You still get over being owned on that, can you? You keep doubling, tripling, quadrupling... down on that. That is too funny.

I took OP's word for it. Meh. With that being the case, the left really made it a bigger issue than it should be, did they not?

The answer is YES. He did lie. I paraphrased.

It doesn't matter to the FCC. I won't disagree with your claim about Garrett. I'm ok with the FCC stepping in.

What Five Words Can Get You Laid

Just more evidence to support my assertion that the worst political party to ever exist on the planet, is the current version of the Democrat party. Thanks. Surprised it came from you.

    Tucked or Untucked?

Both. Depends on when it's necessary and when it's not.

    Left or Right?

    That's why I voted "Right".

    Jimmy Kimmel fired

I think they fired him for financial reasons, it just looked better for their political side to make it look like the government caused it. That aside, to your points... 1. It doesn't matter that his show is a comedy show... though, one would contend that the show would have to be funny for it to qualify as a comedy show. But, I digress. He wasn't making a joke. He was making a statement. 2. The fact that this topic exists, provides an example of public harm, I would think. Does it not? Kimmel's statement was political rhetoric attacking one side based on misinformation, was it not? Isn't that what got Trump shot at twice, what got Hortman killed, what got Kirk killed? Isn't that thing that people are claiming needs to stop? Also, the only thing the FCC wanted was for Kimmel (to pretend), to apologize. That's all. How do we know that? Because that's all that happened and he's back on the air. They weren't trying to silence him.

If that's the benchmark, why stop at Trump? That's every politician. Yeah, I said "every", not just some. To answer your question, it's because that's not under the purview if the FCC.

You're correct... I paraphrased and quoted him. My bad. The point remains, Kimmel lied. Kimmel said: “We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang trying to characterize this kid who killed Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it.” A couple of things... 1) When has a far leftist ever say say "MAGA" and NOT refer to that person being a Trump supporter? 2) When saying "trying to characterize... anything other than one of them", isn't that saying this kid "IS a Trump supporter? The answers to those questions (in order), is: Never and Yes. So, my paraphrase was correct, I just shouldn't have quoted it. Again, my bad. So... again.... he lied, on purpose, about news related topics concerning a crime.

You're saying it's wrong? Or are you saying it's a stupid reason why everything happened?

During his monologue, he said that "...the shooter was a pro-Trump Republican". It was already reported earlier that this was not the case. According to FCC guidelines, that's a big no-no. From that pdf: "The FCC prohibits broadcasting false information about a crime or a catastrophe if the broadcaster knows the information is false and will cause substantial “public harm” if aired." Meaning, he lied on air, about a news topic. He did it on purpose. It was intentional. Also in link: "Broadcasting false content during news programming The FCC is prohibited by law from engaging in censorship or infringing on First Amendment rights of the press. It is, however, illegal for broadcasters to intentionally distort the news, and the FCC may act on complaints if there is documented evidence of such behavior from persons with direct personal knowledge." The FCC only brought this to the attention of Sinclair/ABC/Disney... they're the ones who took action, not the FCC.

After actually looking into it, Trump (even though he didn't actually do anything... it was the FCC), didn't do anything wrong. Kimmel broke the law. The FCC told Sinclair/ABC/Disney, and the companies suspended him. That's not censorship.

Kimmel broke the law. Even with free speech, you can't break the law.

Troll, more accurately. Everyone knows Kimmel was lying. He only said that because he lied initially, on purpose, on air, and broke the law. He had to make the fake apology because he done focked up. Gutterboy is just trolling because even he knows Kimmel didn't actually mean anything he said.

    Libs...First Amendment!!!! derp derp

Duh, it's wrong when both sides do it... it's just only wrong for both sides AFTER an accusation that a Republican does it... oh, and only the Republican is a fascist.

I don't think he'll care. He'll probably say something, because that's what he does. It's what all people in DC do.

So the government didn't get him fired? There's no problem then.

    Jimmy Kimmel fired

Kimmel has a union who could fight for him. Kimmel has an employer who could fight for him. Neither chose to do so. Private citizens have no such advocate. Also, social media platforms can alter their terms of service whenever they want and enact them retroactively, at their own discretion. Kimmel was fired because he sucked and his employer is using the government as a scapegoat. Kimmel should be ticked off, first and foremost at his union FIRST, then his former employer second. Then himself... then, if he has any more dbagery left in him, he can blame Trump.
