It’s completely inconsistent with the supposed Trump stances on Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan & ‘forever wars.’ It’s going to cause a hell of an immigration crisis if they go all the way as well. ETA - and yes it’s straight up imperialism, smash & grab, take the resources.

But to respond, it was a *Republican Congresswoman from the Miami area stating (claiming) that the US would be invading (or toppling Maduro) for the oil. I didn’t comment on it, I just presented the video of what she was saying. I regularly used to push back on this stuff - Iraq1, Iraq 2, Syria - where liberals would claim that the US was just acting for the profit of the oil companies. Statements like that, & the behavior of this President, make that claim really hard to argue against here. About your response above, I really wish you’d said we were acting to take down an oppressive regime, restore democracy, combat narcotrafficking.
