Right. No it's not. Roughly 2015-16 with Trump everything became politicized. Sports, food, movies, shoes, beer, everything.

You might be right about this, I never understood the players, and Dodds left early in the Trump era. But at some point they had a larger staff of mods than the original core group. I just meant that many times pro-Trump or Maga or just basically current news got the button as did the poster. If I assumed it was a maga person behind it incorrectly forgive me. Basically just news - like Trump getting covid, Melania's behavior, or the fact that ads were being run against Trump - got deleted and the poster nicked.

Prosecute each and every person who destroys private property. I have a question - is the Trump DOJ hiring *more people and *increasing funding for local police & prosecutors? Because that’s what an AG & President who care about this issue would do. -
I agree. I’ll just add the moderators - who were there for football & were writers & creators - were spending too much time on political moderation, rules were put on rules, & enforcement became schizophrenic when a Maga type mod would rule one way & then a liberal type would rule another. Sometimes topics got banned because well they were controversial, it didn’t matter the motive or point of the content. And ultimately Joe didn’t want some of the more unseemly posts being associated with his board on google searches. I don’t blame him. He’s built something terrific as have Mike & Co. at FFT. Having said that, it’s pretty hilarious watching the economy & foreign affairs being discussed in a “non-political” manner.
-
Actually it was worse. But a mistake you’re making is that FBGs was unique. It was just an exemplar of American society. I echo @Fnordabove. Let people be adults, even the children. And actually FFT Geek board used to have a very nasty sub-element, & those folks have gone. So I think FFT is better now too.

One of Harris’ worst flaws as a politician was this tendency to break into laughter at the most inappropriate times. Argue that we’re faced with dire threats - self imposed economic collapse, autocracy, allegiance with dictatorships, foreign influence in the Oval Office - & then break into laughter & petty schadenfreude. The tone calls for an FDR, JFK or Reagan, or a Thatcher, but this is not that.

It’s not my party but it doesn’t matter. Example?

2-1, so basically the Chargers.

This amuses me because exhortations like that in this thread title have their best comp in place like North Korea, Maoist China, Stalinist USSR.

LIBERATION DAY: USA and China agree to a 90 day pause on most new tariffs

Right, I completely agree, because it’s a fantasy that it could ever be returned to normal. -

I’m talking about what it would take to recreate the economies of scale & the price point we’ve traditionally enjoyed, & you’re talking about the difficulty of building an assembly & test facility. Got it, fine, agreed. -

Sorry, just clarify for me, are you in favor of aligning with the Kremlin or not? The US still has $5 billion+ in trade with Russia & Belarus, but Trump excepted them from a worldwide trade war. -

A factory. I said factories. They have to move all manufacturing capacity here. They’ll never meet the labor costs they had before, the added costs of materials will be baked in as will the costs of added retaliatory tariffs from nations with suppliers. -

My understanding of what you’re saying is that we should support Trump’s aligning the US with the Kremlin. Got it. I disagree. Fwiw Hunter Biden was investigated & indicted by a Trump appointed prosecutor, his case was assigned to 2 Trump appointed judges, both of whom convicted him. I have no problem with any of that. AG Bondi could still indict other people involved in the Burisma deal as well. -

They’re a contractor, hired help. If anyone wants to rail at Obama & the progressives for hollowing out NASA so they have to rely on private contracting to do its missions go right ahead. -

I agree it wasn’t an oversight. Trump specifically excluding Russia & Belarus is in keeping with Trump’s fealty to Moscow. There’s no other explanation for it. -

The whole discussion is ridiculous. Presidents have no clue about whether or how a space mission can be run. It’s 100% a NASA operation. -

You seem like a genuinely decent, interesting & successful person. I’m sure you’ll be fine. But we’ve established this, it’s not about the secluded, impervious, independently wealthy. Frankly it has nothing to do with you. -
Yes, and it’s Laura Loomer, & apparently she’s literally *in* his ear.

Just out of curiosity - has Melania Knauss reported to her living quarters in the White House yet? TIA.

The article I posted made clear that pharmaceuticals were excluded, however the post I was responding to suggested I must be pro-"Big Pharma". I was merely responding that tariffs would very much just allow Big Pharma to crank up their prices, which is what all the major industries will do. Nonetheless, Trump is indeed threatening and has threatened to include pharmaceuticals in his ad valorum taxes.
