    Trump's congressional address

Squiz, they know, & they’ve fired the people that told them. They’ve also fired the SSA administrator (he’s sued but the courts’ delays are something Trump has constantly leveraged). Trump is going to massively cut social security, Medicare & Medicaid. The lie will be used to justify it. We have passed from the Digital Age to the Disinformation Age.

What is the point of arguing with Libtards?

If Trump had said, “I’ve capped administrative costs for grants by the NIH awarded to scientists for the facility housing their work” it would not have had the same effect - on social media, here, on cable news, etc - as holding a brave young child aloft on national TV. It’s not a serious discussion.

    Trump's congressional address

Thanks for the response (I’m out of Likes apparently). Right, understood, but in 2016 the cry of ‘let’s expand & strengthen the 2006 bipartisan border infrastructure initiative!’ would not have exactly driven people to the polls.

    Trump's congressional address

This is a pretty common ploy with Trump. Note he reiterated ‘this is real.’ He did the same thing with the concept of asylum, basically a good concept engendering sympathy turned into something negative engendering fear. Border fencing (boring, policy wonkspeak) vs Wall (exciting, impenetrable).

What is the point of arguing with Libtards?

This is a good example of what goes on: - Donald celebrates a child who has overcome adversity in the face of cancer. Dems sit on their hands. - Probably a load of government funded treatment and research went into helping that child fight. - FBID Wray does the same thing, no one notices. - Cancer research funding is cut at least once in January & likely again many times over in the god knows what Musk & his team are doing. I don't want to debate any of these issues (please). Thing is we all support fighting cancer. That's a common value. Now is this something that we all feel should be top-5 on our priorities in who we vote for president? Above immigration? Above rooting out the Deep State? Above eliminating our debt? Above fighting trans right & DEI policies?

    The constitution

So, out of curiosity: - If Donald & Musk stopped funding the Congress, would you object? Would America permit it? Would Republicans? - If Donald & Musk stopped funding the Supreme Court, would you object? Would America permit it? Would Republicans? Donald & Musk now hold the keys, they could do this I think. It would be completely illegal of course.

Ha, alright buddy. My mistake. Have a good one.

What is the point of arguing with Libtards?

On the links, I agree if the goal is to "convince". Sadly I agree about shame`n'blame. But I still think it's interesting when people talk about their values, what they think is most important. It clarifies a lot.

    Absolutely true.

One of the worst things about internet culture is ~!Your Source Sucks!~ therefore shutting down conversation. One of the most amusing things to me about looking at Breitbart or Treehouse or pick your right wing news site is that inside the article they will just be linking to some left wing news source, like NYT or WaPo or the like. It's circular.

What is the point of arguing with Libtards?

Eh I'd agree that what one wants to get out of it affects everything. Just a couple notes: - About link-offs (my site vs your site) - if one wants to learn about where the other is getting their information, it's great. - Values: I've noticed that at some point a poster & the other poster (with a diametrically opposite POV) have an impasse and it's a question of values. That happens a lot. Agreeing on facts can be exhausting and time consuming but also if both posters agree on a given fact finally it may not really matter. Just leave it alone, no point on calling the person mean insults or the like after that (well unless it's really heinous, & I've seen that too, but very rarely).

What is the point of arguing with Libtards?

I've been (sadly) probably at it since that long one way or the other and I have seen many a reasonable conversation going both ways. And fwiw even if you don't bend it is worth exchanging POV's, news and information. You can learn a lot even if you don't change your conclusions, even say in the most strident conversation.
  15. That's not accurate. Under the partition from the USSR all the republics legally got the weapons contained within their boundaries. Russia was permitted to share the port at Sebastopol and there may have been other exceptions like that with all the newly independent republics. You do raise a good point though because technically Ukraine has just as much right to be inheritor of the USSR's assets as Russia.
  16. It's an open question about the future. The US cutting off intelligence support is particularly damaging most likely, but we'll see.
  17. They have tried to and I am not exaggerating. The air defenses around Kiev have become very good. The Russians have thrown everything at it.
  18. I was just stating the TSX & BMV were up yesterday.
  19. Remarkable. & what sector do you see as a good opportunity for large caps right now? Certainly not retail, tech, finance or oil & gas, but what are your thoughts? The CDM, TOR & EU bourses did fine btw.
  20. That’s exactly right. I was merely responding to the person who posited it was something else.
  21. Russia has fired missiles into Kiev & Odessa. It’s leveled scores of towns & wrecked other cities. It’s bombed schools, hospitals, residential apartment buildings, theatres, markets, malls. It has shown no restraint.

How many people did the Clintons have killed?

Thanks for the response. Fwiw I wasn’t calling Musk shadowy. I was saying claiming that shadowy figures unknown in the Deep State are subverting the release of information is getting really difficult to maintain with so many firings, elimination of multiple divisions, & the installations of Bondi, Bove, Martin, Patel & Bongino.
  23. That’s what I’m saying, yes. I don’t like linking it & IMO to the Ukrainians it’s just getting a big investment deal, but really it doesn’t matter. As for Biden, his policy was consistent with all US presidents since WW2.
  24. This is what’s so bizarre - it was Trump’s idea, it was good for America (the US has had free rein to invest before but anyway) good for Ukraine (both for the investment & the arms)… win win win win. So just do it.
  25. Change the country’s name to “Trumprovia” & change the national symbol from a soaring bird to a big “T”. The funds will flow like a waterfall of gold.
