This *whole thing you’re talking about isn’t about Islam. If you don’t believe me go look up pictures of Kabul or Tehran in the 70s, where women had some freedom & rights. The brand of Islam you are discussing is fundamentalist Islam or islamism. It largely stems from Wahhabism, which derives from a sect in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Those are the people who funded the mujahadeen movement, the Muslim Brotherhood & AQ/Isis,?& ultimately the 9/11/01 attacks. These are the people who run UAE & Saudi Arabia & whom Trump has fully embraced us to. He abjectly surrendered in Afghanistan. Not only that, now he’s in financial bed with these people, not just the US (us, you & me), he, his son in law & Trump Org are business partners with them, and thats the foundation of the Gaza “peace” deal. So if you want to be uninvolved (understandable, defensible) you picked the absolute wrong Arabian horse.

The Taliban controlled almost all of the country when we made that deal. Trump had cut forces down to 5000 IIRC. We cut a deal, and left out our Afghan allies entirely. Women were left to the Taliban’s cruelties.
