    Defense/ST sleepers

I don't like that there's 3 road games in there, but it was the choice I made as well.

    For those that drafted Zeke...

Not sure how much use this will be, but: auction draft, $250 budget. .5 PPR. Start: 2QB/2RB/3WR/TE/K/DEF and flex anything except a QB. Drafted on Thursday. Brady Brees Murray Elliott - $36 Hilton Baldwin Fitzgerald D. Walker Sturgis Steelers D Bench Garoppolo D Henry R Kelley P Perkins Hogan Thielen

    We need a new PatteRn!

You know what would have been an unstoppable offense back then? Tommy Maddox, he of the 5000+ yards and 38 Td's, throwing to David PatteRn. He could also choose to hand off to Amos Zeroue, who was once predicted to have 1700 combined yards and about 10 td's, or to Stephen Davis. It probably would be better for this team to start 2 halfbacks though, because you never bench Stephen Davis! I didn't post back then, but it sure was fun to lurk here.

    Yahoo Mock Draft Grades

Yeah, I tried a few and I had to quit doing them. My competitive juices got the best of me and I started drafting just to get a good grade by Yahoo, lol. My best drafts were rated D or F when I drafted the teams I was happy with. The problem is that they grade it based on their ADP and projected points, and I think their projected points are way off on quite a few guys, so I take them and get graded worse for it. It's useful to see how others are drafting, and where some cut-off points are, and if you do auction drafts it can be interesting to see how much people are willing to bid early, but that's it. I find fantasypros mock drafting to be more on target, but not perfect. Plus you can run one through in about 5 minutes.
  5. So, I know we have our rankings, projections and consensus thread, but are there any guys you see in the league this year that become a true #1 fantasy WR? This usually takes opportunity, red zone looks or long scores, and a QB willing to lock on for 120+ targets. I know we could say guys on the bad teams will be their team's #1, but can they finish top ten at the position in fantasy? I have my doubts about most of them. It usually happens on at least average to good teams that are taking the next step forward. The guy that everyone mentions is Pryor for the 'Skins, and I do think there is a shot there for sure, though I expect targets to get spread out in that offense.
  6. I do kinda like the Benjamin call. The offense might be more focused on short passes this year, but that's never been Cam's game. I could see it.

    Preseason Week 2 Observations

Some thoughts on the first half on the Brown-Giants Monday nighter: Both offenses were mostly non-existent. Each team had under 100 yards of offense. This was a combination of poor blocking, poor execution, and penalties. It was also a product of both defensive front 7's looking strong and aggressive. The obvious difference here is that the Browns started Osweiler, who is atrocious, and were without Crowell. The Giants had pretty much everyone. I doubt many had any expectations for how good Cleveland should look, but the Giants have no such excuse. Perkins got the majority of carries (6) and would have had -4 yards if not for busting a 16 yarder late in the half. Darkwa got 1 carry and only saw one series with the starters. I think next week will give us our best clarity on what the situation is there. Beckham left with an ankle injury, and they took him for x-rays. He seemed relatively fine on the sideline at the beginning of the second half. B. Marshall also got x-rays on his shoulder. Kizer looks very likely to start the year as the QB. He didn't look good, but can at least extend plays and run some. Honestly, he's their best option, and I say that as someone who isn't that high on him. If the Browns offense could be average even, the defense could be a useful streamer (Peppers looked good returning punts too). But I don't expect them to be average on O. Engram at TE for New York looks to be more involved in the offensive design that I thought he would be. That's about all I got.

Who would you rather have on your bench as a flier?

Williams should be a tier or two ahead of the others. Then I like Jones, Ginn, Kupp. Williams and Jones are the most likely guys that won't be on the wire.

This years Dak...not stats, just out of nowhere QB

    I still think it's Watson.

    Preseason Week 2 Observations

I only saw the Redskins-Packers game tonight, so here's a few observations on that one: -Gruden was pissed that his offense couldn't get anything going, and left his starters in the whole first half. Green Bay pulled theirs with about 5 minutes to go in the 1st quarter, with a few exceptions. - Washington's first team couldn't run block again, and there was no room for Fat Rob to run. He tried to make something out of nothing, but he walked off frustrated a few times. He did get all work with the 1's though. - Cousins finally got them in the end zone at the end of the half, hitting Crowder from 4 yards out. He targeted Crowder quite a bit, and didn't look at Doctson or Pryor much at all. Cousins looked okay overall; not great, but not horrible. Threw one nice ball to Thompson on a wheel route for a big gain. - Perine looked really good against 2nd and 3rd string defense. He hit the hole quick and was through it. If the line can't block better for Kelley, Samaje is going to get some carries just because he has more initial burst. -Packers moved the ball well and Rodgers was running quite a bit. Williams at rb got all 1st team carries and looked ok, but not special. He is what we think he is, a hard runner with decent burst but not a ton of agility. Their run-blocking didn't look great either, but better than Washington. - Green Bay's backup receivers played well. There's some depth there. - Ha-Ha Clinton Dix was very active while he was in there on defense. I couldn't tell if the Packers D had gotten better, or if Washington was just playing poorly. Probably a little of both.
  11. I love Ty's talent, but he had trouble staying on the field when he was playing wide receiver, so what makes us think he will stay healthy as a running back? I want to believe in him as a rb #2, but I don't think I'm willingly to pay the price that I've seen him going for lately. His adp will have to come down for me to roster him this year.

    Preseason Week 2 Observations

Jacquizz got some time after Martin with the first team, but didn't do much. It was obvious that they were trying to use Martin when he was in there; not so much with Rodgers, he was more of an afterthought in terms of play calling. If Rodgers is hot the first 3 games it could cut into Martin's time, but the Muscle Hamster looks like the better player to me. I couldn't take him as my #2, but I would as my #3.
  13. I'm curious to see the next two preseason games, because Darkwa is a guy that could split carries with Perkins and possible be the goal line back, or he could get cut, I just don't know right now. We need to see Perkins show up and take that job. Draughn was activated from the pup the other day as well. This should be an easy job for Perkins to win, yet it doesn't feel like he has yet.
  14. Oh they will, but it will be to the other team.

    Preseason Week 2 Observations

You're right, 3 for 42 is decent, but he had opportunity for more, including a score he didn't get his foot down on. The assessment was mostly positive, but you could see that he was a rookie at points. Tyrod was awful, I agree. I think Zay is a nice late sleeper at this point, so if he goes 96 for 1300 then I guess it'll work out. It'll be with 0 scores though, if he did that for every half this season.

    Preseason Week 2 Observations

    - Winston and Bucs offense looked good, except for a few red zone issues. Jags didn't start top 2 corners though. - For what it's worth, I don't think Folk ends up the kicker for Tampa this year. Missed an extra point, then missed a 47 yarder in the 4th. I know kickers don't matter that much, but whoever gets this job could be a useful option. - Bortles is still terrible. They pulled him in the two minute drill for Henne, which says something. Henne then threw 2 perfectly thrown passes that should have been td's, but the WR's dropped both. A-Rob on the 2nd one. - Robinson was open for a couple big gains earlier, but Bortles couldn't hit him. - Starters played the first half for the most part for both teams. - I know it's been against 3rd string d-backs, but Dede Westbrook at WR for Jax was on fire tonight. He played well last week too. Kid has a ton of talent but fell in draft due to character issues. - Blount put the ball on the ground for Philly, and didn't look very good for the 2nd week in a row. Corey Clement scored and looked decent. - Wentz threw a couple of really bad balls that should have been picked, but he lucked out. Mixed in two or three really good passes as well. - The Bills offense, particularly Tyrod, looked horrendous with the exception of Shady, who played well. - Zay Jones didn't have great stats and was inconsistent, but was close on a few plays and got open a good amount. - Bills starters played much longer than the Eagles. - Cutler looked decent for a guy who probably hasn't thrown a football in months. Mostly short stuff and wasn't out there long, but I'm not sure that he or Moore are any worse than Tannehill (which isn't necessarily a compliment). - Ravens D better be able to carry them, because two weeks in the offense can't run block at all and Mallett has looked really bad for the most part. Impossible to get a read on what this team will actually look like to start the year. Chemistry and timing is going to be an issue for the early part of the year, at least. West runs hard and looks like he belongs in there. - Didn't see as much of this game when the starters were in, but wasn't too impressed with either offensive line.

    Bills sign WR Anquan Boldin

Unfortunately, with Sammy I think it's "when it happens." He's already banged up a little bit. He could be a #1 WR if he'd ever stay healthy, but I have serious doubts that he can. Boldin should certainly help in the red zone, and I think this signing only really helps Tyrod, and slightly dings everyone else. I agree about impacting Clay the most.

Championship Week 16 WR discussion starts now

I'm rolling with Baldwin this week, along with either AJ Green or Meredith. I'll wait for more info on Green. Benching Watkins and Adams. Adams could be good, but last week was the 2nd game for him this year in cold weather that he just can't catch the ball. It was a problem last year as well. I'm sure he'll be great on my bench, but he and Watkins are the reason I'm playing for third this week and not the championship, and I don't see any great reason why either of them are going to be outstanding this week. Meredith should draw Fuller a bunch this week, which is a good matchup.

Anderson Owners or any Mia and Jets owners

The rain from last night and this morning will slow the field down some, and there's a good chance some fog or drizzle show up around game time, so I'd knock Anderson down a bit from where I had him. He should still be a decent start tonight though.
  20. So, it seems that most of the experts love them some Doug Baldwin tonight at home against the Rams. FFT projections have him 4th at WR this week. Everywhere I look he's a top 10 receiver this week. So tell me why I'm scared to death to start him? We start two in the league I have him in, and I have Baldwin, Adams, Sammy Watkins, AJ Green and Thielen. I could start a third at flex, but likely play Tevin Coleman there. All of these guys are risky, especially with weather an issue for Packers, Bills and Bengals (hamstring injury plus freezing temps seems like a great combo for AJ). Baldwin lines up primarily in the slot, and Lamarcus Joyner has been one of the better slot corners this season so far. Seems like the match-ups suggest Kearse or Lockett might be the better options for Wilson tonight, along with Graham. Maybe since I don't really trust any of my options I am just psyching myself out here, but I'm usually pretty decent when predicting my guys for the week. What am I missing that everyone else is seeing with Baldwin then?

    Sanu

If you need two from that list I'd go Anderson and Nelson (as long as he's good to go- knee). I've seen Sanu disappear to many times, and I like Pryor but hate his QB.
  22. cotarice12

    JJ Nelson,Thomas,Anderson,Parker and Peerimen

It depends on what you think you need. PPR or standard? Safe play or swing for the fences? Thomas from the Saints I assume?
  23. cotarice12

Doug Baldwin - thoughts on tonight's game?

Tried to pick Lockett up right at game time to start but he was locked already. Sat Baldwin, who scores from the 1. Even better, I have Rawls in my main league, and my opponent started Baldwin. 12 point swing in my score right there. They gave Marcel Reece a damn carry, why not Rawls? Man I hate Thursday nights.

Week 15 Scoop and Play WRs

I'm between him and Gabriel for my last WR spot in one league. I'm already playing Desean Jackson on Monday night, so will be rolling out two boom or bust guys if I stay with Gabriel.

Week 15 Scoop and Play WRs

For those in larger leagues or with really active owners where many of the above guys are gone, Breshad Perriman at home against a Philly secondary that has been hurt by deep passes the past few weeks might be a Hail Mary worth looking into. It could be Wallace that hits it though. Hopefully you don't have to get this crazy.
