I’m a Catholic. What denomination are you?
-
I said the American edifice, not the Christian one. As to Christianity he’s an apostate. Right now his social media feed features an image of himself as a massive golden statue in Gaza.
-
If you’re making a point about the American psyche (some argue the Ferris character is Cameron’s I’d) I’m only going to agree with you.
-
I’m being very serious. The issue of celebrities as political leaders was raised. Trump wouldn’t be where he is without Mark Burnett & his TV show.
-
Sure, while you posit a debaucherous felon at the top of it all, like some King Kong Bourbon Street barker perched on top of the American edifice.
-
Then stop raising Christianity. Maga doesn’t care about Christianity in policy or politics, it’s about raw power.
-
No one serious in business respected him. In business circles he was viewed with ridicule. His business model was a series of pass through entities dependent on liquidity. His brother, who kept the old family business, was respected in NYC.
-
If you really believe that you should be arguing for ‘none of the above’.
-
Trump was a pitchman & reality TV host before he got elected. He used to use his Twitter account to sell cookies & peanut butter.
-
It is funny, since the Republican Party is supposed to represent limited government.
-
This is so odd. Trump himself is antithetical to Christian values, but if that is raised we are told morality in politics doesn’t matter.

“The essential American soul is hard, isolate, stoic and a killer.” - D. H. Lawrence, 1923

While we as a nation continue to have these horrific events one after the other, sometimes more than one at once (Utah, Co shootings the same day), the left & the right go after each others’ throats. Who gains by this? The measures that *might solve these problems could easily appeal to the non-extreme left & right both. But we’re immobilized because we attack each other.

Fascist attacks on Individuals and Speech

The FBI has fired up to 22 agents who knelt at a protest. >>The three sources who spoke to Reuters on condition of anonymity put the number of terminations at between 15 and 22, with an unspecified portion being among those who came under fierce criticism from right-wing commentators for taking a knee during the demonstration. The agents in question, pictured in photographs and videos of the incident that went viral, were not kneeling in a display of sympathy for the Black Lives Matter movement, as critics have suggested, but did so in a gesture to ease tensions between protesters and law enforcement, the sources said.<< -
A lot has changed here. I know some liberals (or whoever) will complain (& I get it) but things used to be much worse around here.
-
The revolution will not be televised. However, there will be good beer.

I understand - now why are Bondi, Patel & Bongino covering for him?
-
I’m only agreeing with you that was the subtext of his statement.
-
Exactly, he’s fully conscious of what people were saying about him, which is an ok takeaway about that clip.

>>After listing several dangers posed by a potential second Trump presidency at a Democratic Party campaign office here, Biden said: “I know this sounds bizarre. It sounds like, if I said this five years ago, you’d lock me up. We’ve got to lock him up.” As the group of Democratic officials burst into applause, Biden appeared to realize his remark was being interpreted literally. He quickly added, “Politically lock him up.”<< - Biden was saying people who would’ve said lock him up as in he would’ve been viewed as crazy 5 years ago. He was saying Trump is a madman, which he frankly is. Then this great tyrant speaking in front of looks like 50 people realizing he might be misinterpreted clarified himself.
-
At roughly 1:55 - “politically lock him up, lock him out…”. I do encourage people to watch that video.
-
I have to say the ‘Biden didn’t do it’ line is ineffective. It just invites the ‘both sides’ nihilism maga craves, and Jennings is a paid spokesman so it’s not an honest discussion. No president ever did this, except one, Nixon, who was then made to resign. - It’s unconstitutional & authoritarian, period.

Stephen Miller seems psychotic but this is a fully conscious harangue.
