I think you're missing something there. Think about all of the absolutely great quarterbacks who have voluntarily restructured their contract to benefit the team. - it's not like they knocked on the owner's door and said hey I want less money. Those stories are reported as "Tom Brady voluntarily agreed to restructure his contract..." RW already had a sweetheart deal. I seriously doubt they just walked up to him one day and said " hey here's our terms. agree to them or sit down." There is no mention of any negotiation or flexibility coming from the Wilson camp. Given the egregious amount of money that he had already received not to mention was slated to continue to receive, and the fact that he had that played well by any stretch, he should have done like Alex Smith did and said "hey whatever it takes to keep me on the team".
