Biden going pardon and clemency crazy

I agree with this. I think that Presidents should be forced to do these things earlier in their team. Time needs to be given, but not 4 years. I'm pretty confident that there are people advocating for some of these prisoners and they need to be able to present their arguments to the President. The thing is, with a possible new president every 4 years, they potentially have to convince a new person(s), every 4 years. I think all pardons and commutations should happen before the expiration of the sitting presidents 2nd year in office.

Sam Darnold is losing millions of dollars!

Yeah, I think the wise move for the Vikings is to give him a deal that they can either move from (via release or trade), but also one the can extend, like Mayfield's (as long as they don't do something stupid like Tampa did and add voidable years to the deal). Play him next year and re-evaluate both him and McCarthy after the 2025 season. If Darnold has another good season, maybe they choose to trade McCarthy. If there's a team who had a high grade on McCarthy who missed out on him in the 2024 draft and needs a QB for the 2026, they will part with a 1st round pick. Seattle is actually a team that comes to mind. Geno Smith is about to enter the last year of his contract.

Sam Darnold is losing millions of dollars!

I never argued that he was getting paid, I simply said that Darnold this year was better than Mayfield last year, and why I used the numbers I did. What can you point to where Mayfield last year was better than Darnold this year?

    Did Lamar Jackson graduate kindergarten?

Of course there's a (D)iffrence, we already knew that. LOL The problem is that your (D)ifference is contrived. No one mentioned anything about race except you and the board jester. You chose to insert your opinions into someone else's and accused them of something they weren't intending. What you did was akin to blaming your boyfriend (or husband), for cheating on you... in your dream, and holding him accountable for it.

Wait a minute there... you think that if someone says, "I just hope that God delivers me from all of these Pick-6's, because that's not who I am", that they're not a smart person?

    Did Lamar Jackson graduate kindergarten?

Got it. So it's ok to make fun of certain people and it's subjective based on your own personal beliefs. Does that mean people would be justified in calling you a bigot then?

I'll eagerly await your chastisement for when people make fun of Trump.

Sam Darnold is losing millions of dollars!

None of that matters. In 2022 Mayfield, with his 20+ td season in 2020 only got a 1 year $8.5M deal. Darnold's was actually slightly better at $10M. In 2023, Mayfield barely broke 4k yards and had 28 TD's. He also had a passer rating of 94.6 and QBR of 54.3... both of those were worse than 2020. This season, Darnold threw for 300 more yards and 7 more TD's than Mayfield did and his passer rating and QBR were both higher. Darnold played with more inferior talent than Mayfield did when he was in Cleveland. When they were both in Carolina, Darnold was better.

Sam Darnold is losing millions of dollars!

Darnold's 2024 season was better than Mayfield's 2023 season. I'm not sure what people thought he was going to get 3 weeks ago, but my guess is that his deal will be about the same as Mayfield's, if not slightly better. Of course, it's all about need and options. I have no idea of what Vikings are even considering with the QB position. They drafted McCarthy in the first round last year and I doubt their evaluation of him changed. The only evaluation that probably changed, was of Darnold. To that point, how much changed in the last 3 weeks though? I have no idea. I think there's a real possible chance that the Vikes tag Darnold to make sure they have someone in place to start the season as to not push their first round pick to rush back from injury. If they re-sign him or someone else signs him, as I said above, I can see him getting a deal similar to Mayfield... 3 for $100M. I think the wise move would be to re-sign him and structure the deal so that Darnold gets $30M in signing bonus with a $5M base in 2025. I'd structure the deal to be $70M over 3 years where Y1 has a $5M base, Y2 with $30M, and Y3 with $35M. Spread out the $30M bonus money over 3 years at $10M per. That way, in 2025, Darnold's cap hit is $15M. In 2026, it'll be $40M and $45M in 2027. The reason for that is so that after the 2025 season, the Vikings can either release or trade Darnold and only have a $20M dead cap hit for 2026. It guarantees them one more season with a QB that than ran it well in 2024 and a safety net in case there are any setbacks with McCarthy. The added advantage to this type of deal is that it makes him reasonably easy to trade and get value. If Darnold regresses back to what he was in NY and Carolina, then they can just release him with a small cap hit... but if he plays well, a team probably wouldn't be opposed with parting with a 2nd round pick for a decent QB who will only cost $30M one year and $35M the next with no long term handcuffs. It also makes for an easy restructure if he plays well.

The one and only good thing about the Brewers. Very sad. One of my absolute favorites. He will be missed
  14. I personally think it's absurd that people are allowed to post videos of other people without their permission. I don't care if they're in public or not. You want to record it, fine, but don't post it online. If the cops want it, you have it. If multiple people witnessed it, then that's fine, but if it's only 1 person/party, like in this case... the person who put that online should 100% be liable for any outcomes. I'm ok with anyone sharing them, being held responsible as well. Imagine how fast this crap stops if 2.5M people go to jail for like 6 months, for something like this. That'll fix a lot of crap, real fast.

    LBJ ordered hit on JFK

I don't know or care if he was the "brains" behind the operation, I just fully believe it was his idea and told people to make it happen. No one would say that it's smart to put the wheels in motion to assassinate a sitting (or any), president.

    The Nomination Questioning Of Hegseth

That dumb broad has been in Congress for 18 years, even you, in 18 years could accomplish the pittance that she did. You calling Trump unrepentant and no one else is an indictment on your ignorance. He's 1 of 537, not 1 of 1 like you commies believe.

    The Nomination Questioning Of Hegseth

Meanwhile Congress can't find or mismanaged 3X that and Congress is sitting high and mighty on what HE couldn't do. Sorry, she and the rest of them can go fock themselves on the hypocrisy.

    The Nomination Questioning Of Hegseth

Yeah, I never questioned how it works. Yeah, she did, like I said, she spent it calling him out for things that she's even more guilty of and grandstanding while doing it... and people here (who I was talking about), are pumping their fists over it.
  21. TBayXXXVII

    The Nomination Questioning Of Hegseth

Exactly. Because of what you see in the "news", social media, and alike, the people who are actually qualified to do these jobs are sitting at home with their families making a ton of money and alienating themselves from the mess that come from our corporate politicians. The ones who take on these roles are pretty much the next tier narcists that think they're smarter than what they really are. I think even a dipstick like you could do the same job (at that efficiency), as the dope you voted for in your state.

Right, ignoring the irony that she isn't qualified for the one she has.

    The Nomination Questioning Of Hegseth

I'm not taken aback by anything going on in that process, I just find it funny how some people she killed him on mismanagement of a few million dollars when she and her cohorts are responsible for mismanaging TRILLIONS of dollars.
  24. TBayXXXVII

    The Nomination Questioning Of Hegseth

That's right, they approve budgets and always go over them without verifying why and then still cut the bigger check. They then spend multiple trillions of dollars without batting an eye. Again, all of them, do this. Every second of every day, there are 537 elected officials in Washington DC that actually don't care about money. They just do whatever and raise taxes or go in debt.... then grandstand about the other side doing it. So, when it comes to money mismanagement, NONE of them, should ever sit and talk down to someone else like they're above it. I think everyone who's in all of these positions are out of their depths. He's no different. I know you're going to tell me why he's (D)ifferent, but all you're going to do is give a reason that can be given towards every other person from every other administration. I mean, aren't you concerned that about a person sitting in the highest level of our judicial branch can't even tell you what a woman is?
