Jags making a run at the Bengals record
pollardposse replied to Melissa Stark's topic in FFToday Board
Why the comment on D. Williams? I don't recall him being pulled over with 8 grams of pot or throwing a stripper on the ground..... You would have a point if Darrent Williams was a punk, but he wasn't. Don't look now, but your lack of couth is showing. -
Yeah, then my Cowboys took the suicidal freak after MN let him go. He was a total nutjob. Bi-polar, manic depressive, and otherwise just an idiot in general.
-
I watched several MN games this season as C. Taylor was on one of my teams. The kid did drop several passes, but there were many balls thrown behind him, way out in front of him..... It was not 100% his fault. A QB that could still throw the deep pass with accuracy would help him immensely.

What's so special about serial killers? Don't the Ravens have a few convicts on their team?
-
Barber doesn't have Jones top end speed, but he's just as quick to the hole and much less injury prone. He probably isn't going to break off to many 20 + yard runs, but he can still average over 4 ypc behind a much improved offensive line (more depth + Davis at guard = much improved). I hated the Julius Jones pick to begin with. I was banned from the Dallas Cowboys web forum for ripping Jerry Jones for not taking Steven Jackson and trading the pick to the Rams. I'm a St. Louisan, so I shouldn't complain, but I'm a Cowboys fan at heart. Trade Jones for a 3rd rounder, if possible, and pick up another WR that has the potential to start in 2008.

Let's assume Willis ends up in Baltimore
pollardposse replied to Larry David's topic in FFToday Board
Ummmm.... No. Ogden was a shell of himself last season. He only started 14 games and left early in two others (http://shsdemo.stats.com/fb/playerstats.asp?id=3540&team=33). He also tied his second highest penalty total of 3. The past two seasons he has 10 penalties, including 7 false starts, hardly great for such a "dominant" player. In the past two seasons he has given up THIRTEEN (13) SACKS, although only 3 and a half were last year. The team as a whole did not give up as many sacks because they had a more mobile quarterback than the previous year. A team that averages 3.47 YPC from their RB's is lacking a great line, especially when you consider who they played last season. On top of that, do rushing teams EVER give up that many sacks? Take your broke @ss back home and do a little research on this "dominant" left tackle. He WAS dominant and I've always been a fan of his, but I won't go overboard as you did and say last season was one of his best when it wasn't. His "best" seasons were 96, 99, 01, 02 (his BEST overall), and 04. He is a good player, but no longer a dominant one. -

Baltimores O-Line is as bad, if not worse, than the Bills. They lost their right tackle and Ogden may retire. Ogden is not the Ogden of old and looks more like a tackle that is playing past his prime right now. They lost their center last offseason and their guards are average at best. The Ravens need to address that line heavily via the draft. -
What's up with Drew? Prior to this season, he was rated in the scouting magazines as being a sure-fire top 5 pick in the '07 draft. He has the size and arm strength scouts drool over, yet his name has hardly been mentioned.... This has happened before. Prior to his senior season, Bulger was considered a first round talent, but may have been an undrafted free agent had it not been for the Saints. Tom Brady was another guy that everyone thought had talent, yet he fell to the sixth round. Call me crazy, but I think Stanton is better than Russell OR Brady Quinn.

Vikings to Offer 2nd RD Pick for Matt Schaub
pollardposse replied to Kilroy's topic in FFToday Board
Schaub would have been a first rounder had he been able to stay healthy in college. If they trade for him, which I think is very unlikely, they had better open up the purse strings for a couple WR's. Who would he throw too? -
Pacman is about to learn the hard way that drugs don't pay.

Coke is out in a matter of days. Meth is out in under 30 (typically). Pot is the only thing that can be detected past the 30 day mark.

I've read a couple posts on here where people are going to try their luck in the WCOFF next season. Would anyone be interested in having a meeting spot out there? I would like to try my luck as well and I've never been to Vegas.... It would be cool to have people to hang with that are as into Fantasy Football as I am. My girlfriend hates it, so I'm sure she wouldn't be interested in going. Someone mentioned playing in a $500 league that sucked... Was it AFFL? I have played in their league too. The website is the absolute worst I have ever played on. There was no talking between the teams or anything. It was boring and for the entry fee, you expect a decent site.... The site itself was down several times during the year and I had to email the tech support people several times. Bad experiences with that site.....

Where does Foster land if he gets released?
pollardposse replied to Raider 84's topic in FFToday Board
If they cut Foster, I think they will resign him quickly. Williams has not proven anything yet and the history of Carolina RB's shows they need more than one guy on their roster. I certainly would not consider Williams a low pick in round one. He had minor dings all through college and is to much of an injury risk for round one. If you throw in the fact that the Panthers are not afraid to use a RBBC all season, it makes him a round one bust. If he takes the job and is the clear cut starter, I would say a round two pick, but even then, I can think of 20 RB's I would consider ahead of him.
