Thoughts on Fruit Loops back in Dallas?

Freeman has been a bad RB his whole career. Dowdle's been in the league 3 seasons and got 90% of his total carries (which is still less than 100), last season. Elliott's been in the league 7 seasons with over 2000 carries and 2400 total touches. Who do you think needs more work in camp?

Thoughts on Fruit Loops back in Dallas?

Who do you think is going to get carries? Last year he got over 230 from New England in a RBBC role. Last year, Dallas ran the ball 468 times, 531 the year before that, 473 the prior year, and in 2020, 430 times. So, I think it's safe to say that they're going to run the ball about 475 times. So, if the starting point is 475 and we'll knock of 75 for QB runs and gadget plays, leaving us with 400. Who's getting what? You don't think Elliott is getting at least half? If not, why? Who? Like I said, if you think there's someone on that roster or group of someone's getting 200+ carries, I'd love to know who and the rationale. Yes, I think RB29 and RB3/4 going in the 9th/10th round seems perfectly reasonable to me. When do you take your 3rd or 4th RB? Of course he has to stay healthy, everyone does. Elliott has played in at least 15 games in 7 of his 8 years... he played in all 17 last year (with 235 total touches). Why do you think he'll all of a sudden just get hurt and miss, I don't know... 5 games or more? Again, yes, he will be TD dependent... just like every other RB3/4. How many RB3's or 4's that you know of, aren't TD dependent? How are you constructing your team? Are you waiting until the last 2 rounds (before the kicker and defense), to take your lotto pick RB3 and RB4? If so, that's fine. I just think most of us aren't going to take that route. Mike has Dallas' breakdown as... Ezekiel Elliott: 186 Rico Dowdle: 100 Malik Davis: 38 Deuce Vaughn: 19 That's 343 rush attempts by RB's. Let's give QB's and trick plays 75, bringing us to 418. With the expectation of 475, who's getting the other 57 carries plus the I don't know, 30 extra that you don't think Elliott is getting? Who's accounting for 80 carries? Dowdle? You think he gets the 180 based on him saying they're in a committee? If so, I guess we know who your lottery ticket guy is. I've read your posts, they're well thought out and backed up. You're not like "Mr. Nuh uh" on these boards who just says 'you're wrong' and doesn't give any rebuttal. Don't be like him here. Just because Dowdle says he and Freeman are getting a lot of reps with the 1's, I'm not buying that. Mike McCarthy: McCarthy says they're a RBBC, but he expects Elliott to be what he was. In the 3 years Elliott was in Dallas with McCarthy, his average season was 237 carries & 38 receptions. No, I don't think Elliott will get 275 total touches, but I think he'll hit 225.

In general I agree, but metrics go out the window when there's uncontested volume. Let's not pretend that Rhamondre was tearing it up before he got hurt. He was only averaging 4.0 ypc., his catch% was similar to Elliott's, and didn't score on any of his receptions. You criticized Rachaad White because his metrics were bad, but the volume produced a top 5 RB. In fantasy football, volume is everything, metrics only matter when you're comparing apples to apples... that's not what this is. You're comparing a split duty RB on a bad team with a terrible offense and equating that to a starting RB on a good team with a good line. I know you, don't care about offensive lines. Now, if you're going to tell me that there's going to be a RB outside of Elliott that will command a lot of touches, I'm all ears. As I see it, Deuce Vaughn isn't likely to get many carries, neither would I expect much from Freeman or anyone else. Now, Dowdle's name has popped up a few times. If you think and/or have info on why and how he's going to get a good chunk of playing time, post what you have. In Dallas in 2021 and 2022 that you're poo pooing his metrics, he was RB7 and RB22 those years. Remember, no one here is claiming that Elliott is a RB1 or RB2... so if Elliott could be an RB1 or RB2 with terrible metrics in Dallas, why can't he be a legit RB3 or RB4 worthy of a 9th or 10th round pick? What "lottery ticket" are you going to get there? Gus Edwards, Chase Brown, Jerome Ford?
  4. I wouldn't do it, but I wouldn't fault anyone else if they did it. It could work out.

I am in agreement with you here.

Caleb Williams is the real deal.

Then you're reading and hearing things I'm not. I listen to NFL Radio and the Fantasy sports channel all the time on Sirius and every host on every show is saying that Young needs more help. That he can't do it alone. It's pretty much the same thing they said about Fields, and I believe that's fair. I don't blame Bears fans either. They gave him 1 year with DJ Moore, that's it. They draft Williams, and then draft Odunze and trade for Keenan Allen, plus add another 3rd round OL. The talent around Williams is already 5x better than what Fields ever had to work with. On top of that, they fire his HC and OC after Y1. Going further, the OC that Eberflus hired, he's gone now too. Keep in mind, Y2, Fields got MVP votes. The Bears could've gotten a mint for that #1 pick. They could've been set up for great drafts for 3 years.

You're not wrong yet. I think Trent Dilfer has it right. You don't truly know who your QB is until after about 40 starts... he might even be underselling that.

Elliott's ADP is 104 as RB36, that's pick 9.8 in a 12-team league. That's not a bad spot to take an RB3/4 who could give you RB2 numbers here and there... just gotta hope that it's when you need it. But, isn't that the same with every RB3/4? I mean, if they were more reliable/predictable, they'd be an RB2, no? It's not like Elliott's going in Round 7 or something where you're expecting to start him every week.

    Fair assessment.

Caleb Williams is the real deal.

Let's be honest, how many people aren't apologists for their fist round rookie QB during the first few years? Bryce Young was worse last year than Fields ever was... I've heard almost ZERO criticism about him. Also, Fields did get MVP votes in his 2nd year.

    Najee Harris -vs- Jaylen Warren

I'd take Harris as an RB3. Being a contract year and not having his 5th year option being picked up, I'd think he'd be ready to prove everyone wrong. I'd take Warren as a RB4/5 because I think he's best used as a complimentary back, not a lead back. I certainly wouldn't take both.
  13. No, it's seeing a lost cause and knowing when to walk away. You hate America and you want it to go towards Communism, that's why you vote for those people. It's why I suggested you go to a communist country. I even gave you an option of Canada, as a step or short (because I'm a nice guy). Go there and hate America from the outside instead of the inside.

Thoughts of Justin Jefferson this year

Looks to me like you're arguing just to argue. Seems like we think the same about him. See my above post.

Thoughts of Justin Jefferson this year

So let me get this straight, this is the second thread you've debated me on Jefferson and this post right here agrees with what I said in both threads. In the other thread, I said (and I quote: "I think he's a top 7 guy, but unlikely to be top 3... a shot at top 5". You think he's needs to fall to 11 or 12, for you to take him. Right now, ADP shows that WR6 is going off the board at pick 9, meaning that if you took Jefferson at #11, he'd be WR7... which is exactly what I said. In this thread, I said that Darnold isn't good enough to make him a WR1. I don't think Darnold is the QB all season, do you? I also said in my summation that Jefferson is too good for that. I said I wouldn't take him in the 1st round. Right now, ADP shows that WR7 is going at pick #13. In most leagues, Pick #13 is not in the first round. So, where do we differ?

Where did I say that Jefferson "won't finish top 12 in WR scoring". See, the reason I ask is because I had to copy/paste your post because I didn't find it in mine?

Thoughts of Justin Jefferson this year

Your stats don't matter, only his feeling do. Also, Sean McVay and O'Connell are great, they can make him better (even though Goff is better in Detroit than in LA), shhhhh.

Thoughts of Justin Jefferson this year

Hey, if you guys want to pretend that Darnold doesn't stink... his contract and situation should lead you to believe that the Vikings think that too (he has a 1 year deal worth $10M and they spent the #10 pick overall on his replacement), then go right ahead. I think Jefferson is an elite talent that should lead people to believe that he'll put up WR1 numbers, and he might. I'm not banking on it. I'm not putting any faith in Darnold. McCarthy? Maybe. I'm not out on him, I just don't know enough about him. If he ends up being the starter Day 1, I'm more likely to buy Jefferson in the first round than if it's Darnold. And yes, he does stink. He's proved it over and over and over and over again.

Thoughts of Justin Jefferson this year

Sam Darnold isn't as good as Nick Mullens. Their inclination is that Darnold isn't good enough to throw it to him 10 times a game. This is a fact you apparently CHOOSE to over look.

Thoughts of Justin Jefferson this year

I said this in another thread, that I don't think Jefferson gets 10+ targets a game. The QB situation is the main reason, plus they have other competent weapons like Addison, Tonyan (Hock, when he's healthy), and added Aaron Jones. It's no so much that they're great options, it's that Darnold isn't going to complete 20 passes per game, where Jefferson gets like 7 and the others get 13. I'm pretty sure Darnold is in place only until they feel McCarthy is ready. This isn't a team who's going to throw 35+ times a game and complete 25+ passes, nor score a lot of TD's. For his career as a starter (65 starts), Darnold's average game (approximates), is 19-31 (60%), for 210 yards, with 1 TD and 1 Int. In order for Jefferson to be a top half WR1 (top 6), he'd need to score about 18 fantasy points per week. Darnold generates 44 points for his pass catcher, meaning Jefferson would need to account for about 41% of what Darnold produces. For reference, Amon-Ra St. Brown averaged 20.7 fpg last year and he accounted for 35.6% of what Goff produced (58 points). Let's look back to Jefferson's 2022 (128/1809/8), season where he averaged 19.7 fantasy points per game. Vikings QB's accounted for, get this, 58 points per game, just like Goff last year (just so we're clear, Goff threw 605 of the teams 606 passes last year). So, St. Brown last year was pretty much Jefferson 2022. If Jefferson gets 36% (which is 2% better than 2022), of the points that Darnold generates, that's 15.84 fantasy points per game... 13 WR's did better than that last year (12 if you don't count Mike Williams who only played 3 games). All that to show, Darnold isn't good enough to make Jefferson a fantasy WR1. How long until McCarthy plays? I don't know. Will he be better? I don't know... my guess though is, doesn't he have to be? Me, I'd say that Jefferson's talent is good enough to keep him in the WR1 tier, but I wouldn't take him. He's on my DND list. He'll go in the first round and I'm not spending that on a guy who's QB doesn't even have the ability to make him a WR1. In 17 games with Sam Darnold as a starter, DJ Moore averaged 8.35 targets, 4.94 receptions, 69.35 yards, and 0.41 td's per game, good for 14.35 fpg.
  21. So you're saying she's scared? Makes sense.
  22. Yes you did. You said it when you condone your sides actions and condemn the other side. You are proving your reign as King Hypocrite. Congrats.

    WR Aiyuk: Trade Me

I think that's why they're trying to trade him... to avoid this.
  25. So yes, you can do it, but other's can't. Got it.
