I saw this story the other day but just assumed it was some guy with the same name as the former quarterback. -
Neither. Not sure what NFL you're watching, or why MVP would be discussed after 5 games. 17 game season. Slow your roll.

I'm finding Oasis is considered Britpop, however New Order is considered Alternative, so will New Order songs count in this draft?

On the morning of Sept. 15, a 21-year-old Black student named Demartravion “Trey” Reed was found dead on the campus of a small college in northwest Mississippi. Mr. Reed's death was twice ruled a suicide, and no evidence has emerged that would suggest otherwise.6 days ago - The New York Times

Jane Goodall, the intellectual, soft-spoken conservationist renowned for her groundbreaking, immersive chimpanzee field research in which she documented the primates’ distinct personalities and use of tools, has died. She was 91.

I had no idea and learned from googling it. I was like why is Sigourney Weaver being mentioned. I didn't even remember the movie, I don't think I saw it.
-
google AI: Sigourney Weaver did not portray Jane Goodall; instead, she played Dian Fossey, the primatologist known for her work with gorillas, in the 1988 film Gorillas in the Mist. The film was based on Fossey's book of the same name and detailed her efforts to protect endangered mountain gorillas. Jane Goodall is a separate, famous primatologist who studied chimpanzees, not gorillas.

Israel Gaza thread- is the peace agreement still in effect?
Gepetto replied to The Real timschochet's topic in The Geek Club
World leaders welcomed a peace plan for Gaza unveiled by US President Donald Trump and backed by Israel. The plan proposes an immediate ceasefire, the return of all hostages, and the release of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners. European and Gulf leaders hailed the deal, with Italy’s prime minister calling it a potential “turning point.” The announcement piles pressure on Hamas: Trump told the group to accept the plan or be destroyed. But Israel is under pressure, too. It has received more US aid than any other country since its founding, but American public opinion has shifted spectacularly on its ally, a New York Times poll found. A majority of respondents oppose further aid, and 40% say Israel “intentionally” harms civilians. source -

Just look at this list. This is why I haven't listened to modern/current music or bought any of it in the last 25 years. -
This isn’t a politically motivated shooting because he went after Christians. if he had shot up an abortion clinic or shot a Democrat politician then you could make a comparison to the Charlie Kirk shooting but right against left as opposed to Kirk’s shooter being left against right.

from google AI Known details about the attacker and his potential motives: Hate for the Mormon faith: White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told Fox News that the FBI was investigating Sanford as an individual who "hated people of the Mormon faith". A candidate for city council in a nearby town also told CBS News that Sanford had previously expressed a "particular dislike" for the church, claiming its followers "believe they're above Jesus". Failed relationship: The city council candidate said Sanford told him he had a relationship with an LDS woman in Utah that fell apart after she asked him to get rid of his tattoos and "do all this stuff". Mental health and drug use: Sanford, a Marine veteran who served in the Iraq War, reportedly told the city council candidate he had issues with drugs after returning from deployment.

Zima was brought up in a thread. Ever have a chick drink that you liked?
Gepetto replied to seafoam1's topic in The Geek Club
Yes, but seems like the name is based on the fact they grow in clusters like grapes grow in clusters, not the color. I'm not impressed with naming origins after looking these up. -

Gepetto replied to seafoam1's topic in The Geek Club
The name "grapefruit" comes from the grape-like clusters in which the fruit grows on trees picture not from its taste or appearance as a single fruit. Jamaicans are credited with coining the term "grapefruit" in the 19th century to describe this characteristic growth pattern, which resembles that of grapes. The English word "grape" likely comes from the Old French word "graper," meaning "to hook" or "to pick with a hook," which itself derives from a Germanic root referring to a hook or crooked shape. The word "grape" entered the English language around the 13th century, replacing the Old English term "winberige" ("wine berry"), reflecting the use of hook-like tools for harvesting the fruit after the Norman conquest of 1066. -
