  1. Eh like I said if someone can’t pass a driving test because they can’t read then they should fail the test & be denied a DL of any kind. I’m thinking this probably happens. Did his inability to read actually cause the wreck?
  2. So Singh was here on a work permit, so he was legal but not a citizen. It is truly sad what you mention in Denver. I have a family friend whose daughter knew 4 college aged girls killed on US 90 a couple years ago. Tragic, awful stuff.
  3. It would help if the gentleman in the OP would provide a link with his post. But I don’t mind checking.
  4. Of course not. He’s muddling what Castro did & the term ‘asylum’ to confuse people, which he’s done.
  5. Well because if that’s Trump’s reason - along with fighting communism - we should be fighting Cuba, not its client.
  6. Well it does IMO. I’m saying the man’s ethnicity has nothing to do with it. Also (forgive me for not checking) but is he an American?
  7. Things are a little screwed up. I merely tried to agree with you & suggested it should apply to all licenses & all Americans (or others). I just think it’s odd to focus on this guy being an Indian or Indian-American when at least in my city in a red state there are loads of incompetent drivers many of whom I’d guess are certainly illiterate.
  8. I think this is the correct answer. And frankly I think America may need to prepare fort he idea Congress will not come back.
  9. Just an idea - maybe the Senator & his staff could call some House members & get to work writing a bill that - just hear me out here - could both pass the House *and get enough votes in the Senate. This could be done by (outside the box thinking here) negotiating changes to the text. (Fun fact, Fetterman has had mass staff departures, reportedly partly because he won’t do actual work).
  10. Hey folks - anyone know what would happen in the last 236 years if a bill couldn’t get the votes to pass in the Senate just once? Every time, thousands of times. Guess if you don’t know.
  11. Thanks, I agree. Wouldn’t the employer know this too, or the guy’s boss at least?
  12. I’m really trying to agree with Megla, I just don’t understand why he’s limiting it to CDLs.
  13. I might agree with you here. For one thing Trump wanted to invade VZ in 2018. For another liberals might say it’s about tge oil. Others might say it’s so Trump, his families & donors can profit. And still others might say it’s about communism. But IMO Trump doesn’t care about communism. He’s great friends with Kim, Xi & Putin, & also if he was really mmm y about getting communism out of our sphere he’d start wuth Cuba, not Venezuela.
  14. I honestly had no idea, but thank you. Are you suggesting illiterate Americans should be allowed to have standard DLs?

Good response, seriously. - That’s a fair point, but then I never voted for Obama.
  16. I’m only going to agree with you but that applies to Mayflower Americans too. I live in Louisiana, which might have the lowest literacy rate in the country & has a load of French speakers. I think coincidentally we also have the near highest accident rate & auto insurance rates. I mean, I’d be glad if there was a literacy test for everything, except voting, from drivers licenses to the presidency.
  17. Actually I wasn’t sure if CDL meant driver’s licenses, I thought DL was drivers license. But yes I take it the Indian, Hindu Second Lady & her parents have DLs/CDLs.

If you had a vote would you vote for Sliwa? Or do as Trump dictates and vote for Cuomo?

    Election Night 2025

Thanks. I guess one other thought on this is that there was almost no difference between the Giuliani & Bloomberg campaigns & administrations in terms of actually running the city. If Bloomberg - despite being an actual Republican - wasn’t a “real” Republican then neither was Giuliani. He was a “liberal Republican.” Rudy only became Maga-like when he started representing greasy foreign billionaires & politicians after leaving office. He just got sanctions dropped against Milo Dodik, the leader of the breakaway Srebska republic. Hunter Biden only wished he could get gigs like that. But still today’s Giuliani bears no resemblance to the America’s Mayor of 2000.
  20. Im sorry are you asking me if the Second Lady & her parents have drivers licenses? Im sure they do. Vance has likely had them under different names.

Not the Wall Street billionaire entrepreneur? And not the cop? And Sliwa can’t get an endorsement either. The difference here is what’s Republican now is determined by what the nation’s hyperemotional leader decides it is on a daily basis.
  22. Hey yall let’s get rid of 150,000 truckers & see what happens to costs & the chain (or as the nation’s leader calls it, the Supply Change).
  23. This could also describe the Second Lady & the Vice President’s in laws.

    Election Night 2025

All fair points, but I don’t think Giuliani was such an anomaly or Bloomberg. Adams was pro-police & eventually aligned with Trump. That was 4 years ago. The main factor with Sliwa is that absolutely no one serious has run against him. And though I’m sure progressives hate his group’s vigilantism he has good character. I haven’t seen one Republican or Maga here say one word in his favor.
