I was just at a brewery, and there's a big open area (hall) connecting the brewery, a cafe and other businesses and I went to the bathroom off of the open area and noticed there was a third but I can't remember what it was labeled but it was the one not marked men and not marked women.

I don't care about the Braves, I care about Acuna, one of the top young stars in the game. I know his history.

Ronald Acuna is out for the year with torn ACL. Welp, that sucks.

Anyone want to do a pool for when Paul Skenes has tommy john or shoulder surgery?

He has barely pitched in his lifetime. He was not a pitcher when he was growing up playing baseball until recently, two years in college I think. -

I was getting dinner and didn't see any whining. He has been better about that in the playoffs and his defense has improved tremendously. He just made a great full court pass to Kyrie for a layup. I like Kyrie and Jaden Hardy who hardly plays being behind Kyrie and Doncic. Derrik Jones Jr, PJ Washington and Gafford have all played well this playoffs with the Mavs. -

Biden releasing gasoline reserves Biden to sell off 1M barrels of gasoline held in reserve to keep prices low before election “The Biden-Harris Administration is laser-focused on lowering prices at the pump for American families, especially as drivers hit the road for summer driving season,” Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm said in a statement. “By strategically releasing this reserve in between Memorial Day and July 4th, we are ensuring sufficient supply flows to the tri-state and northeast at a time hardworking Americans need it the most.” Critics including congressional Republicans slammed Biden’s move as an attempt to buy votes — after making similar allegations about Biden’s attempt to forgive hundreds of billions of dollars in federally owned student loan debt in the runup to the election. Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) accused Biden of “yet again using America’s emergency fuel reserves to cover for his disastrous inflationary policies in an election year.” “Releasing 1 million barrels of gasoline from the Northeast reserve is a desperate move by Joe Biden to lower prices that HE raised,” tweeted Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.).”This reserve is meant for emergencies, not as a cover-up for Biden’s failed economic policies.” Skeptics noted that the complete draining of the Northeast reserve, which was authorized in a March government spending bill, was unlikely to significantly impact prices — which currently average $3.60 per regular gallon, up from roughly $2.38 when Biden took office and $3.54 at this time last year, according to AAA data. The US used about 8.94 million barrels of gasoline per day as of 2023, according to the US Energy Information Administration, meaning that Tuesday’s release would cover fewer than three hours of average US consumption. “A cynical political move. Like a drop in the ocean,” wrote one X user. Staten Island Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (R-NY) tweeted, “He should just reverse his damaging anti-energy policies.” “Depleting our emergency reserves while discouraging domestic production. Such a winning strategy!” tweeted Gabriella Hoffman, energy and conservation director of the Independent Women’s Forum. “Under [former President Donald] Trump, it was ‘drill, baby, drill.’ Under Biden, it is ‘drain, baby, drain,’” tweeted Charles Correll III, a speechwriter for Sen. John Barrasso (R-Wyo.). -
Trump's NY Election Interference Trial - Trump is found guilty on all 34 counts

This case against Trump is just another political witch hunt, and these witch hunts have been happening continuously since he rose to power. He would be completely stupid to testify. He's not stupid. -

She's the 15th leading scorer in the WNBA in average points per game.

I've flipped. These WNBA players suck; can't shoot worth a damn, they bully everyone, especially Clarke, it's like watching Rugby. I'm rooting for Clarke now. I think she will get to the point she leads the league in scoring. Down 2 last night with a few seconds left, she in bounds the ball, the one that caught the ball dribbled toward the basket and missed a layup terribly; Clarke would have been open for a 3 to win. I think she had no intentions to pass it back to Clarke, so they lost. These other WNBA players seem to hate Clarke, fock that; they suck. I look forward to Clarke dominating this stupid league now.

President of Iran. Helicopter crash
Gepetto replied to RaiderHaters Revenge's topic in The Geek Club
https://www.nytimes.com/2024/05/20/world/middleeast/iran-raisi-death-supreme-leader.html By Erika Solomon May 20, 2024Updated 2:30 p.m. ET He is known as a man in the shadows of Iranian politics. Yet Mojtaba Khamenei has a powerful influence over a country that rarely sees or hears him. For years, the son of Iran’s supreme leader has been speculated to be a potential candidate to succeed his father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. That speculation has grown with the death of Iran’s president, Ebrahim Raisi, who many analysts said was being groomed to replace the supreme leader, who is 85. Mr. Raisi’s death in a helicopter crash on Sunday will not only trigger new presidential elections. It could also shift the dynamics around the selection of Ayatollah Khamenei’s replacement. “When people started talking about Mojtaba as a potential successor in 2009, I considered it a cheap rumor,” said Arash Azizi, a lecturer at Clemson University who focuses on Iran. “But it’s not that anymore. It’s very clear now that he is a remarkable figure. And he’s remarkable because he’s been almost entirely invisible in the public eye.” Yet a growing number within Iran’s political establishment have begun to publicly endorse him, added Mr. Azizi. Mr. Khamenei, 55, is the second son of the ayatollah’s six children. A conservative hard-liner, he grew up in the clerical and political elite of the Islamic Republic, established in 1979, and later fostered ties within the powerful Revolutionary Guards. Today, he is believed to play a critical role in running his father’s office. But many Iran experts dismiss the idea that the ayatollah’s own son could replace him as a danger to the system. Since the 1979 revolution deposed Shah Mohammed Reza Pahlavi, a small group of Shiite clerics that run Iran have held far more power than elected officials. But a foundational principle of the Islamic Republic was that it ended hereditary rule. “If the supreme leader turns into a hereditary system, what does that mean? It means the system is dead,” said Mohammad Ali Shabani, an Iran analyst and editor of Amwaj, an independent online media outlet that focuses on Iran, Iraq and the Arabian Peninsula. Mojtaba Khamenei teaches at Iran’s largest seminary, in Qom, but other religious leaders have disputed his credentials. He has not achieved a high rank within the Shiite clerical hierarchy, something long seen as necessary for taking on the role of supreme leader. Where he seems adept, however, is in political maneuvering. A veteran of the Iran-Iraq war, Mr. Khamenei became a friend of his fellow soldier Hossein Taeb, who later became leader of the Revolutionary Guards’ paramilitary unit, the Basij, and later led its intelligence forces for many years. Mr. Khamenei is believed to have other high-level links to Iran’s security apparatus as well, said Mr. Azizi. Mr. Khamenei was accused by Iranian reformists of playing a significant role in the 2005 election of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, a hard-line populist, who unexpectedly beat the leading candidates at the time. In 2009, after Mr. Ahmadinejad’s re-election against the reformist leader Mir-Hossein Mousavi, antigovernment protests swept the country. Responding to Mr. Khamenei’s suspected role in the election, as well as rumors of his succession, some opposition activists chanted, “Mojtaba, may you die and not become supreme leader.” Then, in 2022, in another wave of antgovernment protests, Mr. Mousavi, who has been under house arrest since 2011, called on Ayatollah Khamenei to dispel the rumors about his son succeeding him. The ayatollah did not respond then. But earlier this year, he did, as the issue of succession becomes far more pressing. The cleric Mahmoud Mohammadi Araghi, a member of the Assembly of Experts that selects the supreme leader, told the state-affiliated news agency ILNA that Ayatollah Khamenei was vehemently opposed to his son being considered. The Assembly of Experts must unanimously select the supreme leader. Until then, they could choose a three- or five-member leadership council to run the country. Ultimately, the fate of any potential successor lies within an opaque system that critics say has only become less transparent in recent years. “The reality is that nobody knows,” said Mr. Shabani. “And that is crazy. There is zero transparency on a process that affects millions of Iranians.” -

He (President Ebrahim Raisi who died in the helicopter crash) was a favorite to become the next Supreme Leader and held very much the same beliefs/goals as the current ayatollah. -
