I happen to agree with conservatives on this. This girl was robbed. But it’s 100% a sports issue. It’s not a question for federal interference & at a minimum it’s for the sports association governing the race & at most it’s up to the state legislature. Shipping them back home where there are no criminal charges seems like it would make someone like this guy feel like they’ve been handed a gift.

I disagree. IMO it’s a question of sovereignty & justice. They break our laws they face our citizens & our courts. I’m not demanding you feel the same way, & I’m not saying you’re wrong either, it’s just the way I see it.

Because we already do. Minnesotans pay state taxes and federal taxes. Trying, incarcerating and executing bad guys is one of the most elemental forms of government.

The prohibition against emoluments would not be affected by that. What would trigger the prohibition is if foreign donors bought it in bulk. Nobody ever said presidents can't write books.
