Dallas Mavericks Trade Doncic for Lakers Anthony Davis
Gepetto replied to Strike's topic in The Geek Club
I'm an Austin Reaves fan. https://lakersnation.com/lakers-news-austin-reaves-self-critical-of-performance-vs-timberwolves-vows-to-get-better/ Reaves admitted that while the whole team could have played better, it all falls back on him individually. “I really just don’t think we played good,” Reaves said. “Give credit to Minnesota, they played a really good series, but I think it comes down to just us not being us. And obviously I didn’t have the series that I wanted to have, so you can point the finger at me. I really don’t care, I wasn’t good enough to help us be successful and I wish I could’ve done more. But I didn’t, I struggled. You live and you learn. I guarantee that I’ll get back to work this offseason and I’ll be better.” Reaves was then asked about the specific things he wants to work on this offseason after a poor performance in this series. He was frank about his evaluation, but did not lack for confidence on improving moving forward. “Just play better,” he said. “I feel like I’m talented enough to do that and I feel like I’ve proved over and over again throughout my whole life, there are millions of people that would’ve never known me if I wasn’t here in this position. Because, frankly, nobody ever thought I was gonna be in this position. So I’ve continued to prove myself over and over again and I’m gonna go to work and do the same thing next year, that’s really it. I just needed to be better and I wasn’t. And unfortunately, I can’t go back and start the series over.” -

Disappointing they lost a couple of close games against the T-Wolves. Rudy Gobert 27 points and 24 rebounds and 2 blocks. Lakers will address the roster (add a big) this offseason and come back stronger and better. -
The third sentence from the o.p. The US and Kyiv have signed an agreement to share profits and royalties from the future sale of Ukrainian minerals and rare earths, sealing a deal that Donald Trump has said will provide an economic incentive for the US to continue to invest in Ukraine’s defense and its reconstruction after he brokers a peace deal with Russia.

I feel like he did, but if not, he probably doesn't have to News in Florida recently (December 2024) brought it up. https://www.nbcmiami.com/news/local/looking-back-at-jimmy-carters-impact-in-south-florida/3503699/

People have been spending too much including using credit cards. They are out of money and in significant credit card debt. This occurred before Trump took office this January. They don't have money or credit to spend anymore on collectibles on ebay that they can live without for a while.

I guess I should have said their accuracy is not 100% and they could be wrong about S. Sanders projected capabilities at the NFL level.

This is the same league that in the 2022 NFL draft, they took Kenny Pickett in the first round, and Brock Purdy with the last pick in the last round. They don't know what they're doing unless the talent at QB is off the charts like last years' top QB picks.

Antisemitic Switzerland fencing team turns away from Team Israel on medal podium at European championships

So if you're anti-Israel aka anti-Jewish, are you pro-Palestine?, and if you're pro-Palestine, are you a Liberal/Left/Socialist? This is so confusing. Or do you just hate both groups? -

Spain declares state of emergency, as Portugal struggles with power cut transport chaos https://www.bbc.com/news/live/c9wpq8xrvd9t Spain has declared a state of emergency after a massive power cut hit large parts of the country and Portugal, causing widespread disruption More than half of Spain's power has been restored, Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez says, but authorities have not yet established why the outage occurred There was "no indication" that the power cut was caused by a cyber attack, the Portuguese Prime Minister Luís Montenegro, said People report driving to find open petrol stations, teaching in the dark - and drinking beers by candlelight The authorities are trying to project an air of calm but they've increased deployments of security forces and are calling on people to limit their mobile phone use, writes the BBC's Europe regional editor

I mean I guess they were popular, but I don't think that should be a reason to be in the R&R HOF, although it's a HOF I don't even care about. Wasn't a fan of the White Stripes myself.

http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/ticket/pakistani-doctor-helped-cia-osama-bin-laden-jailed-162306132.html The Pakistani doctor who helped the CIA find Osama bin Laden has been sentenced to 33 years in jail for treason. Shakil Afridi, 48, had been accused of running a fake hepatitis B vaccination program, collecting DNA samples reportedly used by U.S. intelligence officers to track bin Laden to Abbottabad, where Navy SEALs killed him in a raid on his compound last year. A tribal court found Afridi guilty of "acting against the state," The New York Times reported. He was sentenced to 33 years in prison and a fine of 320,000 Pakistani rupees, or $3,477, a government official said. Afridi, who was arrested shortly after bin Laden's killing, was sentenced under tribal laws and will serve his jail term in Peshawar in northwestern Pakistan. Tribal laws do not carry the death penalty for treason. According to Reuters, the sentence is "almost certain to further strain ties" between Washington and Pakistan. Following the raid, U.S. officials raised suspicions that Pakistani intelligence may have sheltered bin Laden in Abbottabad. The raid "humiliated" Pakistan, which saw it as a violation of its sovereignty. "Afridi's prison term could complicate efforts to break a deadlock in talks over the re-opening of land routes through Pakistan to U.S.-led NATO forces in Afghanistan, which are crucial for supplies," Reuters said. In January, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta "confirmed that the United States had been working with Dr. Afridi while trying to confirm the location of Bin Laden's compound in Abbottabad," the Times said. "For [Pakistan] to take this kind of action against somebody who was helping to go after terrorism, I just think is a real mistake on their part," Panetta said, according to the paper. According to the BBC, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had also called for Afridi's release "on the grounds that his work served Pakistani and American interests."

Deion's son Shilo Sanders didn't even get drafted. He signed with Tampa Bay.

I'm not saying Cleveland should just anoint Shedueur #1 and they won't do that. I agree with how you say it could play out. Flacco was great during the regular season, but then he blew it in that playoff game. He throws too many INTs. Shedeur does not. It's a whole new level for Sanders so it will be fun to watch how he plays when he gets a chance.
-
I think he's QB1 on Cleveland.
-
He was great in Cleveland when he was healthy. He had an arm injury (to his throwing arm) and played through it his last year in Cleveland and everyone thought he sucked. His arm healed and it shows in Tampa.

Pakistan is an enemy of the United States of America
Gepetto replied to Gepetto's topic in The Geek Club
Update on the original post: Shakil Afridi, who once was celebrated by America for his role in tracking down Osama bin Laden, has spent almost 14 years in solitary confinement in Pakistani prisons. Confined to a cell smaller than his own 6-foot frame, with no ventilation and no working toilet, his existence has been reduced to a slow, agonizing descent into obscurity. -
Shedeur turned around TWO programs in college. These NFL teams don't know everything, this is the same league that drafted Bryce Young #1 overall and Will Levis 33rd overall. They let Drew Brees and Jalen Hurts fall to the 2nd round. There's a lot of mistakes every year in the NFL drafting a QB. Where Shedeur gets selected in the draft is not an indicator of how his career goes.

Good point. This is what I'm thinking too. If the Browns want him, and I think they should I think they should use their 1st pick in round 2 because otherwise I see the Raiders trading up above Cleveland's 4th pick of round 2 to take him.

Who do you think drafts Shedeur Sanders now? Browns? Raiders? Saints? Jets? Some other team, if so which team? Round 2 order Pick (OVR)Player 1 (33) Browns 2 (34) Texans 3 (35) Titans 4 (36) Browns 5 (37) Raiders 6 (38) Patriots 7 (39) Bears 8 (40) Saints 9 (41) Bears 10 (42) Jets
