Bet he had a better year than the backup. -

I see him in the same vein as Winston... tons of talent, just not enough upstairs. The football "IQ" may be there in the classroom, but it doesn't translate on field. At best, he's a backup, just like Winston. Honestly, I think Jason Licht lucked out on Winston. He brought in Arians who proved to the world that Winston isn't a starter and on top of that, by a miracle, Tom Brady became available. I think that the Bucs hired someone other than Arians to be the HC in 2019, Licht might have given Winston an extension. UGH!! The Jags should've just picked up his 5th year option and let things play out. If they did that, I think they approach this years draft with the possibility of drafting a QB. Now, I don't follow college football so I don't know how many QB's will be considered 1st round picks. But looking at the top 5, there legitimately should be 4 teams looking to draft a QB... but because one of them is Cleveland and another is Jacksonville, I think both Tennessee and the Giants will be in good shape to grab the guy they like... providing someone doesn't jump up. -
Another embarrassment for Mike Johnson

What, the 2021 season where Brady played like a 45 year old and 24 year old Trevor Lawrence had the one year he didn't stink? Sure, you got that one right, but Lawrence is garbage and the Jags screwed up by giving him that deal. -

Oh, I think so as well, I just enjoy the irony of it all. -
I believe a couple years ago I used https://thesecondseason.com/, but I don't really think it's worth it. I'm pretty good with Excel and with only a handful of games and players, it's very easy to just run my own and not pay a website to do it. It's only $20, so some people may think it's not a big deal... which it isn't. I just don't think I need to use it. Good site though. No complaints.

That just means you're wrong a lot. Good for you to be willing to admit that. -

How funny will it be on Jan 6th when Harris has to verify the election of Trump beating her? -
Companies hire people with degrees because the law requires certain accreditation. Meaning, a random person can't sign off on engineering plans. Only a person who graduated with a degree and has their PE is legally allowed to do so (I know that's the case in NJ... I'm assuming its all or at least most states as well). If you owned an engineering firm and had some random employee who worked 25 years for you and knows just as much as an engineer and something went wrong, not only will your company get sued, you personally would get sued, and you might even go to jail. If a certified engineered signed off on it, your insurance would pay off any debt and you go to work the next day.

Thus proving your lack of awareness. Many have been doing it to emulate liberals since 2008. -

I think it's obvious why. #1 that's a real estate website that uses state released crime data, not federal and #2 is because towns, especially liberal run towns, don't release accurate data. Peenie just posted the list of the highest murder rates in the US (source unknown), where Chicago is #10. You'd think that if a city were in the top 10 of murder rate, they'd be in the top 25 of most dangerous, would you not? -
Of course companies require it, it's because no one wants to get sued. lol

Agreed, I think that's what @Cdub100's point is. That's why I believe he asked if it's "worth it". An example would be a cousin of mine. He went online and learned how to do a grading plan for his property. He paid an engineer $500 to sign off on it. He later bought a large property and learned out to survey it and subdivided it into 8 lots and sold the lots off one-by-one. He didn't need anything, just a surveyor and civil engineer to sign off on the plans. It cost him $4k to make $320k. Why go to school for 4 or 5 years and spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to be a civil engineer when you can learn to do the bulk of the work by reading stuff online? With AI, as he stated in the OP, it'll be even easier in the future. Even for many of the high end professional jobs, the value of the degree won't be as high as it is now... yet, I'm willing to bet that the cost of the education/degree will increase. I think too many people convince kids they need to go to college to get a degree instead of telling them to go to a trade school, community college, or the military. All are more financially more responsible than jumping to a 4-year degree program.

I think "worth it" is subjective. Like you, I think it's necessary in certain fields and not in others. But when it comes to being "worth it", I think that's debatable even for things that are necessary. The costs for things like being a doctor, nurse, lawyer, accountant, etc, college is necessary. With the internet though, as well as databases and what not, is the cost worth what you're getting? Maybe, I'm just not so sure.

New Jersey Teachers, Mooney is now qualified!!!
TBayXXXVII replied to RaiderHaters Revenge's topic in The Geek Club
They'd probably get more people if they didn't require a degree or teaching certificate... just be able to pass the Basic Skills test. That way, you open the position up to people who have the knowledge to teach, just not the certification or degree. Meaning, a person who is an engineer probably has the ability to teach math at a certain level, but doesn't have an education degree or teaching certification. Have that person pass the Basic Skills test and give that person a job to the level which they're qualified. Then, in the summer, make it so that these people can get their certifications at NJ colleges. This allows them to get the job without having to quit working to go to school, and maintain an income. Give them a period of time to get the necessary documentation and you're likely to get more applicants. -
