South Carolina becomes 29th state in nation with constitutional carry law
cyclone24 replied to Maximum Overkill's topic in The Geek Club
Well, the actual conversation is you guys jerking each other off about how South Carolina has convinced itself if they just let people carry around guns wherever they want that somehow we are all safer. There’s absolutely absolutely nothing on the planet that says this is true. By the way, guess where all of the top 10 per capita gun deaths are. I’ll let you guess which way those states vote. -

Do you live in gangville? No. You’ll be killed by a legal gun owner. You’re not caring because you think you’re going to be in some sort of gang related shootout. You are literally carrying in suburban neighborhoods because of the threat of most likely a legal gun owner. Bad people problem? We have mass shootings EVERY day by legal gun owners too. -

That’s a bat shiit level of paranoia world I’m really glad I don’t live in. I can’t even imagine being so scared I can’t even go get a cup of coffee without strapping up like Robocop. we lead the planet and number of guns and what do you know? We have a massive gun problem. The fact you guys can’t connect the two and you think more guns in society will solve the problem despite everything in your faces saying it doesn’t is a joke. But hey as long as it’s not your elementary school right? -

But where those illegal guns are I’m guessing you never go so guess which one you’re going to get killed with. That’s the point. -

Whats a “bad person”? Because again your odds of getting killed by an illegal gun in a terrible neighborhood are far less than by a legal gun owner going to a concert, grocery store, or mall. this isn’t rocket science. Its where you live and frequent. I mean are you honestly worried about getting shot by an illegal gun owner? Seriously. -
But we have to save them!!! (Liberal rubes) Fock em. Makes no difference if they fall.

Lol as I said before, I’m guessing most of us live in medium to fairly nice white suburbia. We don’t run across a lot of stolen guns. Know what we do run into? Legal gun owners that snap and go into the mall we live nearby. But yeah, go on about this irrational fear that you’re going to be in a shootout with some gangbanger. -

With his law, going to the grocery store to get milk, there will undoubtedly be more guns running around. The illusion of safety from gun over is hilarious. -

Yet they keep coming in droves. Weird how that happens when the Democrat is in charge. Maybe you can get a memo to them that it’s so locked up. You guys are not serious humans. If you can’t see, these people are rotting our country from the inside out at this point I don’t know what to tell you. Another example where policy based off of emotion rather than logic is literally is getting people killed. -

I’m just ready for the side that would allow one person to go against the will of the people to vote for whoever they want on a ballot, the same people that would blow up the Supreme Court because of rulings they don’t like, the side that would literally throw Trump in jail if they could, eliminate the electoral college, and pretty much all voting requirements, lecture us about how Republicans are a threat to democracy. -

Im ok with that. -
Oh, I agree I would never pay for it. Doesn’t mean I’m not going to be watching though. Allegedly of course.
-
Exactly. If he doesn’t take him out in first like three minutes, it starts to become uh-oh and starts dangling into the area of not expecting vintage Mike but you also don’t want to see him get pummeled by a YouTube star with frosted tips.
-
Because you’re not going to watch him fight the 15th ranked fighter at his weight. But you will watch him fight Tyson, or a bear or whatever circus act he brings in.
-
Yeah, sure let’s just ruin the nostalgia of Tyson. I’ll watch but it’s probably going to be more depressing than it is fun to watch

Patrick McCaffery on his expectations for the crowd on Sunday: "I would hope it's pretty good. But I don't know. Our crowds have been pretty bad most of the year with the exception of a couple games. So who knows. I hope it's good." JFC… -

Yeah, you guys are actually playing really well right now. I joked with a buddy that I’m fully mentally prepared for you guys sneaking in as a 10 seed and beating us in the second round as a two seed making the sweet 16. At that point, I will slowly just walk into the sea. -

I wouldn’t say in either men’s or women’s basketball your attendance has been great comparatively to Iowa State. Iowa hasn’t made a sweet 16 since the late 90s… I wouldn’t say they’ve done pretty good. You’ve definitely had some good individual players, but it really hasn’t translated unfortunately. Yeah, Megan is great though. When I had a team in that TBT tournament, she was going to play for us. That was a wild few weeks when we announced that. -
I’m torn because even though I voted for Trump, I don’t think he can beat Joe in a general election. Haley absolutely could but we have way too many of these dopey red Maga hat wearing goobers that can’t see anything other than they want Trump back in. I don’t need it to be Trump. I just need it to not be Democratic policies. The problem with Haley is she didn’t want to push all in and go independent because she knows it’s career suicide in her state. If you’re not willing to risk at all to win, then I don’t have a lot of sympathy for you.

to me it’s just not an interesting product. There’s rarely a time where I see a girl make a move that I just go. Wow. It’s very basic. It’s slow. And I think gun to their heads Iowa fans would tell you if she didn’t wear Iowa on her jersey they wouldn’t care. Season tickets are going to plummet next year because the rest of that team just isn’t fun to watch. As an Iowa State alum, we think it’s kind of funny, because for 25 years, we’ve been one of the top women’s programs as far as attendance, and now Iowa fans jump in when they finally have a unicorn and act like hard-core fans. -

Exactly. It’s an easy perception to have for one simple reason, the game is entirely played under the rim. I coached men’s and women’s junior college basketball for a few years and the women’s game is definitely a bigger chess match because you don’t have to account for a guy getting forced baseline, but he still leaps goes underneath the basket in the air and does something incredibly athletic. Clark is great. She was at a perfect storm not going to one of the elite schools and going where the coach would let her shoot as much as she does. Unlike the elite teams Iowa didn’t schedule a tough non-conference schedule pretty much her entire career. There’s a reason she went to Iowa. -

Credit card late fees capped at $8 under new Biden admin rule
cyclone24 replied to seafoam1's topic in The Geek Club
Proposed by the government. Are there any other businesses you would like the government to cap their earnings for literally no reason whatsoever? It’s an agreement. The customer enters into it knowing that there’s fees and it’s not free money. If they choose to enter into the agreement, they should pay for it if they don’t live up to the contract. I don’t understand why this is that hard. -

Who determines what is reasonable? Why don’t we just determine what is reasonable for income across-the-board? Let’s look into how well you should be able to do in stocks. Getting an awful lot of vacations this past year maybe we should look into how many of those people should be able to take. I know you’ve worked here for 25 years but you sure get a lot of days off we should probably limit some of those and give them to newer people. It’s just a slope of insanity. If you don’t like the fees, don’t get the credit card. Seems simple.
