Wisconsin university professor placed on leave after allegedly flipping College Republicans' table
SaintsInDome2006 replied to seafoam1's topic in The Geek Club
Yeah I wouldn't object actually, but they have procedures and hearings for that stuff. Usually they get suspended then a board review. -
The maga proclivity for: 1. insults, 2. vulgarity, &/or 3. memes always amuses me.

The prof is in for a lengthy unpaid suspension. -
I actually thought that was the big objection. Frankly if he's a US citizen then I have no idea why Maga howls and invents so much about him. But again the best way to rein in a citizen like Soros or Musk or their ilk is campaign finance regulation and for that you need to change the court makeup.
-
But it styles itself as a department, which can only be created by Congress. And each agency has distinct firewalls. It's most likely because 1. ego, Musk overshadowing Trump, 2. The Wisconsin Effect, 3. Trump's own actual department heads revolting, and/or 4. the courts are finally drilling down on Musk's activities in the scores of lawsuits he has generated from his chaos.

Citizens United also applied to US contributions.
-
Ha, hey I agree. I think it's great he's leaving. Completely unconstitutional and wreckless. My comment is really how Trump created an imaginary lawless agency and within 5 months the two people he appointed it to head it up are gone.
-
Pretty sure the McCain-Feingold law prohibited foreign donations (ie like Soros) and it limited total contributions from any one person or entity and it ensured public reporting in a myriad of ways. The USSC's Republican appointed majority struck it down in Citizens United and later struck down pay-to-play laws like in McDonnell. People talk about Soros and Musk etc etc etc. I agree a 1000X over. I just don't get why people who are against such things constantly vote for people who support exactly that sort of Soros-type system.

Of course Ramaswamy got pushed out almost immediately after Trump came into office. Now Musk shoved out as well. America wanted its reality TV show back, it got it.

Iconic movies that actually suck if you rewatch them today.

I find The French Connection completely unwatchable. -
NPR chief admits dismissing Hunter Biden laptop story was a mistake

Guys - y'all - they didn't have security clearances. You don't keep your clearance when you leave your USG job unless you're granted one for some purpose. I don't think any of the people Trump took "clearances" from were doing anything for the government currently. Also, about indictments: The data came in under a Trump appointed AG. Trump appointed the prosecutor who handled the case. The two judges who heard the case were Trump appointed. Current AG Pam Bondi could still indict: Burisma, Zlochevsky, Blue Star, BHR, and any of the various financial entities who received the funds. If no one is indicted you will have to think seriously if Pam Bondi is really a Deep State plant. -
I'm fine with a policy that would enforce it... I just don't trust any democrat politician to write such a policy. If Stalin, Mao Zedong, and Hitler all said, "look, the sky is blue today", I'd believe them over and current Democrat politician. A worse human being has never existed in the world, than a current state or federally elected Democrat politician. But Republicans would enforce it though, right? So, just to continue on this theme: - How much money was involved in Hunter Biden's art deal, which you raised further up? Let's just say all the awful things said about it were all true - shadow Dem donors buying Hunter's 3rd grade finger painting to help him survive his legal and financial trouble - was it like $150-200K? I'm just guessing. This is the son of the president and supposedly political benefactors are trying to help him in order to save his father, a public official (President), embarrassment. - Ok. Here is the actual President of the US issuing privately held stock to the tune of $2.3 BILLION while in office. There's no traceability, we don't know if the buyers are corporate, businessmen with interests before the White House, or foreign businessmen, politicians or even adversary states like China, Iran, North Korea or Russia. We don't know.

I don’t think the best performance by a Dem in 30 years in 2 separate Florida districts is really just a blip either, while obviously I agree a W is a W. - I saw DeSantis this morning on Fox saying that the GOPer in FL1 was a Rino & I thought that was interesting, that might be what saved him not what cost him.

You don’t need to pull up a MSM article to know Yanukovych violated the whole premise of his campaign & then opened fire on his people when they protested.

I just went through their airport, it’s impressive. I’d like to travel for a Saints game one day but I don’t feel like going to another dome. I do hear it’s a nice city though, especially in the summer.
-
Amigo I’m still rolling on 48 hours of jet lag, I’ll sleep fine. I do enjoy talking politics though.
-
Fair point. But I think you'll be hard pressed any Dem getting this high a share, 40%, in the Panhandle for a federal or statewide election of any kind for the last 30 years.

This opinion piece by, Alan Kuperman, is filled with misstatements and false claims.

GOP wins the FLA 1st District by 15%. Trump won it by 37% last November. Gaetz first won the district with 69% of the vote. GOP wins the FLA 6th District by 15%. Trump won it by 30% last November. Waltz last won the district with 60% of the vote.

Pete Hegseth texted war plans to a reporter by accident
SaintsInDome2006 replied to Ron_Artest's topic in The Geek Club
IIRC NYT with the AP broke the Hillary email story. WaPo eventually had an email database where all the emails - & they obtained all the emails - were posted on a searchable database. -

There are multiple statutes, with subsections for almost every conceivable situation. The original idea was that no one could ever under any circumstances have an excuse for exposing classified information. -

The administration’s national security leadership is using private email for classified discussions. -
I understand and because of that there should be no such anti-corruption enforcement at all. Got it, done. I do feel differently but thank you for the response.

Basic level computer programmers & data experts can determine that data has been destroyed. Basically you're claiming Musk's team is cooperating in the coverup.
-
Musk’s minions have already been to the SSA. His team can refer all such fraud & data manipulation to Bondi. I’m sure we’ll start hearing about the indictments. I wonder how long it will take.
