Cultural existential threat: Marxism and Moral Relativism
TBayXXXVII replied to jerryskids's topic in The Geek Club
Yeah, their models won't work here. The problem is the people, not the system. Any "system" you create, won't work that's better than what we have now... and the one we have now isn't as good as the one we had before the ACA was implemented. -
Good luck with him.

their history.

I play in a 12-team, 2 QB keeper league, with 24 roster spots, and I can guarantee that no one will draft Spencer Rattler.
-
I wouldn't phrase it that way. I'd say that he's the only QB that's played in a system that works, in Detroit for the last 30 years. I'd even be as bold as to say "ever", and not just limit it to just 30 years. Stafford was definitely a better QB, but they never built a team or system around him, like Goff has had.

Does it matter if the TD totals are 44-17 if they're winning at almost the same rate? In those 34 games, they're 11-6 at home and 10-7 on the road. They've also ranked 5th in scoring each of the last 2 years. They do play in a dome and that probably helps them more in the passing game than some other teams, when it comes to home field advantage. Also, if you look at other QB's, who may have more passing TD's on the road, you're likely to find that the number isn't that much higher... but you're also likely to find that their number of passing TD's at home, aren't as high. Look at Dak for example, I believe his h/r split is 34/25... he's 14-1 at home and 6-8 on the road. I'll gladly take Goff's results. Who's another QB you can compare him to? Lawrence? He only has 45 total TD's I think. Burrow? He's been banged up a bit. Tua? He has a better home record (12-3), but a losing record on the road (7-8). He has more passing TD's on the road, by a good size (29), but he's almost half (25), at home. Burrow hasn't been healthy the last 2 years, neither has Cousins. Lamar, Allen, and Hurts really aren't the same style QB. Yeah, he's not Patrick Mahomes... ok, neither are the other 30 QB's in the league, so I'm not sure why there's an issue with his h/r splits regarding TD's when they're still winning at a similar clip. Who do you think is comparable QB that is producing similar w/l results with better numers? QB contracts are all about guaranteed money and cap hit, nothing else. The total dollar figure and years are irrelevant. What you can't have is a long term deal with a boat load of guaranteed money, unless it's obvious that the player is worth it. That's why contracts are written where the team can get out of a deal in 3 years with a nominal cap hit. Heck, after the 2026 season, the Bills can get out of Josh Allen's deal for a $30M cap hit. If they need to go into the 2027 draft needing a QB and have a $35M cap hit at QB for 1 year, that would probably put them somewhere in the middle of the league. Only Mahomes is getting a 10 year deal... no one else is.

Trump's NY Election Interference Trial - Trump is found guilty on all 34 counts
TBayXXXVII replied to squistion's topic in The Geek Club
No, it's election interference to put on a charade of a trial to convict a political opponent that even the federal government said, "Nah, this isn't a winning proposition". -
10, heck, my son is 27!

This trial itself is a bigger example of election interference than the charges against Trump. -
If someone is talking about Spencer Rattler, they're talking about real football because Rattler won't be in the NFL long enough to be fantasy relevant.

Cultural existential threat: Marxism and Moral Relativism
TBayXXXVII replied to jerryskids's topic in The Geek Club
Yeah, when was the last time the government did anything that worked without it costing way more than what it was supposed to? The last time the government got involved in the medical insurance industry (the ACA), costs went up. -
Oh, then he's right, you need to get a life.

That's about 15.5 a day. Willing to bet your 10 year old son has a phone and sends a lot more than 15.5 texts per day.

So you want what Canada has basically? Wait until you see that number come out of your pay check. You think you pay a lot now? Just wait until Uncle Sam gets his hooks in it. The campaign ads from presidential candidates pretending on how they're going to lower those costs will be comedic. -

So every person fends for themselves? Or do you mean the government doing it? -
Fantasy football is irrelevant.

The healthcare system isn't broke, so until we get full on socialism or communism, you'll never be happy with the solution. Even then, you still won't be fully happy because the problem isn't the system, it's the people. -
Let me know when the NFL cares about fantasy football stats and start including that in the games.

Not really sure Kamara's "presence" was the issue. In the 4 games without him (first 3 and last 1), they were 3-1. If we throw out the first game he came back (Game 4), and split the next 12 in half, the Saints were 3-3 in the first half and 3-3 in the second half. I think they played pretty well overall last year, they were 9-7 with #9 ranked scoring offense, #8 scoring defense, & 3rd in giveaway/takeaway. I think their OLine was an issue, but also the lack of weapons. Outside of Olave, they/Carr, really didn't have someone to count on when dropping back. I'm not so sure they addressed that issue all that well either. Though, we'll have to see if Shaheed improves. He very well may.

Top 10 in scoring isn't "average".

Have we talked about the Epstein Island list?
TBayXXXVII replied to tubby_mcgee's topic in The Geek Club
That list will never be shown, too many high profile names on both sides of the ledger. -
Carr wasn't the problem last year, it was the crappy OLine. They ranked in the bottom quarter of the NFL in pass blocking and run blocking. No RB rushed for 4.0 ypc last year and Carr never really had a lot of time to throw the ball. It's why their first pick was a Tackle and it's why they brought in a tackle and guard in free agency. I personally don't think they did enough to address the OLine, but that was their biggest problem on offense last year. Keep in mind also, despite all short comings, they still ranked in the top 10 in points scored last year.

LOL, I'll take your word for it, I haven't been there in over 20 years.
