Why do we have a vaccine against a virus?
TBayXXXVII replied to Alias Detective's topic in The Geek Club
How am I being vague? I literally said "It's purely a symptom relief medication, no different than something like Theraflu." What, I'm vague because I didn't say "I know for a fact Theraflu works, so then the Covid vax does too? I've never taken Theraflu, but I assume it works. As a symptom relievers, yeah, I think the Covid vax works... but that's not what was sold to the public. I have no idea how many will be payed out, just like I currently don't know how many were paid out for Camp Lejeune or any other class action suit that was settled. No, I don't disagree with what Trump did about the vaccine. His job was to listen to the "experts" at the CDC, WHO, and alike and put something in motion that fell in line with what they suggested. He did that. His job was to be a facilitator. It wasn't his job to mandate that people take vaccine, which he did not do. His job wasn't to make the vaccine, which he did not do. He did his job, and did it well. Period. I give him credit for doing his job and doing it well, plain and simple. -

I've made my stance on the vaccine quite clear. It's NOT a traditional vaccine that is meant to prevent people from getting COVID and/or spreading it. It's purely a symptom relief medication, no different than something like Theraflu. Because of the mandates from the government virtually forcing or strong arming people into getting them, there will never actually be a study done on the side affects of the "vaccines" for a good 30 to 40 years. At which point, they will find problems and settle an out-of-court class action suit (like the whole Camp Lejeune incident), and just set aside a couple billion dollars to pay out to family members of those who died because of the side affects. Each person will get a slap in the face amount of like $10k, and in the end, no one will remember that the government/government officials had a hand in deceiving and poisoning a lot of people... just like no one is blaming the government for all the people getting cancer at Camp Lejeune (just an example). I'm not a scientist or doctor. I don't have all the data, so I can't say for sure that the vaccine is killing people. That said, I can see and read. To me, there's clear evidence that it should be looked into because there's credible information pointing to it. The longer the government fails to investigate, the more I'm convinced the information is valid. -

That's not what I was referring too. Also, how could I be wearing MAGA colored glasses if you didn't think that I didn't approved of Trump's decisions and distribution plan? -

The side affects? I don't know, that's something that we won't know for a long time. It'll be one of those Camp Lejeune things 40+ years from now where, the drug companies will settle a $10B class action lawsuit for those side affects... but after they've made a Trillion dollar profit. What I do know is that the actual intent of the vaccine is nothing more that a symptom suppressant, and nothing more. -

I said that Trump should've gotten the credit for the plan to put the vaccine into motion and distribution. I did NOT say he should get credit (or blame), for the vaccine itself, because he didn't make it. Any and all, blame and credit for the vaccine itself, falls on to the people who made them. Now, if you want to credit the companies who made the "vaccines", which are nothing more than an over the counter flu symptomatic remedy (like Theraflu) for being just that, then I'll stand right beside you and say, "Good job". If you want to go beyond that, then you can stand with GutterBoy in the Galactically Stupid line. -

In King Troll's post, where he says: "The truth is that the original vaccine clinical trials showed it to be 95% effective against symptomatic covid," is when people need to stop reading and just ignore him. A "VACCINE", under the original definition did NOT deal with "symptoms", it attacked the actual virus to killed it. Those vaccines also prevented the spread. Not only did the COVID "vaccine", not attack/kill the virus, it also did not prevent the spread. Any person who thinks that the Covid "shot" was anything more than a symptom relief medication, like Theraflu or alike, is a complete moron. The fact that the government and CDC pushed this and almost forced it on citizens, in my opinion, is a treasonous act and anyone involved in pushing mandates, be it a politician or other government employee, should spend the rest of their lives in a federal prison... or if they chose, the death penalty. -

LOL, dumb and dumber in a tag team match. -
I haven't been keeping up too much on Baltimore. Do you think this is more because they have enough RB's or that Dobbin's is actually healthy?

Based on this response, I'm going to say "both". -
Something to keep in mind about the Favre/Rodgers transition is that the drop off wasn't anything of note on offense, it was the defense. In 2007 with Favre, the Packers were #2 in Pts scored and 4th in total yards. Favre had a 95.7 passer rating and a QBR of 70.8. In Rodgers' first season, the Packers were #5 in Pts scored and 8th in total yards. Rodgers had a 93.8 passer rating and a QBR of 62.9. The difference was the defense. In 2007, the Packers were 6th in points against and 11th in yards against, but the 2008 defense was 20th in points against and 22nd in yards. Over the next 4 years, the Packers won 11, 10, 14, and 11 games with Rodgers. Only 1 of those years, they didn't have a top 10 defense. Last year, the Packers were an 8-win team with Rodgers being "ok" and their defense being average (ranked 17th in points and yards against). If Love is "ok" and so is the defense, they may win 8 games again.
-
It all depends on how good or bad Love is. I think the rest of the team is pretty solid. I don't think they're great, but they're good. No one has seen any long term play from him, so it's hard to gauge just how good he is. I don't discount the possibility that he could be really good and the Packers might be an 11+ win team. I also don't ignore the possibility that he might be "ok" and the Pack win around 7. I think it's unlikely that he's great and they win 13+ games and just as likely that he sucks and they win 5 or less.

At best, King Troll is wasting a lot of peoples time... at worst, he's the biggest moron on the board. I'm not sure which to go with. -
Yup, agreed all around.
-
Yeah, I'm definitely not taking him with a pick that requires I start him. That's not happening. He may be fine, but history tells us he's going to disappoint this year. If he has a couple of really good games out of the shoot, I'd trade high.
-
History does not bode well for RB's coming off ACL surgery. Yeah, I get the discount - the 9th round pick, but it's still too high. In the 9th round, you can get a flex player, potential starter, and possible sleeper turned star. With Williams, you're going to get a guy whom you may actually never start... or start too late. He's likely to miss multiple games. If I were to pick him, I'd say he'd be my RB6 who I'd target in like round 14 or 15, just before I take my kicker and/or defense. Keeper /dynasty league, I'm thinking 4th or 5th round.

Biden’s accomplishments (and failures)

Biden's only accomplishment is that he managed to be the worst President of all time... but that's only because when LBJ had Kennedy killed, he was still the V.P. -

Do you use plastic straws? Well you'd better stop ASAP!

As a country, we need to stop listening to the climate alarmists. I don't think they've ever been right on anything. -
No biggie, we just see this situation differently.

This quote tells me it was option two. "It hit me out the blue, and it hit a couple players on my team and around the league out the blue," Williams said Thursday, according to USA Today. "I wasn't aware of this situation. But as it happened, I took it on the chin. I was ready to move forward. As things went on, I got the consequences. That's been my whole plan: moving forward from things and just looking at the better days." https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/suspended-lions-wr-jameson-williams-says-he-wasnt-aware-of-how-nfls-gambling-policy-works/

Thanks, thought it was 4 games. By the time he plays, he'll be almost 2 years past the injury. Still not worried about the gambling, he wasn't betting on football, so I don't care.

Yup, they do just enough for black people to keep them on their voting side, while simultaneously keeping a safe distance from them.
