Stock Market bubble - will burst - it did, and recovered twice. ***Official thread***
Gepetto posted a topic in The Geek Club
I expect a stock market crash soon, a slight rebound and then an even bigger crash. Two years ago I already moved all my mutual funds to bonds just before the crash when Covid started and oil went up, maybe a day late on that actually. So I had mostly bonds already but all mutual funds I was investing in for the last two years I set up late last night and moved all to bonds and all future investments to bonds. Then I just found this article when I googled "stock market bubble" https://markets.businessinsider.com/news/stocks/warren-buffett-indicator-211-percent-stock-market-bubble-asset-crash-2022-1 -
OK, get ready to have your minds blown... 300,000,000 years ago all of today's continents existed as one land mass, that is referred to as Pangea. What was to become South Africa was much closer to the South Pole and under an ice cap. By 265 million years ago the Earth was warming up. The ice that covered the Karoo had melted forming inland sea. Over the next few million years the Karoo Sea filled with sediments. It nourished lush vegetation that grew in the new wetlands. source: NOVA S53 Ep4.

Smog is nothing like it was in the 1970s in US Cities, we all agree. Fossil fuel use in the United States in 1980 vs 2025: U.S. fossil fuel consumption in 2025 shifted from a heavy reliance on coal and oil in 1980 to a mix dominated by natural gas, with total consumption roughly doubling over that period. While 1980 saw high petroleum and coal usage, 2025 projections show a ~82% fossil fuel share, with significantly higher natural gas, lower coal, and rising renewables. This was accomplished by reducing pollutants released in the air, changed types of fossil fuels used, not by reducing the use of fossil fuels. The end.

Pima County Sherriff says the Guthrie family including all siblings and spouses are cleared as possible suspects in this case.
-
I have just shown that fossil fuel reduction was not necessary to clean the air.
-
per capita doesn't matter, when overall fossil fuel use is way up overall, yet the air is cleaner. There's only one earth, and the total is what matters, total emissions, not per capita change in fossil fuel use.
-
California is one state. Several other cities cleaned up their air decades ago. Based on overall consumption trends, it is unlikely that Denver consumes less total fossil fuel today than in the 1970s. While Colorado has added significant renewable energy to its grid, overall energy demand has risen. Global fossil fuel consumption has doubled since 1980, and Colorado remains a major producer and consumer of oil and gas.
-
I believe the key is reduced emissions, not reduced dependency on fossil fuels.

Following the 1970 Clean Air Act (CAA), the EPA implemented major regulations to cut down smog by targeting emissions from stationary sources, including large buildings, industrial facilities, and power plants. These actions, such as setting New Source Performance Standards (NSPS) andNational Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS), mandated pollution controls for smog-forming pollutants. Key 1970s Actions: The EPA mandated that new and modified stationary sources (industrial facilities and large buildings) use the "best system of emission reduction". Targeted Pollutants: Regulations focused on reducing nitrogen oxides ( ), sulfur dioxide ( ), particulate matter (PM), and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that cause smog. First Regulations (1971): Immediately following the 1970 act, the EPA regulated emissions from steam generators, incinerators, and large industrial plants. Impact: These measures, combined with vehicle emission controls, significantly reduced urban smog and improved air quality despite economic growth. The 1970 CAA required states to develop Implementation Plans (SIPs) to meet these new, stricter federal standards for reducing pollution from buildings and industry.

Electric vehicles have done nothing. About 2% of vehicles on the road are electric. There are for more gasoline and diesel fueled vehicles on the road today then gas/diesel vehicles in preceding years, and decades.
-
This is already being handled: https://www.epa.gov/co-pollution/basic-information-about-carbon-monoxide-co-outdoor-air-pollution Cities in the U.S. do not have polluted air like they did in the 1970s.

The Obamas are depicted as apes/gorillas, not monkeys. A monkey is not an ape; they are distinct, separate groups of primates. While both belong to the simian suborder, monkeys generally possess tails, smaller brains, and narrower chests. Apes (including chimpanzees, gorillas, and humans) lack tails, have larger brains, and possess broader chests for swinging through trees. Scientifically, humans (Homo sapiens) are classified as a species of ape. Humans belong to the biological family Hominidae, which includes great apes like chimpanzees, gorillas, and orangutans. While humans have unique traits like bipedalism and large brains, they share a common ancestor and over 97% of their DNA with other living apes.

They should ski with a broom, sweeping in front of their skis, to reduce friction, as I don't think that is against the rules. -

https://www.newsnationnow.com/missing/nancy-guthrie-suspect-description-backpack/ (NewsNation) — A SWAT team from the Pima County, Arizona, Sheriff’s Department swarmed a Tucson area house Friday evening as part of the ongoing search for Nancy Guthrie, and three people were detained at two scenes, NewsNation has learned. Authorities moved in on the home near Guthrie’s Tucson area neighborhood as part of a search warrant execution and ordered two individuals — a man and a woman — to come out; both complied. A third individual was detained at a traffic stop nearby. It’s believed to be connected with the SWAT operation.

@christypeaslee1 It takes a person with a certain kind of innate evil to post this kind of bullshit. You are a horror of a human being and even though I think you are a piece of , I still hope you never have to through what Savannah is going through right now. These short track speed skaters wreck more than Nascar drivers and get more penalties than offensive lineman.
