So? Eli for his career is 117-117... isn't that the very definition of "average"? Eli played 16 season... Carr 10. Let's say the Saints get a top 5 defense, improve their OLine, and over the next 6 seasons, nothing about Derek Carr's production changes. But, in those 6 seasons, they win 2 Super Bowls, and he wins the Super MVP twice. Does he then go from average to Hall of Famer, even though he's been the same player, just with a better team around him? Eli Manning was never really fantasy relevant either.

Eli Manning had 8 playoff wins in his career... some call it a HOF career. All 8 of those, in a 16 year career, came in 2 seasons. He was 0-4 otherwise. Meaning, he made the playoffs in only 6 of 16 seasons, and won games in 2 of them. Not saying Carr is an HOF'er (nor Eli). Not saying Carr is better than Eli. Just saying that pretty much all of Carr's metric's are solid. During Carr's time in Vegas (LA), you'll never find a season where the defense ranked in the top 20 in both yards and points against. Last year, they were top 10 in both defense and offense in points, both top 15 in yards. They had a winning record, the same record as Tampa, and lost out on a tie-breaker. Carr, in his career, hasn't been the problem. I'm not saying he IS the "solution", I'm just disagreeing with you that he IS the "problem".

THIS is the guy to have.

Meh, it's her first game.

WNBA players would be even more jealous and men still wouldn't care.

Both can be yes.

You're responding to a troll account. No need to be logical, you're wasting your time... just go at him with attacks like he puts out or don't respond at all.

Willing to bet he's right.

You know what I love about the article? The way the author thinks that athletes should just dribble (so to speak), if the athletes views don't align with the authors. Oh, and how people like you applaud that. It's funny because when a conservative says that, your side jumps down their throats. Good for me, not for thee, right? Yeah, good times, good times.

LOL, board idiots still think "the parties switched". Too funny. -
Donald Trump wants to raise import taxes (tariffs) to 10% on all products if he wins the election
TBayXXXVII replied to The Real timschochet's topic in The Geek Club
Actually reading this thread for the first time... let me know if I got this wrong. Approximately 9 months ago, board Lefties said that Trump's planned 10% (across the board), tariff proposal was going to be "catastrophic" for our economy. They believe that this alone should be enough for us to change our vote to Biden. Fast forward 9 months and Biden is going leave a tariff plan in place that will be upwards of 25 to 100%, on certain products from certain countries (China). So now, board Lefties will come back and tell us how this tariff is (D)ifferent and that we're overreacting. They'll tell us that Biden is still a better choice than Trump... even though Biden's tariff plan light years worse than what Trump proposed, it won't be catastrophic. Guess they'll have to wait for WAPO to tell them why this isn't as bad as what Trump was proposing, before they get back to us. -
I don't think you're right on Young yet... though, from what I saw and read about Young, I'm not sure why he was a 1st round pick. That Panthers team was, and IS, still a dumpster fire.

Yeah, I don't know where this tunnel vision stuff comes from, but maybe that's your fantasy mind ruling over your reality mind. LOL, loaded team. What "loaded team" was that? Sony Michel & Darrell Henderson became stars... when? Outside of Cooper Kupp, Van Jefferson was a star... when? Robert Woods' 5 games played was some monumental display? DeSean Jackson was a beast for 7 games? Odell Beckham Jr.? Oh, I see who you mean, that future H.O.F.'er Tyler Higbee. My bad. I don't disagree with your take on McVay/Goff.

Oh, I know you're not saying he's a QB1 or 2, I'm just saying he's not even a QB4 or 5. He'll likely be out of the NFL in 2 years, is where I'm at.

Yeah, their models won't work here. The problem is the people, not the system. Any "system" you create, won't work that's better than what we have now... and the one we have now isn't as good as the one we had before the ACA was implemented. -
Good luck with him.

I play in a 12-team, 2 QB keeper league, with 24 roster spots, and I can guarantee that no one will draft Spencer Rattler.
-
I wouldn't phrase it that way. I'd say that he's the only QB that's played in a system that works, in Detroit for the last 30 years. I'd even be as bold as to say "ever", and not just limit it to just 30 years. Stafford was definitely a better QB, but they never built a team or system around him, like Goff has had.

Does it matter if the TD totals are 44-17 if they're winning at almost the same rate? In those 34 games, they're 11-6 at home and 10-7 on the road. They've also ranked 5th in scoring each of the last 2 years. They do play in a dome and that probably helps them more in the passing game than some other teams, when it comes to home field advantage. Also, if you look at other QB's, who may have more passing TD's on the road, you're likely to find that the number isn't that much higher... but you're also likely to find that their number of passing TD's at home, aren't as high. Look at Dak for example, I believe his h/r split is 34/25... he's 14-1 at home and 6-8 on the road. I'll gladly take Goff's results. Who's another QB you can compare him to? Lawrence? He only has 45 total TD's I think. Burrow? He's been banged up a bit. Tua? He has a better home record (12-3), but a losing record on the road (7-8). He has more passing TD's on the road, by a good size (29), but he's almost half (25), at home. Burrow hasn't been healthy the last 2 years, neither has Cousins. Lamar, Allen, and Hurts really aren't the same style QB. Yeah, he's not Patrick Mahomes... ok, neither are the other 30 QB's in the league, so I'm not sure why there's an issue with his h/r splits regarding TD's when they're still winning at a similar clip. Who do you think is comparable QB that is producing similar w/l results with better numers? QB contracts are all about guaranteed money and cap hit, nothing else. The total dollar figure and years are irrelevant. What you can't have is a long term deal with a boat load of guaranteed money, unless it's obvious that the player is worth it. That's why contracts are written where the team can get out of a deal in 3 years with a nominal cap hit. Heck, after the 2026 season, the Bills can get out of Josh Allen's deal for a $30M cap hit. If they need to go into the 2027 draft needing a QB and have a $35M cap hit at QB for 1 year, that would probably put them somewhere in the middle of the league. Only Mahomes is getting a 10 year deal... no one else is.

Trump's NY Election Interference Trial - Trump is found guilty on all 34 counts
TBayXXXVII replied to squistion's topic in The Geek Club
No, it's election interference to put on a charade of a trial to convict a political opponent that even the federal government said, "Nah, this isn't a winning proposition". -
10, heck, my son is 27!

Trump's NY Election Interference Trial - Trump is found guilty on all 34 counts
TBayXXXVII replied to squistion's topic in The Geek Club
This trial itself is a bigger example of election interference than the charges against Trump.
