If you cut a guy, there's a hit on your salary cap. If you trade a guy, his new team assumes his contract and there's no hit on the old team's cap. This is one of the reasons there aren't many trades in the NFL--the guy's new team would have to pay his salary plus give something up to get him. i think the team that is trading away a player still has to pay the signing bonus, and it hurts the team the same as cutting a player.

Looking back, I think the Mannings saw this coming, and didn't want it to happen to him. They knew a team such as the Giants would draft a QB with immediate intentions on getting him started. The Chargers were more concerned about the now, rather than the later! brees is the future, this is only his 5th year in the nfl. If he continues to play at the level he has this year and last, he will have at least 6-7 more very productive years.

modest mouse is my favorite band, but how are they not mainstream? They are on some commercials, and everyone i know likes them. Maybe bands are mainstream because people like them? I really enjoy Perfect Circle, and have seen them in concert twice, but I wouldn't want them to be on halftime on MNF anytime soon. You guys who are posting need to open yourselves to country. It has a real fit to football. I like rap, country, southern rock, hard rock, and alternitive. It is refreshing to hear some country on TV from time to time instead of the alternitive music that dominates all other TV shows and adds.

i like country, it is americas favorite music whether you like it or not. I also like rap and hiphop and enjoyed the intro with mike vick, although they seemed to try to hard with the rhyming.
