    Ok enough head scratching...

I would take Gore or Addai over LJ or SA. I dont have either LJ or SA in my top 5 in fact.
  2. MTSkiBum

    keep Rivers or Evans

No you dont have to have a top QB to win a league. In fact its alot easier to win a league without a top QB than without a top WR or RB. QB points dont differentiate as much between teirs as do either RB's or WR's. Thats why Rivers even though is ranked around 8-12 best QB gets drafted a full 4 rounds after Lee Evans an 8-12 ranked WR.

Poll: Who should I take at #6?

The guy i took at 6 is not on the poll, Travis Henry Also i bet you dont see Addai at the 6 spot. If you do go him.

    Help selecting keepers

Turner- is a free agent after this year, there is a great chance he is a starter somewhere next year as he looks to hit his payday. I would keep him even if i wasnt drafting LT in your keeper system. MJD- is the obvious selection out of the list. Then between Betts and Young is a crap shoot. You should wait into the last possible moment to decide, and keep watching Portis's tendenitis, if it looks like Betts is going to be the ball carrier i would gladly keep him over V young, but if their is no decision out of washington when you have to have your keepers in i would take young.

    Draft help

I liked your idea of grabbing a tier 1 WR if they are their, and if not going RB's. Even if 2 tier 1 WR's are their i would only grab 1 still, You dont want both your #2 and #3 back coming from pick 47/48 and beyond.

Did I get every single 2nd tier RB?

Besides the fact that you should have Crotchery starting over coles this upcoming season; i think your WR's look fine. However i would wait untill about 2 weeks into the season to see if you can trade a back for a QB then to try and get more value out of one of your backups. Green is a good Canditate, week 1 he plays KC, porous rush defense and teams will be able to run on them late into the 4th quarter, and week 3 Indy another porous run defense, the down side is carolina, and he may or may not do well against them. But after that 3 week stretch there is a decent possibillity his value will go up, and shop him them to a desperate team for a QB.

stay at 6 or trade up to 3?

I would NOT want to trade up this year. You are right all the questions surrounding tier 1 backs this year the best bet would be to trade down to pick 8-9 and grab henry Or you can stay where you are at and hope to get lucky and see Addai fall to you, but most likely that wouldnt happen, so you would be looking at FWP, westy, or SA. I am having a tough time trying to pick who i like best out of that group, thats why i avoided all those backs this year and went straight to henry myself(got to practice what you preach).

Second Keeper and First Round Draft Opinions

Hutchinson was lost last year, and from 2 years ago(alexanders MVP season) there has only been 1 lineman changed(hutchinson), and consistency like that helps. I think the line, the blocking of Strong, and Hassleback being healthy should return Alexander to 3-8 form or a tier 2 RB. That is if everyone can stay healthy, but thats always the case

Which 2 rbs will get the most tds this yr?

Those guys are pretty confident in their picks, I dont know how you could say anything is for sure out of that list of RB's. MJD gets a TD vulture back in Greg Jones, who was a viable bye week filler in 05 because of the TD's he scored. I would think that Bush will increase his TD's this year, based on the fact that Devery henderson has an injury that tends to linger, and because i believe he will get an increased rushing role. He also plays for a high powered offense. I think Henry will be #2. He will be the goal line back on his team, and he has the ability to run it in from 20 yards out also( i know MJD has this ability, but Henry will get 50-150 more touches). Its a tough call, but i would go with those 2, and i certainly wouldnt call them locks. :edit: I know Rudi is mr consistent scoring 13 TD's in each of the last 3 years, and he doesnt have a 2nd back to spell him near the goal line, so you think he would be the safe pick, and i consider do consider him a tie with the other 2 above looking at just TD total, its just i gave the tiebreaker to Henry and Bush because i think they will both have more yards this year.

is this a good offer to make?

I dont like that deal as much, i dont think i would do it.

Better keeper Options? ($100 auction league)

How long can you keep Ronnie Brown and Rivers at $22? Because that extra 13 dollars is an extra pretty decent #2 RB, and thats the direction i would lean based on the limited information you gave me.
  12. MTSkiBum

What is my best option for RB in PPR?

One of the last RB's i would take is lynch. The bills dont have a high powered offense, its going to be a full blown RBBC with A-train getting the goal line carries. A green traditionally has done well in PPR leagues, so he is certainly a possibility, however I could see Caddy improving greatly in a PPR league with the addition of a west coast QB like Jeff Garcia at the helm.
  13. MTSkiBum

What would you look to do @ this pick?

I would take Foster, because i expect him to actually outperform D williams this year, expecially in a PPR, this is because i have read that D williams has been doing terrible on pass protection, that means that Foster will be in on passing situations, plus this would give you a starting RB all year long, even if one of those guys goes down.
  14. MTSkiBum

is this a good offer to make?

I would say you are slightly getting a better deal, but i expect both those WR's to be pretty much worthless in a standard league this year.

    Another Draft Help Question...

I would probably go RB, but chose one that has an upside in the recieving game. Late round RB's that should do well in PPR include Tatum Bell- Mad Mike Martz! Ahman Green- always been a pretty decent recieving back, plus first year QB's tend to dump the ball off alot B Jackson- Favre tends to hit the RB quite a bit, in fact maybe ahman had inflated PPR numbers cause of favre? later on RB's that could be good in PPR AP- if you can get him after his ADP their is always a chance that the try to use him like saints used bush last year If you decide to go RB a good 2nd-3rd round WR for you in PPR that you should target would be Crotchery, down the stretch last year he actually had more balls thrown his way than coles, and coles had the 6th most receptions in the league last year(all this is dependent on the glass QB staying upright)

    Keeper League

I would lean Randy Moss, only because McNabb is coming off an ACL surgery, and because Reed passed off the play calling duties late last year to the OC. And the philly OC likes to run the ball alot more than Reid ever did. Plus with moss you always have the upside of 1350 and 10(although i dont see that happening), with brown you dont have that upside. However if you can keep, keepers forever, and you feel like you dont have a team that can compete this year(yeah right ), i expect Brown to have the better longterm value.

    1st round decision

Since you can start 2 flex, I would definantly go RB in the first round, however, because of your keeper rules you shouldnt try to draft young. Giving up a first round pick is tough, its much better in your league to draft a ton of young guys late and hope to get lucky, and draft the best possible guy you can get early. Lynch is in a RBBC and one that is in a tough division, not a great offense, and in a system where A-train will get most the goal line carries, so i would cross him off right away. AP is also the 2nd guy in a RBBC on a bad offense, he goes off the list too. Green will outproduce both of them, but i am not sold on him. Is tatum bell available? Since it looks like K jones will start the year on pup he could be a good breakout canditate. List us some more choices that arent young, because in your system i would hardly ever want to keep a first round pick.

Second Keeper and First Round Draft Opinions

I would keep alexander, if he returns to form you have the possibilty of having 2 top 10 RB's and that is always a good thing. Plus the dropoff between a top 10 RB and a 10-20 RB is alot greater than a top 10 WR and a 10-20 WR, this is why I recomend Alexander even though I think wayne is going to be top 5.

    Draft Help plz

I would rather have Brandon Jackson in a keeper league than either Norwood or Williams. It looks like Foster is actually going to be the starter in Carolina, and in atlanta what greatly helped the running game was the fact that a linebacker always had to spy vick, without that they can keep 8 in the box easy. Who else is available though?
  20. MTSkiBum

    Fitzgerald

Wisenhut actually said 600 times! heh, but who trusts coach speak in preseason.

    Keeper Help! WHIR!

Last year Caddy was playing injured the entire season. He had a terrible offense, and QB problems throughout, no passing game to take 8 out of the box, and only had 225 carries. He averaged a measly 3.5 ypc. For this upcoming year they brought in Luke Petigrout(blocker for Tiki) and they have 2 second year linemen who they are high on. And they drafted a lineman(RG)who is expected to be an upgrade, and start right away. Between a decent starting QB and the upgrades to the line i expect an increas of .4 minumum in Caddy's YPC. If he stays healthy i expect a 315 carry season out of him. This is partly due to the fact that i think Buc's defense should live up to the hype and be able to keep them in the game enough to run in the 4th quarter. This would put him at 1100 yard season. Also with this upgraded offense he should score more than 1 TD this year, lets say a conservative estimate of 5 in the rushing game. Caddy also is a pretty decent receiving back, last year even though he had dismal numbers in the rushing game he still had 200 receiving yards, their is no reason not to assume that this would go up to 250 and 2 TD's with a west coast QB like Garcia in charge. This means that i am projecting 1350 yards and 7 TD's for Caddy should he remain healthy and the defense can keep them in the game enough to rush in the 4th quarter. This would be 170-180 fantasy points. That would put him in the range of 15-25 ish for RB's a good solid #2 and decent value in the 4th. Deuce on the other hand, we know plays in a high powered offense, but he very well could lose 10 carries and a couple TD's this year to Bush, this would drop him from the 180 fantasy points he had a year ago to 165-175 just slightly below Caddy. Tampa's schedule down the stretch Week 14 Texans 19th best rushing defense last year Week 15 Atlanta- last year had 9th best rushing defense- this is a downside if they keep the same quality of rush defense. Week 16 San fran 20th best rushing defense last year Lynch and AP shouldnt even be in the equation if you are drafting Turner to be a keeper next year.

    Complicated Scenario

I dont like that strategy, QB's arent scarce in a 10 man start 1 QB system. The whole benefit of drafting peyton is you dont have to take a 2nd QB untill round 12-15 thus opening up all those rounds inbetween to fill in the depth at the other positions. The other 9 teams will easily be able to get solid QB's so i dont think you would have alot of trade leverage in this scenario.
