinches it. Detroit is the no 1 sports city. Whats with the Garcia manlove? Garcia couldn't get Eagles into Superbowl. Grossman didn't look that bad in the beginning of the year and had good games in week 14, 15, 16. Yes, the Bears could use a new QB, Leftwich, Shaub What about Carr? Would like to see what he can do with an offensive line.

Best Lions QB in last 20 years. I'd give 1st and 2nd round picks for McNabb cause Lions will just waste those picks anyways. Millen should have traded Garcia, Mike Williams and Charles Rogers for McNabb last year.
