Do you still support pinching 10 year old girls nipples?
TBayXXXVII replied to lickin_starfish's topic in The Geek Club
...until conservatives do it. Then, "it's different". -
Like everything else, it's either going to work or not, right? I'm just on the side of, I think they chose the right direction. We'll see.

What’s your rookie WR board looking like?
TBayXXXVII replied to makindollaz's topic in FFToday Board
Worthy is on my DND list. Pat Mahomes proved last year with Skyy Moore, that WR's don't matter. He'll keep throwing it to Kelce until another WR proves he's capable. With Moore, Brown. and Rice there, that's a lot of cooks in the kitchen. Even if you think Worthy could be Tyreek Hill Jr, remember, Hill wasn't anything special until year 3. He was definitely good in year 2, but year 3 was the big year. In a re-draft, I'll let someone else take Worthy. He'll go way too high for what I think he'll produce. -
“I Can’t Breathe” Yet another black man dies at the hands of police
TBayXXXVII replied to The Real timschochet's topic in The Geek Club
My brother was a cop for 25 years. He said he treats thugs the same way, regardless of race. When on the roads, you know people specifically by name, you know exactly who they are. Those people are treated differently because of track record. Yes, they tend to be black more often than not, but that's because of those people's actions where police are needed, not the police injecting themselves into people's private lives. -
US Is Buying 81 Soviet-Era Combat Aircraft From Russia's Ally for Ukraine. Liberals love UKRAINE and hate America 🌈
TBayXXXVII replied to Maximum Overkill's topic in The Geek Club
We've given them how many billions of dollars... and they can't drop $2.5M of that on aircraft? Russia is supposedly the 3rd best military in the world and the Ukraine doesn't even have one that shows up on the tally board and this war is lasting how long? Makes you wonder, doesn't it? If it doesn't, why not? -
Travelling and double dribbles are almost never called anymore... never against the better players. Flopping, ticky tack fouls where a guy's finger nail brushes against the shooters forearm... AFTER he shot the ball, the shooter falling off to the side on a crappy shot and getting a foul call. So much crap about the NBA, makes it unwatchable.
-
That happened organically, not a handful of great players just agreeing to go somewhere to play together as mercenaries.
-
Tampa did that with Wirfs and it's working out great. When you spend $200M+ on your QB, you better make sure he can play. I don't know that they were on fire, but I've seen a few outlets having the Chargers OLine as rated extremely poorly. Here's a couple... https://www.playerprofiler.com/article/offensive-line-rankings-and-tiers-end-of-nfl-season-review-2024-offensive-line-outlook/ https://www.si.com/nfl/chargers/news/chargers-news-bolts-offensive-line-grades-reveal-unit-is-struggling-rks97 Yes, they could have, but judging by what transpired in the draft, they'd have to move up a LOT to get a guy that high in the 2nd. It probably would've cost them their 3rd, 4th, and 5th rounder to do that. All 3 better be studs if they leave that draft with 3 top 40 picks and 3 bottom 40 picks. I do agree they should've drafted another WR and they could've done that with a bunch of guys in the 3rd or 4th round. The one thing I can assure you on though is that Harbaugh's #1 priority in Stanford, San Fran, Michigan, and now LA, has been the offensive line.
-
I see where @LaChup is coming from. There were what, 10 offensive linemen taken between #1 and #35? After the Chargers pick, there were 5 LT's taken in R1. They took a WR at 35... then next offensive lineman (who is labeled a tackle), was taken 20 picks later... and the 4 taken from that point on, aren't very promising. Nabers + longshot LT is NOT better than #1 LT + top 5 WR. PFF had Slater (Chargers 2023 LT), as the 14th best LT in the league. I've seen where some expect Alt to be the RT... I'm not so sure. If Slater was top 7, even 10, maybe. But he wasn't. I think that the Chargers give Alt a chance at LT and move Slater to RT.
-
That's what I was hoping for. Looks like their plan is to put the Duke kid at Center. Fine, I have no issue with that. My issue is the 2nd through 4th rounds. I'm ok with a edge rusher and DB, I just don't see where the need was for a WR. They could've drafted he Guard in R2, the Edge in R3.
-
Agreed. They legitimately needed 3 iOL's, a new RG, LG, and C... they only got 1. If they want to let Mauch continue on at RG, to see if improves at RG, that's fine. I think he was too bad to be relied upon, but still, giving him a 2nd year is reasonable. But they needed to replace the Center and LG... both sucked, and they replaced only 1 in the draft and they didn't replace the other as of yet. We'll see what their plan is in the next phase of free agency. No, drafting OL is not exciting, but it's promising when you need them. Like I said, they needed more than 1 and only drafted 1. It's disappointing. It's why I gave them a 'B'. They addressed needs, I just think they didn't use their assets well. I don't see why they felt a need to draft a WR4 in the 3rd round.
-
I do think that's possible, and likely at some point... but I think the hand off to Henry is 'Plan A' and possibly 'Plan B', and the contingency plan will be to go with Jackson. With Jackson's new deal, I think preserving him is Baltimore's main objective. I think that's why they brought Henry in. I think they call more run plays (hand offs), to limit Jackson's adlibbing to the run and at the goal line is where I think a lot of that will take place. Last year Jackson had only 1 rushing TD from inside 7 yards and 1 the year before. I think that remains the plan in place.
-
Yeah, no qualms with the Duke kid, but I do think they should've taken another iOL earlier than round 6. I don't think that an RB and/or WR was needed in R3&R4. Had they gone iOL with the first 2 picks, then EDGE rusher followed by a DB then either a RB or WR (preferably a RB), I'd have given them an 'A'. Then again, Jason Licht's inadequacies in R1 almost assures he picks a bust. Though, when they're not a bust, they're studs (Evans, Vea, & Wirfs).

Watching college football is like watching paint dry, so I really don't know who the players are that the Bucs drafted, but for the most part they filled areas of need with players at expected values, so I'd give them a B.

For this year coming up, I think Thomas Jr. and McConkey have a great chance to be the top 2 scoring rookies based on need and the person throwing them the ball. -
“I Can’t Breathe” Yet another black man dies at the hands of police
TBayXXXVII replied to The Real timschochet's topic in The Geek Club
I literally quoted your post that you said that cops should be held to a higher standard... I said they are. I then supported that with examples of why you seem to have an issue of the standards, pointing out that Democrats are continually lowering standards. So, you can claim you want accountability, maybe you should want accountability for why those standards exist in the first place. You fix that problem, you'll find that the results we're seeing drop drastically. -

“I Can’t Breathe” Yet another black man dies at the hands of police
TBayXXXVII replied to The Real timschochet's topic in The Geek Club
... and we do hold them to a higher standard. The problem is though, that the party you devote your loyalty to, always wants to lower the standards. Example #1: Black people can't pass the BAR exam... Liberals response: Let's lower the score so they can pass. The result, more bad lawyers... most are white, because that's mostly who's in law school. Outcome: More white people are becoming lawyers than black. Liberal backlash: White people are racist... too many white lawyers. Example #2: Black people struggle with grammar... Liberals response: Let's lower the standards for grammar so that they can pass. The result, more people with bad grammar... most are white, because that's mostly who's benefitting because of the larger percentage of white people in college. Outcome: More while people getting degrees than black. Liberal backlash: White people are racist... too many white people with college degrees. Example #3: Black people (and women), can't become cops because the standards are too high... so Democrats reduce the standards so that more can pass the tests. The result, more bad cops.... most are white, because that's mostly who's enrolling in the police academies. Outcome: More bad white cops on the streets. Liberal backlash: White people are racist... too many white cops killing black people. MAYBE... just MAYBE, we stop lowering standards to allow black to qualify for things that will be more beneficial to white people, and instead, focus on the black communities putting more emphasis on education at the lower levels. Instead of pizzing away money on gender studies, CRT, climate change, and other "wah wah wah, we need....[crap that doesn't matter], we invest that on the education system at the lower levels? How about we focus on family units? How about we (Democrats), stop encouraging single-income for welfare and hence encouraging single parent households... mostly affecting black families? How about we stop the "Defund the Police" crap when most black communities are victims of violent crimes, and thus encouraging younger black kids to dislike cops? How about we stop with the identity politics and treating people the same, instead of making a victimhood classification of people? Can't do that though, because that would require people who are beholden to the Democrat party to vote Republican... so, let's just keep complaining about systemic racism (dismissing the fact that the mass majority of instances where this claim happens, comes from Democrat strong holds). -

Amazing, isn't it? -
I don't disagree really. Henry is a different kind of player and going from a crap team to a Super Bowl contender and that usually can invigorate a player. I think that even though he'll be 30, he still averaged over 4 ypc and still rushed for over 1100 yards and 12 td's on a team where he was the only weapon. Also, it was the least amount of touches he had in the last 4 seasons where he played a full season. He averaged 16.5 carries per game last year. Even if he drops to 12, I think with that team and OLine, he could average over 4.5 ypc. I think 13.5 for 4.7 is reasonable. The lighter workload will still yield him similar production and fresher legs. I think they all but eliminate his usage in the passing game for that reason. I don't think he gets many breakaway TD's, like he's done in the past, but I think he could quite literally have a dozen td runs of 5 yards and less. Now, in 2025? That may be a completely different story... but this year, if people are allowing him to fall, I have no problems in taking him.
-
I think the opposite happens. I think they added Henry to not just replace Gus Edwards, but a slight uptick in production. Edwards can't handle the workload and get the production that Henry can. Edwards is best at 10 carries per game, Henry can get 15. Plus, they still have Justice Hill and I think they still bring in someone else to tally a handful of touches a game. I think the addition of Henry is to reduce the rushing workload of Jackson.
-
Baltimore's offense is substantially more efficient and productive than Tennessee's, so I can see Henry getting about 60 to 70 yards rushing a game, with at least (yes, at least), 1 rushing TD a game. I think there's a legit shot that he has about 1100 yards (1200 ceiling), but well over 20 TD's (yup... like 24). I think they get into the green zone a lot and use Henry a lot, to keep Jackson from doing it. I think the addition of Henry hurts Jackson a touch. Jackson, per 17 games played, averages just over 1,000 yards rushing and 6 TD's. I think with Henry, that drops to about 600 and 3.

Remember, this is an extension, not a new deal. He already has a contract in place for 2024, 25, & 26, so those numbers don't kick in for 4 more years. Those are for years, 2027, '28, and '29.
