And ... here we go again with a Colo. Baker not accomodating all patrons
TBayXXXVII replied to Engorgeous George's topic in The Geek Club
Sure, but that analogy doesn't fly because religious beliefs are protected under the constitution and while political views are not. Hence, why I focused on the aspect of privacy. The two only jive in the sense that they're private events and not public. -

The cake is for a private event... not public. If a person wants a swastika on a sign for a private event, then there are no violations to community standards or hate speech. -

The baker is injecting his religious beliefs, which is constitutionally protected, not his political beliefs which are NOT constitutionally protected. I haven't followed your back and forth that much in the thread, so maybe I'm missing something. If so, my bad. -

Could he argue that, being targeted by the plaintiff, she was responding to his beliefs and not actually asking for a generic routine innocuous task. -

You certainly wouldn't. LOL You know what's funny? Biden 40 years ago would've supported Donald Trump today. Biden 40 years ago, opposed illegal immigration (like Trump today) Biden 40 years ago, was racist (which liberals claim Donald Trump is today) Biden 40 years ago, opposed abortion (like Trump today) In 1988, Donald Trump told Oprah (a hard core lefty... as was/is her crowd), what he'd do if he were President. Back then, she supported his views and her crowd cheered along. Guess what, Trump did exactly those things when he got into office. What changed? Noticed, back in 1988 he was a standard Democrat with those views... today, with the SAME EXACT views, he's considered "alt-right". This is undeniable proof that not only has the right moved LEFT, that the left is completely far left. -
That's the right play.

When we know more about Irving, that's when I'd be more worried... or less, about White. I'd actually expect similar numbers from Mayfield. I believe the team will be about what they were last year, just the record won't be as good... I'm thinking 6 to 8 wins, where last year I had them 7 to 9. Forced to put a number on it, I'd say 7. Reason being, I because I think they'll be losing a little more often, I think they throw a little bit more. His efficiency may be worse than last year, but I'd still expect about 4k and 28 because the volume will still be there, if not higher. It's why I think White should still be ok if he's still getting the touches. He may lose a carry or two for say 4 ypc, but gain a reception. The net is already a plus, before we even put a yardage total on it. I'd put Mayfield down as mid-range QB2. I'd expect him to put up totals, similar to Tua. I'd say somewhere between 16 and 20.

So the complaint is that the intent of the colors of the frosting are irrelevant and that the baker should be forced to bake the cake for the customer or be found guilty of discrimination? -

I think the baker should counter sue for discrimination. He's being targeted for his religious beliefs. -
Biden issues executive order to protect undocumented immigrants who are married to American citizens for ten years or longer
TBayXXXVII replied to The Real timschochet's topic in The Geek Club
I don't have a problem with the executive order. To me, this is probably the easiest and best way to deal with this group of people. That said, the order doesn't sway me in either direction. If it never came into existence, I wouldn't have cared either. -
Don't let volume fool you on Mayfield. Yes, his yards and TD's were both in the top 10... for fantasy purposes, that's fine. As for the rest though, the vast majority of other metrics like comp% (19th), ypa (18th), QBR (19th), etc, he was in the bottom half of the league. He did that with 2 excellent WR's, a great pass catching RB, AND a top 10 pass blocking offensive line, I believe PFF had them 7th (someone else had them 9th or 10th, can't remember who though). Note, even with a top 10 pass blocking OLine, he still was sacked the 6th most in NFL... meaning, he's the bigger problem on the sack front, than his line is. Going further... Passing success rate: 20th Net yards per pass attempt: 18th On Target pass percentage: 20th But, as I said regarding @GobbleDog's assertions on White, white White isn't a great running, he certainly isn't the problem. If you think that the Bucs adequately addressed their run blocking issues (I showed him they were 31st in 2022 and 32nd in 2023 in run block win rate [which he's apparently ignoring... and that's fine]... and heard on the Fantasy sport channel (SiriusXM), that in each of the last 2 seasons, White was 26th or worse in yards gained before contract), and you think Mayfield is an adequate passer, then you should believe that White should be a legit RB1 this year. I'm not sure they did address all their needs and I'm not sold on Mayfield being an adequate QB. As of right now, I believe White will get similar touches to last year, so my suggestion is to rank him based on last year's performance and possible upgrades or downgrades of his supporting case. Also take note that last year they had one of the 7 easiest schedules and this year they're in the top 8.
-
Not sure yet. Not enough information on him as of right now.
-
To answer your question... yes, their OLine was crappy the last 2 years. In 2022, they ranked 31st in Run Blocking Win Rate, and 32nd last year. Chase Edmonds - 4.5 ypc (career pre-2023). Last year in Tampa, 3.6. You do realize that those numbers aren't really all that much higher than last year, right? Also, I said that's if you think the OL is better and that Mayfield doesn't stink.
-
Anyone who has lived in this country since 1776 with Democrat elected officials as their representative, has been victims of a long train of abuses.
-
Right, you're on the side of anti-Declaration of Independence... a.k.a, anti America.
-
Not saying White is a great runner, but he's a lot better than what people give him credit for. Tampa's iOL was complete trash last year. On runs designed up the middle, White averaged less than 1 yd before contact. Meaning, so matter how great of vision you have, you're not getting many yards. IF the Bucs are right about their OLine additions as well as their belief that Cody Mauch will have a big step forward, I think 4+ ypc isn't just reasonable, it should be expected. I also think he gets more carries than the 272 he had last year... that's at least until I see Irving play. Understand, I think Baker Mayfield is trash and the Bucs offense won't be effective because he won't be. That said, if by some miracle, he's a decent QB and the Bucs are able to move the ball and score more often than last year... that means the OLine is a lot better and the net result will be more production from White. Yes, I'm saying that White isn't the problem with that offense, it's the iOL and Mayfield. If White is the same player as last year with others around him improving, I'd expect about 70 receptions, 1700 total yards and 12 TD's. Note, that's not a huge increase, that's only 6 more receptions, 160 more total yards, and 3 more TD's. Summation... if you fade White because HE's the problem, you're making a mistake. If you're fading him because you think Mayfield and the iOL still stinks, then I'd agree with you and wouldn't blame you.
-
No, I'm saying you were. If that's the case, you should be ok with it, since the Declaration of Independence says that it's our responsibility to do it if we think the government is at fault.
-
That's right... only one side does it. Got it. Again, it's not a whataboutism, it's calling you a hypocrite for not being consistent. Typical, of your kind.
-
Apparently. You don't think this statement in the Declaration of Independence is valid: "But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security."
-
So wait, you guys are now don't just hate the Constitution, you now hate the Declaration of Independence too? Dudes, why not just leave the US then? Canada is that way.

Remember how your people tried to break into government buildings in 2020, across the country? Don't recall any calls of overthrowing the government that year. I do recall our current president and VP telling people to donate to bail funds for those arrested though. Weird, huh? I even recall a portion of Portland (I believe), that was literally seized by these people for what, 3 weeks? Remember when the liberals changed that situation from CHAZ (Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone), to CHOP (Capitol Hill Organized Protest), to downplay what actually happened? Yeah, good times.

The new slogan for the Democrat party should be: "Irony is our way of life".

So, forcing stores owned and operated by minorities are being targets by the government and controlling the hours of operation. Wonder when @The Real timschochet will be here to point out how this is systemic racism.....

Oh, you meant that ONE guy? When you said "these Trumpers", I thought you were referring to multiple people or people on the board.
