The crime he broke was that he was using corporate funds to hide what he believed to be a crime. It could be any crime & it could be mixed in with personal stuff. It doesn’t have to be anything he’s charged with eventually either. The crime was campaign finance laws on the reporting of payments during a campaign. It’s the exact same thing they got Edwards on, only Cohen testified against Trump while Edwards’ aide testified for him. Which is reason no 509 why Trump shouldn’t have ostracized Cohen.

The crazy thing - if Trump hadn’t sued Stormy for $20 million it would’ve all gone away (& in the end Mr. Art O’Deal ended up paying *her). The WSJ already had reported the story.
