I don’t think we’ve gotten that exactly. We’ve gotten reports he had become “political” but also distanced himself any time a political conversation came up. Kid was a gamer.

Also a head scratcher - maybe someone could be conservative - or apolitical - & a Mormon and argue Kirk’s message was hateful? Lots of assuming here. Also - he’s Mormon. The Mormons were distinctly ***NOT part of the “Christian foundations of the nation” Kirk used to like to go on about, which btw comes from pop conservatism, not actual history. If you think Mormons are on board with all that they are not. Utah has had 3rd party conservative campaigns do quite well vs Trump & Mike Lee since 2016.

So why the emphasis on his orientation & that of his maybe roommate.

Fwiw this is a young gay conservative guy & then Kirk says welcome. Which is laudable. However by the same token there is this whole premise about Robinson being gay (unknown but FTSOA) & had a gay roommate, & is automatically an extremist leftist, & therefore that equals motive, basis for hate of Kirk & maga, when obviously - per Kirk - thats a false presumption.

Ok per Gov. Cox, he lived with his parents. The apartment was a suite of 3-4 people. And even *if he was a fur-wearing gay guy with a special transitioning fella he could *still be conservative & maga supporting. Oh yes. Look at the embrace of Bruce Jenner. Is Jenner maga? Check. In fact his defense attorney - who is still handling his appeals from the judgement against him as his private attorney - also interviewed Maxwell as his DOJ appointee and arranged for a favorable improvement of her incarceration conditions.

I’m fine with it, it’s a part of journalism. There’s a whole set of guidelines to indicate what type of source is providing the information. And the FBI & DOJ has a whole set of protocols for authorizing certain persons to speak on background or anonymously. Patel himself like Comey & other FBIDir’s may even be a source. I think it’s the maga folks who’ve always been suspicious of that stuff but I’m certainly fine with it.

I’m in favor of the FBI creating a domestic terrorism unit dedicated to this. This is (was) a badly needed program. Thomas Fulgate III can even head it up.

Seriously these are options for putting it to an end: 1 State control of media. 2. Generations long modulation of society through religious & civic institutions. 3. Arrest people for certain kinds of speech. 4. Gun regulation. 5 Federal subsidization of security costs, including everything from individuals up to major corporations & state & public entities, along with taxes to pay for all that. These things would “end” it. See also, global terrorism.

I have to get on with my day. But. - The 2A exists because the Founders had to make a provision for arming itself against foreign invaders. - Also, the only administration we *ever - & I mean ever - had to worry about putting troops in our localities is this one. - 3rd, the thing with the schandenfreude from the left & Kirk’s comments is plain wrong. It’s an open debate, it’s what we do in this country. I get the point. Just like the 2A isn’t really “free”.
