  1. There are several candidates for "bust" next season. Who are yours and why?

Jags making a run at the Bengals record

Why the comment on D. Williams? I don't recall him being pulled over with 8 grams of pot or throwing a stripper on the ground..... You would have a point if Darrent Williams was a punk, but he wasn't. Don't look now, but your lack of couth is showing.

Worst draft pick of all time?

Yeah, then my Cowboys took the suicidal freak after MN let him go. He was a total nutjob. Bi-polar, manic depressive, and otherwise just an idiot in general.

    Troy Williamson has vision issues...

I watched several MN games this season as C. Taylor was on one of my teams. The kid did drop several passes, but there were many balls thrown behind him, way out in front of him..... It was not 100% his fault. A QB that could still throw the deep pass with accuracy would help him immensely.

What's so special about serial killers? Don't the Ravens have a few convicts on their team?

    Dallas shopping Julius Jones?

Barber doesn't have Jones top end speed, but he's just as quick to the hole and much less injury prone. He probably isn't going to break off to many 20 + yard runs, but he can still average over 4 ypc behind a much improved offensive line (more depth + Davis at guard = much improved). I hated the Julius Jones pick to begin with. I was banned from the Dallas Cowboys web forum for ripping Jerry Jones for not taking Steven Jackson and trading the pick to the Rams. I'm a St. Louisan, so I shouldn't complain, but I'm a Cowboys fan at heart. Trade Jones for a 3rd rounder, if possible, and pick up another WR that has the potential to start in 2008.

Let's assume Willis ends up in Baltimore

Ummmm.... No. Ogden was a shell of himself last season. He only started 14 games and left early in two others (http://shsdemo.stats.com/fb/playerstats.asp?id=3540&team=33). He also tied his second highest penalty total of 3. The past two seasons he has 10 penalties, including 7 false starts, hardly great for such a "dominant" player. In the past two seasons he has given up THIRTEEN (13) SACKS, although only 3 and a half were last year. The team as a whole did not give up as many sacks because they had a more mobile quarterback than the previous year. A team that averages 3.47 YPC from their RB's is lacking a great line, especially when you consider who they played last season. On top of that, do rushing teams EVER give up that many sacks? Take your broke @ss back home and do a little research on this "dominant" left tackle. He WAS dominant and I've always been a fan of his, but I won't go overboard as you did and say last season was one of his best when it wasn't. His "best" seasons were 96, 99, 01, 02 (his BEST overall), and 04. He is a good player, but no longer a dominant one.

Let's assume Willis ends up in Baltimore

Baltimores O-Line is as bad, if not worse, than the Bills. They lost their right tackle and Ogden may retire. Ogden is not the Ogden of old and looks more like a tackle that is playing past his prime right now. They lost their center last offseason and their guards are average at best. The Ravens need to address that line heavily via the draft.

    Drew Stanton

What's up with Drew? Prior to this season, he was rated in the scouting magazines as being a sure-fire top 5 pick in the '07 draft. He has the size and arm strength scouts drool over, yet his name has hardly been mentioned.... This has happened before. Prior to his senior season, Bulger was considered a first round talent, but may have been an undrafted free agent had it not been for the Saints. Tom Brady was another guy that everyone thought had talent, yet he fell to the sixth round. Call me crazy, but I think Stanton is better than Russell OR Brady Quinn.

Vikings to Offer 2nd RD Pick for Matt Schaub

Schaub would have been a first rounder had he been able to stay healthy in college. If they trade for him, which I think is very unlikely, they had better open up the purse strings for a couple WR's. Who would he throw too?

    WCOFF --- Next Season

I've read a couple posts on here where people are going to try their luck in the WCOFF next season. Would anyone be interested in having a meeting spot out there? I would like to try my luck as well and I've never been to Vegas.... It would be cool to have people to hang with that are as into Fantasy Football as I am. My girlfriend hates it, so I'm sure she wouldn't be interested in going. Someone mentioned playing in a $500 league that sucked... Was it AFFL? I have played in their league too. The website is the absolute worst I have ever played on. There was no talking between the teams or anything. It was boring and for the entry fee, you expect a decent site.... The site itself was down several times during the year and I had to email the tech support people several times. Bad experiences with that site.....
  16. About a year ago, there was a report here in St. Louis that Martz was interested in becoming the next Chargers coach should they fire Schotty. This was before he took the o-coordinator's job in Detroit. Now, there are rumors that Martz isn't happy with Millen and the Chargers have fired Schotty. Martz owns a home in San Diego, or so it has been stated on a local radio show here. Anyone think he would be a good fit there? I do. I think he is/was an excellent coach. His struggles in St. Louis were with upper management, not so much the team. He had no say in the draft and was following a coach (vermeil) the town loved. He was in a no-win situation. Here's to hoping San Diego picks up a WR in the draft and makes Mad Mike the next head coach!

Where does Foster land if he gets released?

If they cut Foster, I think they will resign him quickly. Williams has not proven anything yet and the history of Carolina RB's shows they need more than one guy on their roster. I certainly would not consider Williams a low pick in round one. He had minor dings all through college and is to much of an injury risk for round one. If you throw in the fact that the Panthers are not afraid to use a RBBC all season, it makes him a round one bust. If he takes the job and is the clear cut starter, I would say a round two pick, but even then, I can think of 20 RB's I would consider ahead of him.

Ted Ginn, Jr. WR Ohio State

I'm not a major Ohio State follower, but from what I've seen of Ginn, he makes the routine catch but isn't going to make the spectacular look routine. He out ran a lot of Defensive Backs in college to make easy catches. It won't be so easy in the NFL. My only question with Ginn Jr. is this; Can he make the catch with a defensive back hanging all over him?

    How talented are the Chargers?

I'm not sure where the hype comes from that they are SOOOOO talented. They have a good young QB, not a great one. They have only one WR prospect Great TE, probably the best in the game. Good offensive line with great potential. Best RB in the game. Good D-line, but not great. Good could even be an overstatement here. Great LB's led by a freak. Average CB's at best. Below average Safeties. Average special teams with the punter being an all-pro. They are a hard team to scheme against because of the 3-4, but they can be beaten. No other team in that division is in their league right now. That doesn't make the Chargers "great" it makes the rest of the division average. The hype machine claiming the Chargers are Super-bowl bound next season is VERY premature. Very.

    Lions CB Bly wants out

Dre is a pure cover corner that is best suited for man to man. In St. Louis, when Lovie installed the Cover 2, Bly was the nickelback. He couldn't do it.... He is a man to man corner that needs that type of defense to be successful. A team that blitzes a lot could use him.

Where will Jake "The Snake" End Up?

I think he ends up in Texas, although I don't think it's a great fit. He has no running game to speak of and the offensive line will have him heaving up balls all over the field. The team will suffer from the Jake the Snake dry heaves.

Could Mad Mike be headed to Charger Land?

Where would you like me to start with Martz? He did NOT have the same players in 2001 that the Rams had in 99. London Fletcher was the MLB in 99. In 99 the Rams had one of the best KR/PR's in the league in Tony Horn. They didn't have him in 01. In 99 the Rams had Fred Miller at Right Tackle, didn't have him in 01...... The Rams lost a lot of great players from the 99 team, yet still managed to make it to the Superbowl again in 01. If I remember correctly, the Patriots have beaten a couple other teams in the Superbowl and about 12 teams in the playoffs the past 6 seasons. How can the Rams be faulted for losing to Brady and Belichek? Kurt Warner threw the INT that was taken back for 6 points by Ty Law, not Mike Martz. He tried to float the ball out in the flat to Marshal and didn't put anything on it...... LT2 has something Faulk didn't have.... An offensive line that opens holes. I think Martz would make this offense scary, but not until 08. And for those that think it's not worth it to wait until then, do you really think the Chargers are going to win it all next season?!

Who do you see drafting Marshawn Lynch?

I've heard the Jets mentioned too. With their young line, a couple good WR's, and an addition of a true breakaway threat at the RB position, they would be able to score with anyone..... Well, provided they have a QB that is..

Could Mad Mike be headed to Charger Land?

I guess you don't remember (or weren't playing FF) Marshal Faulk...... I agree that Martz is arrogant. He has never had full control of a football team and was livid that the Rams drafted Jimmy Kennedy a few years ago with their first round pick. I listened to a radio interview with Kennedy on KFNS in St. Louis on draft day last year. Martz called him into his office his first day at practice...... He sat him down in the chair and told him point blank he wanted a WR with that pick and that Kennedy should know ahead of time that Martz doesn't like him and didn't want him. ----- Like Martz or not, he has some B@LLS!!! He publicly ripped Rams brass for "wasting" the three number one picks they had after the Superbowl. They took Ryan Pickett, Damien Lewis, and Adam Archuletta. None of the three were worth a first round (or even a second) pick. Yet somehow Martz gets the blame for the team's troubles. He didn't draft the players and didn't like most of them. The only players the Rams have publicly stated he had a hand in drafting were Torry Holt and Kevin Curtis.

Who do you see drafting Marshawn Lynch?

Lynch may be taken much higher if his 40 time is in the 4.4 range. He has the moves and the quick feet, but his breakaway speed has been questioned by some. Most mock drafts have him going to the Packers, but if he runs a 4.4 or sub 4.4, he'll go in the top 12 range.
