Stupid BS sports question. Would you ……….
SaintsInDome2006 replied to MikeMatt's topic in The Geek Club
Nope! Stoopid falcs will never win one anyway. And it’s really silly with the Yankees. Poor Yanks they only have like 25 Series wins to look back on. -
I’m not calling anyone a socialist, especially Jon. But point of fact the state owning & acquiring companies is 100% pure socialism.
-
I guess they never found the agents to do the perp walk. It’s kind of refreshing Patel & Co. may have actually followed the rules even if they were forced to because they couldn’t find anyone to do their bidding.
-
I’m not sure Halligan knows. Seriously. One of the articles I posted above mentioned this, there’s something really factually off with the anonymized Persons named. Link.

8 years ago is way past the statute of limitations.

Central witness undermines case against James Comey, prosecutors concluded >>Daniel Richman -- a law professor who prosecutors allege Comey authorized to leak information to the press -- told investigators that the former FBI director instructed him not to engage with the media on at least two occasions and unequivocally said Comey never authorized him to provide information to a reporter anonymously ahead of the 2016 election, the sources said. <<

Ok this is the exact opposite of what’s happening but I’m glad to hear you acknowledge he does have that legal obligation. What do you think of the US government taking ownership stakes in corporations? That is pure socialism.
-
Apparently no prosecutors in EDVA will prosecute Comey, so Halligan has gone & gotten lawyers from outside the district. - MSNBC. - Should be amusing who actually signs on to this thing tomorrow. - It’s 2 lawyers from EDNC. NYT.

Elon says that Trump is in the Epstein files.

Yes, like Trump himself. And as with Epstein Trump also went to Combs’ parties. -
US Federal Government Shutdown Thread

Watching 28 Days Later would probably be more helpful right now. -
All he’s done is shift money from agencies he hates (but which Congress created & funded) to agencies he likes (without asking Congress). It’s completely unconstitutional. - What part of being a Libertarian says a president by himself can crank up tariffs - which are just as valorum taxes? And there’s nothing libertarian about saying the nation’s unitary leader can say who to prosecute & who not to?

Apparently airline & airport scheduling is a real cluster.Transportation Secretary & Director of NASA with his years of management of large agencies & crises preparation is all over this yall. -
I used to work in what was then 1 of tge 2 coffee shops in NO. I never go to Starbucks if I can help it but most towns don’t have that choice. I’ll inevitably hit one when I’m out of town because I usually find the coffee terrible most places, but in L.A. one place I used to like to go was Urth coffee.

Peggy Lipton. Cheryl Ladd / Jaqueline Smith (big debate there). Barbara Bach (or any Bach sister really).

While I do think Trump is motivated by fear here I also think he’s a moral cretin & he just plain identifies with these people. He’s released other criminals & he’s repeatedly expressed his admiration of the world’s greatest villains. -

Oh coincidentally another sex trafficker whom he likes to call “Puff Daddy” has asked him for a pardon. So many sex trafficker friends so little time. -
The power hasn’t disappeared, it’s merely transferred from Congress, the courts, & the states & localities, and yes independent bureaucrats like prosecutors, to one man, the president. You’re merely restating an old justification for authoritarianism.

The federal government buying an actual share of ownership in Intel is actual socialism. The federal government with no Congressional vote amping up a VAT tax as a ‘tariff’ is socialism. The federal government divvying out a share of TikTok to connected donors is corrupt socialism. All in the name of saving us from socialism.

Libertarian. I have voted Libertarian on occasion. I have *no idea how anyone who can remotely think of themselves that way can tolerate this massive increase in executive & federal governmental power. I see much more Mao here than Rand (& really Rand (ie Ayn) would be throwing things if she were around to see this).

Department of Justice opens criminal investigation into NY AG Letitia James
SaintsInDome2006 replied to jbycho's topic in The Geek Club
Second verse same as the first: EDVA prosecutor overseeing the Letitia James case has declined to press charges. -
You’re maga-aligned, a fellow traveler, and there’s no sunlight between ‘wake up’ and ‘woke’. That’s what Woke means, that a person can see some enlightenment that others are lacking. As old as the hills. Or see Huey Newton & the Far Left who adopted that phrase, they talked like that. But my point is if you believe all these awful, corrupt people were appointed by one man then assuredly you can see the main link being the man who appointed them. Ah, but no, you’re awake (woke) while I am asleep.
-
The thing where maga accuses Trump of appointing corrupt SOBs (multiple, scores) never ceases to amuse me.
-
See, all that stuff - Patel could release a report on that with the backup documentation. Nope.

>>Federal prosecutors in Virginia met remotely with Durham in August to understand the findings of his investigation, according to sources familiar with the meeting, and his conclusions raise the prospect that Durham -- who was once elevated by Trump and other Republicans believing he would prosecute high-level officials involved with the investigation of the president's 2016 campaign -- could now become a key figure aiding Comey's defense. The prosecutors also met with a team of lawyers at the U.S. Attorney's Office in Washington, D.C., who had investigated Comey for years -- including calling him to testify before a grand jury in 2021 -- but were unable to identify any chargeable offenses committed by Comey, sources familiar with the meeting said. After conducting their own two-month investigation, prosecutors in Virginia reached the same conclusion as both Durham and the D.C. prosecutors: They'd be unable to prove Comey made false statements to Congress to obstruct their investigation. Presenting their findings in a lengthy declination memo, the prosecutors explicitly mentioned the two other investigations to bolster their recommendation that probable cause does not exist to charge Comey, according to sources familiar with the contents of the memo.<< >>Speaking with federal prosecutors over an hour-long video conference in late August, Durham reiterated his team's finding that Comey's testimony does not support false statements charges, sources familiar with Durham's interview said. The 2025 investigation of Comey followed the same evidence and matched the conclusion reached by Durham, whose vast investigation spanned four years and two presidential administrations. The grand jury, which last month heard evidence against Comey, appeared to reach the same conclusion that Comey did not lie to Congress about the intelligence report, returning a no bill for the first false statements count sought by Halligan.<<
