Bill Belichick is a Facade. Not a good coach!
TBayXXXVII replied to justforbeer's topic in FFToday Board
Not buying it. He won a Super Bowl 6 years ago. You're going to need to tell me how they game changed in the last 6 seasons, that is vastly different than it was in 2018. Ok, so this year is "atrocious", just 2 years ago he made the playoffs (doesn't seem like a guy who can't adapt to me), with the guy who's their QB now. So what? Since being in New England, this will be the first time he's missed the playoffs in back-to-back seasons. He's going to have a top 5 pick (#3 right now), in a draft that looks to have a LOT of top 5 QB prospects. I see no downside in letting the 3rd most winning coach and most winning SB coach, in NFL history, take a crack and landing a franchise QB. -
Update: Deshaun Watson Out for the Year, Fields Expected to Play Wk11
TBayXXXVII replied to Law's topic in FFToday Board
Doesn't make them right, or even justified. I guarantee you that Derrick Henry would rather have Deshaun Watson as his QB (at that cost), than who he has now. -

Sure, but I think expectations are different when 1) it was out of the blue and pre-game, when all week long there was no hint that Watson wasn't going to play 2) We're talking about a 5th round rookie who was the THIRD string QB up until he was named the starter, 2 hours before kickoff 3) had a total of 0 reps in practice with the first or second team all week. But maybe that's just me. -

Yeah, I think we all know that this isn't true. Court is about what you can and can not prove to the jury, not about what is and is not true. -

At least they're giving him more than 2 hours notice, that he's starting, this time. -

Injuries happen to everyone, I don't think anyone is all that mad. Cash this year, Watson is making $46M and played a third of the season... Rodgers played 3 snaps and made $36M. Remember, Watson only made $1M last year. -
Op was asking about this past week as a bye replacement, not going forward.

Get rid of both. Lawrence isn't as good as he was last year and isn't as bad as he was his rookie year. He's basically a "meh" QB that in a good QB year, he's outside the top 20, in a bad QB year, he's around league average. Dak is no different. Every year he is a "meh" QB with the exception of a half dozen game stretch where he and the team light it up (usually coincides with a really weak opponent stretch in the schedule), to make you think he's better than what he is. When he/they play good teams, they generally are out played... not always, but the significant majority of the time.

Maybe.... Allen + Daboll >>>>>>> Allen - Daboll & Daboll - Allen.

Mash, definitely. I know there are others though, but that's the easiest one.

War-mongering MAGAturds want Mexico invasion
TBayXXXVII replied to Pimpadeaux's topic in The Geek Club
Yeah, you'll have to give it thought because your second statement proves it. You posted an article that you believe backs up your point about fentanyl coming into the US. That same article says to clamp down on the southern border. If you clamp down on the southern border and use government agencies (like ICE for example), to aid in the efforts help domestically (like YOUR LINK, suggests), then sanctuary cities will go away. LOL Also, I never said to deport millions of undocumented immigrants. I said to deport the undocumented immigrants that have criminal records. -

That's what is SEIZED. The stuff on the street didn't get caught by the officials at the port of entry. Also, the stuff smuggled in by Americans are being paid by the Mexican cartels (that nugget came from your article by the way). What are the odds that it's American's who have family south of the border who are the ones smuggling in the fentanyl? The article you linked even notes that not every vehicle is checked, so what are the odds that it's American's, who are Mexican, have a greater rate of not being checked... because, you know, racial profiling and all? Hmm... I wonder, how many of those American's do you think entered the country illegally, but were given citizenship? Or, are actually DACA people? Something else noted in your link. You don't think that the Mexican government being fully aware of illegal activity by the cartels in the pharmaceutical arena, and letting it go unchallenged, is a problem? You don't think that the Mexican government ALLOWING China-based organizations to be invested in those cartels is a problem? You DON'T think that the amounts of fentanyl being trafficked through the CBP and ports of entry are merely just shots in the dark, as a "look here not there" attempt, to draw their attention away from the people crossing illegally? From your link: "Just like with China, Mexico’s cooperation with U.S. counternarcotics efforts is profoundly hollowed out. The Mexican government of López Obrador has eviscerated counternarcotics and law enforcement cooperation with the United States since 2019 and particularly since 2020 when U.S. law enforcement activities in Mexico became shackled and undermined by Mexican government actions." Interesting, the Mexican government was working with Trump, huh? Also interesting that it started in 2019 just before before Covid hit, HUH? Odd that since Biden, they didn't resume. I WONDER WHY? Go look at the articles suggestions on what the US should do. Secure the border is one of the suggestions, as well as boost resources at the ports of entry and CBP (things conservatives have been saying to do). They also suggest using US agencies, within the US to help track down illegal activity. We had a group doing that not too long ago... I believe it was ICE. Help me out here, what has ICE been doing the last 3 years??? On a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being a complete moron and 10 being galactically stupid, where do you think you fall on that scale? -

You guys can talk about what should or shouldn't happen, but the results will never change. The method may, but not the results. This country's population is the problem, period. As a country, people are too lazy, spoiled, and entitled and no laws restricting guns, immigration, healthcare, etc., will ever change that. All these topics are simply hot buttons to keep people talking about nonsense while the politicians and the uber-wealthy live in their gated community 7-figure homes, far away from us. -
Yeah, I think that's a good gauge.
-
I don't disagree. I do think his floor is higher than someone like Watson. Murray only missed one year, not like Watson who missed two years. Overall, Arizona's defense is rather crappy... I mean, look at what the Giants did to them. So I'm thinking that Atlanta should be able to put points on the board, especially since running is their strength and it's Arizona's biggest weakness. Because of that, I think that while Arizona will want to be a bit more conservative, they're going to be forced at some point to throw more than they'd prefer. That's why I think Murray might be able to throw for 250, but I'd be surprised if he went much over that.
-
Lamar is only a "must start" if he runs. He's a bad passing QB, so if he's not getting you 10+ points on the ground, he's a QB2.
-
I expect to be as bad a qb as before... possibly worse. Fortunately, reality doesn't matter in fantasy football. Atlanta is pretty good against the pass, so I'll put Murray at 185 yards passing (maybe a TD), but I'd expect about 50 yards rushing and 1 TD (maybe more)... so, about 18 point. I could see a scenario where they'll want him to be reserved with rushing. If that happens, he may throw for 250 and rush for only 15 or so yards (scrambling), which could mean no TD's at all.
-
I don't think it changes, honestly. Jones isn't good. The Giants were best served to get the ball out of Jones' hand a.s.a.p., with any and every other QB they have, that should still be the goal. Handoffs and dump offs should be a priority.
-
Oh, so comprehension is the issue? [shocker!!!] You misunderstood. I wasn't saying that Gabbert is/was good. I was saying that Lawrence is a backup, much like Gabbert. At that point, when we're talking about QB's in the 40-50, take you're pick on who you want. Also, I don't think you can call someone a "homer", when they're right a LOT. My guess is that you didn't like that my opinions differed from your eyes and I was right more often. Sorry I hurt your feelings Mr. Nah-uh.
-
The way Jones has been playing? Don't see why not. Even if DeVito is beyond terrible, that's only a slight downgrade.... maybe.
-
LOL, and you have the nerve to call other people homers.
-
Always blows when someone gets hurt. One thing the Giants can be thankful for though, is that regardless of who comes in to play QB, there'll be no drop off.
-
I think it could be both. He knows a dumpster fire when he sees one, but he's willing to be a part of it if someone's willing to pay him.
