Pete Hegseth texted war plans to a reporter by accident

I'm fine with your criticism. I'm saying Biden stuck with her and like much of his administration he hired professionals and he by and large kept his team intact, largely seeking Senate approval for appointments per the Constitution. Trump's administrations are carousels. And the number of people running things is getting smaller and smaller. -

She was the VP & the President supported her as his successor. Meanwhile VP Pence - who was utterly loyal & constantly spoke for the president and his behalf - was the subject of death threats and a possible attempt on his life & Trump chose someone different, attacking Pence in constant and vile fashion. So yeah VP is a good example, two terms, two VPs. -

No one cares - & it doesn't matter - how any one person is doing in the stock market. I'm not saying no one cares about Davis' opinion. I am interested in that. -

Hey fine, you're right, I made that up out of thin air, there's no rumor Rubio will be removed as NSA, 7th time is the charm, eh. -

There is no liberal comp for this. Let's say that you as a conservative or Republican care about the Appointments Clause. Let's just pretend. Ok. Let's just look at PSNSA: Trump1: Flynn (convicted) McMaster Bolton Kupperman O'Brien Trump2: Waltz Rubio (already leads State, USAID). Supposedly Rubio will soon be replaced. Forget Dems, there's no Republican who was this incompetent at stocking his own cabinet. It's ridiculous. -

Apparently Waltz was using a knock-off app made in Israel for his communications and the data was being stored out of country. Brilliant. -
EU Parlimentary Elections and a Surprise out Macron's France
SaintsInDome2006 replied to Voltaire's topic in The Geek Club
So, what we've seen recently: UK - huge win for Labor. France - Macron and the left/center-right coalition held. Canada - the left one. Germany - again a win for the left & center-right. And yesterday Brisbane time it was the left winning in Australia. As in Canada the conservatives had held a pretty solid lead through mid-late 2024. -

I just don't look, but I'm fine. But for the x-thousandth time, it's not about you or me any poster. No one cares about your roster. -

Right, because they’re worried Stefanik will lose her seat. whats even more ludicrous is Rubio is now NSA, & maybe Stephen Miller (!) will take over from him. -
Thank you for the response, but I rather disagree on the claim Trump is following restrictions. I do hope that Gulliver like the massive inertia of our great financial political weight ties him down with a thousand strings. Ideally that happens.

See this is the thing - you don’t like the outcome. But that - the negotiations, the crafting, the agreement & setting down the thing in law - is democracy. That’s the opposite of “dictatorship.” - Here you *like the outcome, but it’s not done democratically or constitutionally. I don’t want things *I want however the given leader we select does them. For me the democracy is the priority, those are my values.

And fwiw I disagree that compromise is completely impossible. The GOP House, Dem Senate, & Dem President had a deal on immigration, the hardest issue in America, & it was crafted & led by a Senator from a deep red state who had regularly protected Trump in his 1st term. That happened. Just one problem.

It’s just my perspective, the system broke down between the 1990s & 2010s, basically because of money in financing & consulting & social/new media. But it doesn’t justify the President making a massive power grab using lies & false legal pretenses, which is all this is.
-
WADR a far amount of that is eccentric. You raised the filibuster. I’m pro-Constitution & IMO the power of Congress is paramount. If an opposing party filibusters the solution is to negotiate & compromise.
-
Are you arguing that a minority party using the rules of the Senate is somehow dictatorship?
-
I saw a stat recently that Trump2 is outpacing FDR’s use of EOs & no other president is remotely close to those two. Difference is FDR had passed a raft of groundbreaking legislation that required implementation. OTOH Trump hasn’t passed one bill in Congress. Not one. What Trump is doing is tearing down laws that Congress has passed, some recent, some decades old & foundational. And he’s doing it by fiat & *against the letter & spirit of the law.

Iran talks also cancelled. Maybe having a New Jersey real estate developer handle all of Russia, Iran & Gaza was a poor choice.

An American Judge.

Trump is the 2nd oldest president in US history, right. This is just one example but this thread is filled with examples that certainly seem to be someone who has dementia or who was just emotionally and mentally unstable to begin with.

I'll just add the ultimate point is that a judge has ordered him back to the US. That's it, that's the whole bottom line. -

If you're talking about Garcia, he was released under Trump1, in 2019. Trump's ICE did the check-ins with him just as Biden's did.
