No they aren't, they (apparently), elected Biden. -
Yeah, Bowles is a terrible HC, but I think (ok, I hope), he learned his lesson last year with Leftwich. Their new OC was the QB coach in Seattle the last few years and worked with both Wilson and Smith. If this coach and that system can make Geno Smith a high producing QB, then I think Trask at least has the same ability as him and should be at least a competent starter (Mayfield sucks azz, he won't start many, if any, games this year... unless Trask gets hurt). A lot of what I saw, heard, and read has said Trask is having a better camp than Mayfield. Mayfield is starting tonight, and I'm guessing they're going to give Trask the start next week. Again, guessing, that the starter for game 3 will be the starter for Week 1. That said, there's not a lot of player turnover. They moved on from their LT (Donovan Smith), who was good, but not special. They drafted Wirffs to be the future LT and now he's going to be. Jensen is back at Center as are the rest of the guys who were hurt last year. This won't be a top 3 OLine like 2020/2021, but it should be between 11-15, slightly better than average. I think White is better than Fournette. Godwin, Evans, and Russell are back and their TE's from last year were rookies and going into year 2. There's almost no turnover of consequence on offense outside of QB. I think the biggest change is a massive upgrade at Offensive Coordinator. As for the defense, the only 3 key players they lost were Rakeem Nunez-Roches, Sean Murphy-Bunting, Mike Edwards. On defense, I expect pretty much every level to be at least, better than average, like the OLine, between 11-15. Overall, that's why I see them being slightly better than average, a 9-8 team. I think Mayfield is on borrowed time.

I had/have him in my keeper league. I noticed that too last year.

A lot of people think Tampa's going to stink, like 4 or 5 wins, but even with Jameis Winston who isn't even an NFL QB, they won 7 games with this team. Mayfield is a solid backup in the NFL, and after he gets benched during the bye week (week 5), and Trask takes over, they'll be a better team. I'm thinking the Bucs win about 8 or 9 games this year. White has no competition in the backfield for touches (well, he does, but not really... Chase Edmonds will certainly get used to spell White, but he's not taking touches away). Godwin and Evans are still on the team and the OLine is at least healthy right now and will be better than last year. I see White garnering around 18 total touches per game, probably more. Tampa's new OC was the QB coach in Seattle last year and has been there with Wilson and Geno Smith, so I expect this offense to be better than last year with that bum Leftwich. When you look at the offense that Seattle ran the last few years, they have no problem giving their starting RB 20+ carries a game. Last year, Walker had 6 games with 20+ carries and 9 games with 17+ targets... note, he only started 11 games. In 2021, Penny had 6 starts (got hurt on the 2nd play in one of them), in the other 5 starts, he had 17+ touches in 4 or them and over 20 carries in 2. In Collins' first 3 starts, he had 17+ touches in each game and over 20 carries in one. Carson had 10 games with 17+ targets in 2020. If White stays healthy, I expect 18+ touches a game. Here's my projection for White (on average)... With Mayfield... 12 carries per game at 3.9 ypc, with 5 targets/4 receptions for 30 yards and 1 total TD's. (I'm expecting 4 games)... about 12 fpg With Trask... 15 carries per game at 4.3 ypc, with 5 targets/3 receptions for 25 yards and 10 total TD's (I'm expecting 13 games).... about 14.5 fpg So with Mayfield, I'd say he's mid-range RB3 and with Trask a high end RB2/low end RB1. If that helps you on who you should keep, good.

I'm going the other way, compared to the rest of the boards thinking that Williams is the better choice. Yeah, Williams had an ACL and has a suspension, but he did/does have first round talent and displayed it at the highest level in college. Also, ACL tears aren't as big of an issue for WR's as they are for RB's, he should be able to rebound quite well. Look at Cooper Kupp who tore his ACL in 2018. From an injury standpoint, I'm ok with him, especially now that it's 20 months later. As for the suspension, that's more of just being a stupid 21/22 year old, because he wasn't betting on the Lions or NFL games. I believe him when he says he wasn't aware of the rules. To my knowledge, he's never been in trouble before and took ownership of the suspension, so I'm willing to look past it. On to football... last year in Green Bay, that was not a typical Aaron Rodgers/Green Bay Packers type season. Why? Drama? I have no idea. Something else that I have no idea about, is Jordan Love. Could the issue have been coaching? Last year they had a new OC, Stenavich, the prior 3 years it was Hackett. Love is LeFluer & Gutekunst's (GM), guy. This who they wanted, so come hell or high water, he's going to get at least 2 years... which could mean that you could see diminishing returns on Watson for 2 years. Looking more at the team, they didn't have much at WR last year or did they? Let's assume it wasn't coaching, it was the fact that Lazard isn't all that good, neither is/was Watkins, or Cobb. Let's also assume that the only real talent was Doubs & Watson. How'd they improve the WR room? I don't see anything. No contradiction, Lazard, Watkins, and Cobb aren't all that good, but they are NFL WR's (well, Cobb might not be at this point), but who did they get replaced by? Every single WR in Green Bay is either a 2nd year player or a rookie. Now, that in theory bodes well for Watson when it comes to targets, but what if Watson is the only guy that's even a capable WR? That means there's more of a likelihood that Love stares him down or looks his way too much and the defense gives him too much attention. You could see 2 years of "meh". Oddly, the Lions look to have a more appealing offense. This is Campbell's 3rd year with the team and it looks to be on the upswing. It's also Johnson's second year as the OC. A 2nd year where his first was quite impressive. He's making Jarred Goff look like an NFL QB. Their backfield looks a bit questionable to me, but my guess is they're putting a lot into the rookie. That may work out just fine because that's generally the fastest position to assimilate to. Something that won't happen in Green Bay is that opposite Williams will be an All-Pro WR that teams MUST account for. Teams won't be able to focus on stopping Williams. They also have Josh Reynolds who's a known capable player. Is he great? No, but he is someone that can catch the ball and move the chains. The longer they have the ball, the more chances guys have to put up numbers. To me, the Lions offense looks like it will be a more productive and efficient offense than the Packers.

My guess is that she's not interested. Don't be the next person to send a message, force her to contribute. If she doesn't, then you know she's not interested. Honestly though, it shouldn't be this difficult. I'd suggest moving on completely.

I agree, it can happen and will. I don't think there's any way around it. I think it's best if it's that way too. For the mass majority of men, this wouldn't be an issue, but I think the scum bags need to be held accountable. The guy had just as much of a say in having sex as the girl did, he has consequences as well. He should not have a get out of jail free card. To an extent, they both are equally involved... otherwise, one is raping the other, right? I understand the how this scenario sucks, more for men, but can suck for women. It's what we as a society should understand to be a necessary evil. If we start giving me the ability to bang chicks without recourse, too many bad things are going to happen... and it's going to suck for the rest of us more than the people involved. If the abortion issue stays under the governments foot, they're only forever be an ideological war where everyone loses. A fight like your asserting is basically going to create a bigger problem where you're giving the man more power in the situation. That's a BAD thing. Very bad. The best way to handle this is, her body, her choice, HER money. The woman should have no legal recourse to get money from the guy to have the abortion. If he wants to help, fine, if not... it's her dime. It's about $1k, probably less. If the claim by the left that it's cheaper for society to kill the kid than force the woman to have it, I can claim that it's cheaper for her to kill the kid than have it. Pay the money and do it.
-
In theory, yes, but we know in real life, the answer is no. It's no because no one has the right to force anyone to do something they don't want to do. Sucks, but it's true. I do think that the flipside should be accounted for too. If the woman doesn't want the abortion, but the man does, she can't force him to have any responsibility that he doesn't want... but that won't fly either.
-
The abortion issue is so stupid. It doesn't even belong under the governments purview. It's an elective medical procedure, plain and simple. Is a women killing her child? Yes, but as long as she's paying for it and is ok with being a murderer, then have at it. I don't even care when she does it. Murder is murder... be it at 9 minutes or 9 months. But hey, your body, your choice, your money.

Yeah, the way the Tech school is being handled is a good thing for everyone, I'm actually surprised. Yes, currently VHS has about the same enrollment as the year before CCTec opened, but there was a drop in between, though not a big one. I'm guessing that's probably the same for most school districts? But CCTech pulls from the entire county and only has 1k students, so while there are probably more kids from Vineland who go there, they may not be the majority of the whole. Vineland has a high Hispanic count because of the farming. I think it would be foolish to not think that there's a constantly growing Hispanic population because of that. So yes, it's possible to that the student body's family income is lower. But, there's not less money going to the school because over 81% of the budget comes from the state and 6% from DC. Only 13% is local. The vast majority of the local tax money is coming from East Vineland, which is highly populated with wealthy white people. So, even though less than 20% of the VHS student body is white, they're still carrying the local heavy lifting. Vineland has a LOT of Section 8 housing. That number grows every year... it probably accounts for why the school enrollment isn't much lower than it was in 2016, and probably confirms your thought that the median income is going down. But like I said, not much is local tax money.

Oh, I don't disagree with that the kids of poor parents are at a disadvantage, but I don't think restricting school choice hurts them. In fact, I'd even argue that school choice helps them. Why? Because it keeps the teacher/student ratio down. Kids who have a harder time learning, benefit from having more time with the teacher. The more kids in your school equals less time for each kid. I'd even argue that it would be even worse because teachers will gravitate more towards the better students and would be more likely to neglect the kids who are struggling. What I think hurts the kids more from the crappy parents is their lack of putting a focus on education. What I like about the Tech schools here are that it mitigates the lazy/crappy parent affect. The Tech schools are public schools... all you have to do is test for it to get in. That helps the kids of the crappy parents because the kids take the tests in 8th grade. Every kid gets a test. You don't have to register, sign up, or apply... you just take the test. If you get in, then your in. You get on the bus in the morning just like every other kid, and go to school. The parents don't really have to do anything.
