I read that one of his classmates said he wore a surgical mask during Covid and even for a long time after everyone stopped wearing masks. Not saying that's the reason he shot Trump, but it's another possibility, that he could have been upset at Trump for how he handled Covid. Or could have nothing to do with that.

I saw an interview of a lady that was there in front of Trump just a few feet away say she thought if he hadn't turned his head it would have been a much worse day.

I deleted my post. I don't know the answer. Seems like he hesitated too long. We don't know what he saw. We don't know how fast the shooter raised his gun and shot. I would think Trump's protection sniper should have been able to taken the guy out as soon as he raised his rifle and pointed it at Trump.

Secret Service statement is that the shooter had an AR-15 style rifle, fired at least 8 shots from an elevated position outside the venue from 200 to 300 yards away. The shooter is dead. A bystander is dead. TWO critically wounded.
