Fwiw the only policy Trump put in place was due to the pandemic. & the rest was people across the globe ceasing to travel nearly altogether. He didn’t change anything either. In fact the only way to really & legally change things is to legislate it - which maybe for the first time in maybe 8 years there was an actual bipartisan bill to do, until The Donald decided it would be popular & therefore bad for him personally.

I appreciate the more thoughtful response. I’ll point out first of all it was Republicans who ultimately refused Trump’s plan for the “wall”. Im not even against the wall in the sense it’s just a continuation of old policies that included fencing. But mass deportation? It’s pro-inflationary, incredibly expensive, wildly expands federal/centralized power, & would damage us in a myriad of unforeseen ways. That’s before we get to the civil/human rights issues.
-
Sure. Trump promised a reinforced border fence from coast to coast at zero cost, couldn’t get it passed, then he seized $10 billion to build something like 30 miles. So I’ll guess all in all we’re looking at something like $3 trillion.
-
How much, with the real costs, hidden taxes & inflation?

Pretty decent >75% chance in discussions with Maga the reply will be 1. vulgarity, 2. an insult, or 3. an emoji or gif. Or more than one of those.

No, that’s not the way it works. We’ll spend *lots more on border control because we’re being promised Pacific to Sabine lock down. Police resources will be used - so greater local costs, plus less local crime addressed. National guard on the border - costs to states. National guard to do extractions & detention camps - costs to states. Lawsuits upon lawsuits, everywhere & all the way to the USSC- federal, state & local costs. Disappeared cheap labor - increased costs to construction, ***insurance - these will most largely impact deep red states in the South - agriculture, restaurants, hotels, distribution, shipping. - This will all be passed to the consumer as a silent tax. Less spending by immigrants, their sales taxes & payroll taxes - decreased revenues across the board.

Trump vs Harris Policy Thread - $10,000 PER KID FOR HOMESCHOOL $7,000 COST OF LIVING REDUCTION

I’m not denying its policy. That was strictly a statement that the policy was based on populism only. -

This is populist nationalism. It ain't conservatism, it's not liberalism, it's not socialism or fascism, it's just whatever Trump thinks will make people do a transaction of their vote for his promises. It's completely destructive too and I'd be worried except the man is a complete fabricator, I'd trust a street junkie over him. -
I feel like Trevor Lawrence is getting too much of a pass

Because he’s been good enough. He’s nowhere near Young or Williams, but he does disappoint at crucial times & he never really has an explosive dominant game. Fans do get tired of mediocrity though. -
Obviously have to watch the practice reports but I'm expecting him back this week or next. Just traded for him.

I have a feeling it will be Hunt. But I can't stand it or Reid's games. No thank you.

League Winner Nominations - 2024 - Season Long Thread
SaintsInDome2006 posted a topic in FFToday Board
Just an idea for discussion - players who went undrafted or drafted in the bottom tier in normal leagues (10-16 teams, standard scoring, home $$ leagues with mix of experienced managers) who can rise up to make a difference in a championship run but also do so decisively, almost single handedly. Schedule & opportunity are factors too, not just talent. Jordan Mason? Tank Bigsby? Jamison Williams? -
They're not going to show their badge and ID on video because it would likely be posted to the internet and then used/copied.

The Second Amendment ("right to bear arms")

Unjust thought you might be interested. & it has some relevance as IIRC Routh used an SKS. The question is how did he get it. -

>>>Models with semi-automatic settings are available and legal in the U.S. Manufacturers cannot make or import fully automatic weapons for the civilian market. But you can still legally buy a fully automatic AK-47. Because this is America. Any automatic weapon fully registered before May 1986, with the passage of the Firearm Owners Protection Act, can be purchased or sold. This means there is a market of an estimated 175,000 legal automatic weapons in the United States. The limited legal supply also means that one of these rifles can be wildly expensive -- not to mention the stiff Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives oversight and a $200 excise tax. But if you can afford $10,000 for a legally automatic AK-47, $200 is likely not going to bother you.<<< https://www.military.com/off-duty/ak-47-all-about.html?amp -
I know he needs a lawyer.
-
Of course not. It just requires scores of people to falsify documents, evidence & testimonies & then keep it quiet for the rest of their lives.
-
Ah that explains why he testified in Morse.
-
Riversco. That’s it. Dark stuff, yeah I think Joe & Co. gave him the ax early.
-
Ah shoot, sorry for getting hung up.
-
So, can I ask you - how do you figure this with DePape testifying and confessing everything, under oath, the hammer, breaking in. What's the deal, Deep State forced him to lie on the stand?
-
No I swear, I'm not. Used the same handle here & FBGs since I signed up. Sorry if I got you confused. Totally got confused by what you were saying, took me a moment.

There was a Justin Herbert / Bolts guy (Rusty?) who used to post the darkest World War 3, end of days world stuff. Man. Did have some ok football takes though. Fun stuff.
-
Fascinating. Are you the old Justin Herbert / Bolts guy? Utilit? Craftsman? You've been at this since 2019-20?
