    Cedric Tillman WR, Browns

Love Cedric Tillman. Was high on him as a rookie in dynasty formats. The move from Watson to Winston was a big help and obviously the trade of Cooper. At this point, we know what Elijah Moore is. We are probably getting close to knowing exactly what Jeudy is, as well. Tillman has the untapped potential here, imo. Not saying he is quite as good as his numbers the last 3 games but garbage time counts for FF and those guys are often the ones who can win you your leagues.

Caleb Williams is the real deal.

he really does have all the weapons one could ask for at his disposal and a great mix of young explosive ones as well as savvy veterans.

    Harris for CA Gov?

I was assuming we really wouldn't see her again. I guess I won't because I certainly don't pay enough mind to politics to follow a CA governor race, but I sort of assumed she would vanish entirely.
  5. just as it's a-ok for a democrat to do it but all of Trumps picks are "his chronies" etc... it's the same song and dance regardless which side you're on.

So no talks about voter fraud?

It’s actually funny that libs and democrats don’t realize their party is the party of racism now. It’s in their best interest to keep minorities feeling marginalized and poor people feeling poor so they have something to sort of run on when abortion isn’t a hot button topic. Which is why they always SAY, but never DO. but it looks like a lot of minority voters are catching on.

I’ve always liked you, peenie but you have to stop with the racist angle. Voters should be required to show ID and it had nothing to do with me being white

So no talks about voter fraud?

long time FFT members know the back story behind my name. As a 13 year old kid I thought 'The White Wonder' was a fun nickname for Wayne Chrebet. It was racial but not meant to be 'racist'. Then again, those were not the woke times. If I could edit it to just be Wonder, I would.

I was born and raised here. I am of "immigrant stock" in the sense that everyone is. We are not talking about legal immigration here. White privilege? gtfo with that tired nonsense. The election worker who checked me in was black. There were black and hispanic people in the school gymnasium where we were voting and none of them were showing any forms of identification. My friend who lives in Carteret and is black was also not asked for her ID (HAH!) . Nor my friends/family in Clark, Red Bank, Roselle etc...

    Trevor Lawrence (done?)

well, putting a round # on it is always silly as it depends on your league and your draft. Burrow was the 8th-9th QB off the board in many of my leagues. He was a target of mine if he fell to a certain point. In one league where he was the 8th QB off the board, he narrowly missed me in round 6, where I likely would have picked him. Daniels was 11th-13th roughly. Purdy was in the 11-15 range. Cousins and Goff were probably double digit round guys drafted as backups. Mayfield was undrafted in some. It's all relative and I don't see any reason why "waiting" at QB this year was any different than prior years.

    Trevor Lawrence (done?)

Why is that? Burrow was one of the later QB1's drafted, Daniels, Purdy, Mayfield... Cousins and Goff have been good for anyone who really decided to go "no QB" strategy. Bo Nix now has more FPPG than Mahomes. Seems like your typical year. A few highly drafted busts (Mahomes, Stroud relatively speaking) and a few late gems.

I would hope they wouldn't be stupid enough to not make sure they find enough votes to close that gap to a reasonable number .

Discussion of Concerns for Trump Presidency

If you agree on the way they entered then you agree that shouldn't be here. Plain and simple. To put it in kids terms for you, If you snuck into a movie theater, would you feel like the employees of that theater should not kick you out because you're already here, there was an open seat (job), and you're not making any noise or causing a disturbance (violence)? Or should you be forced to leave? Look, perhaps the key word here is MASS. If deportations are done in MASS, the potential economic impact will be felt much more so than if we begin a slower, more calculated deportation process. I will agree with that. The Biden Admin caused this problem and we need to start handling it hopefully in a way that is least disrupting to our citizens. The rest of your statement, that there is no benefit at all to removing illegal immigrants from the country just gets a huge eye roll from me. Unless you meant no benefit to quick mass deportation. I'm sorry but it's very hard to argue that it's a positive thing for people to sneak into another country and remain there illegally.

Illegal immigration has always existed and it will always exist. You’ll never be able to stop it 100%. I think the point here is to curb and eliminate the mass influx. there are more issues and benefits than the ones we’ve been discussing around low level jobs. something tells me the agriculture industry will still find a way to get their cheap labor. It’s hard to argue that mass illegal immigrants entering the country is a good thing. It seems like many of you are okay with securing the borders but seem to be taking a stance of “oh well, my administration up and they are here now so we should support them”.

If they make more than $600 “independent contractor” work for various businesses then they should be. This is of course a fairytale land where an illegal immigrant would ever be filing a tax return but by all means continue being part of the problem “Mr American” hahaha
  17. WhiteWonder

Discussion of Concerns for Trump Presidency

I see. And as “independent contractors” are you reporting their payments on form 1099 NEC as non employee compensation? Are they filing taxes and filling out schedule C 1040 as independent contractors?

Count me as someone who doesn’t think we should be allowing people in the country illegally just because they provide cheap labor (are being taken advantage of) and someone willing to pay a bit more as a result. that’s just me because I’m an American.

You know a lot of illegal immigrants paying taxes, do you?

So on this topic I would counter with a few points. 1. there is indeed housing in urban areas that are going to illegals and forcing lower income families to settle for housing that is a step up and not fully affordable for them. Those families would take the cheapest options if they were available. This isn’t speculation, I live fairly close to Newark and I know people in this situation. Independent landlords are willing to rent to illegals because they can basically act as slum lords because who is going to complain? 2. these rise in costs you guys seem so worried about because of the lack of cheap illegal labor can potentially be offset (and to a larger degree) if we can lower to cost of materials. It’s a big if, but my point is those are actually the bigger issues impacting to cost of goods and services. It’s the cost of eggs and bread and flour etc at the restaurant more so than having to pay a dish washer minimum wage. And I believe American citizens would be much more tolerant of some rise in the cost of their meals or new roofs if it means more jobs for citizens than they currently are with the rise in the costs because we get spanked on trade deals

    1. In order to fight inflation and the cost of things, I happen to believe we will need to deal with a temporary rise. Not like the rise at the start of Bidens admin because that was not a "self imposed" rise. It was a rise he did little to fix other than sit back and let the feds raise interest rates. It's a little different when the rise is a means to an end, so to speak. Also, we are talking more about small businesses who have more of these illegals working for them. The mom and pop italian restaurant in your neighborhood and I doubt you would see a 40% increase passed along to the consumer, as in your chilis example. 2. Think it or don't think it but dining out at restaurants is considered a sign of disposable income. The family who eats out at the fancy italian restaurant in town 3 night a week is probably viewed as more well off. We can remove the terms rich and poor if it makes you feel better. 3. Lower class citizens don't want those jobs because they currently don't pay enough. Theres really no good argument for continuing to employee people who are in this country illegally, yet that seems to be what some of you are doing. Perhaps some changes also need to be made to the benefits system, but something tells me liberals won't like that either. just to use an example of my own. I have a friend who dates an illegal brazillian woman. She was working as a hair stylist in a heavily hispanic and black area. If that salon was not able to hire her for less money and keep her off the books (and basically not allow her to keep as much of her tips) you don't think there is not a young black or hispanic woman who is a citizen who would gladly fill that role? People assume all of these jobs being filled by illegals are toilet and dish washers

Not exactly. I assume youre saying it could not be good for the people using those services because prices may go up? If the demand goes down because of that, the businesses will need to adjust lower to get business back in the door. It won't always result in layoffs, etc.

Discussion of Concerns for Trump Presidency

doesn't matter. The sad truth is that as much as we can crack down on border control issues, we may be able to make the overall issue better but guys like your friend will always find a way to get some illegal immigrants working for them. It's never going to completely stop. The point is, if some of these businesses are forced to hire a few more citizens for these low end jobs, they will have to pay them more and have them on the books. Yes, the price of a meal at that restaurant may go up a bit as the costs are passed along to the consumer (although we are still talking minimum wage jobs here) but... 1. the people dining out at these restaurants should be willing to spend just a little more, knowing that more jobs are being opened up for legal citizens 2. some of the people dining out would be considered the "rich people" that democrats want to pay up anyway. 3. the "lower class" citizens who would take these jobs are now in better positions financially and the less reliant some people become on government assistance, the better for our economy.
  24. WhiteWonder

Discussion of Concerns for Trump Presidency

and why do you think they don't want to do those jobs? I am curious because I have had this debate with a co worker and she says things like "legals don't want to wash dishes or clean toilets for such little money." I then respond by reminding her that these jobs are only paying so little because the illegals taking them are willing to do them for next to nothing (because its still an improvement for them) and the business doesn't put them on the payroll. If there were not illegal immigrants to take those jobs, they would pay more by default and those who are here legally would be much more interested in doing them. there is a trickle up effect.
