Elon says that Trump is in the Epstein files.

Ghislaine Maxwell ‘worked with Epstein to smear Virginia Giuffre’ -
On this day in 1975, Squeaky Fromme, a follower of Charles Manson, attempted to assassinate President Ford. Manson’s whole goal was to gin up a race war. He & they failed. America will turn this corner too.

I have no problem with a president or governor or mayor or councilman or any public official working with their staff to craft an appropriate press release. In fact it’s the right way to do things. On occasion even El Jefe Naranja does it.

The martyr thing is a little islamist sounding IMO. I know that sounds odd but objectively to me that’s how it looks. And there’s a sinister ‘wave the bloody flag’ aspect to it which is very consciously driven from the high level Maga Party end. Today Trump vividly tried to link Kirk to the 9/11/01 attacks in terms of equating the murder with terrorism & an attack on the nation. And Trump views terror as a means to generate imperial emergency fiats which he believes (thanks to the USSC) gives him carts blanche to evade & supersede the Constitution.

Sorry, I meant where was the suspected caught on camera, not the picture of the shirt.

Sorry, I meant where the picture of the suspect was taken, on campus or somewhere else?

They were making light of suggesting Epstein sold a girl to Trump for $22K. The pic was taken at Maralago. Very specific & debaucherous joke with a very specific number if just a joke. -
FWIW I’ve read your posts for a long time & I don’t think you’re of ‘the left.’ But also I’ve turned a corner on this since yesterday, I think it’s very possible that the reaction in our nation will be one of unity. It seems like the main takeaway for some on the right (correctly or not) was that Kirk was about respectful debate & openly discussing faith. The main difference in this situation of course from other past events like this is the different tone in leadership.

Thanks. Anyone know where they got the pic from?

Apparently the rifle & ammo was found wrapped in a towel in the forest.

The shirt has been identified: it says, “Land of the Free, Home of the Brave.”

Supposedly the airports & bus station weren’t closed off. This guy can be anywhere.

Apparently authorities are *just now taping off the crime scene. Good lord.

Thank you.

HT I’m not fighting with you. God bless & I sincerely hope you have a good day.

Have they identified the actual gun make beyond the bolt action type?
-
Oswald used a bolt action, right? The Manlicher carbine.

James Talarico. - I linked it differently this time.

Odd, I just tried it again, it works.

Thank you.

God Bless America.

Please take a moment to watch & absorb this. TIA. - Ee might have a shot at a healing moment in this country if we grab for it.

An observation: there is a vast difference between the tone of those now lionizing Kirk & how Kirk conducted himself in debates. It would be nice to see those so lauding him also follow his example.
-
LSU used to have something called Free Speech Alley. In particular David Duke first became known by debating there in full Nazi uniform. But no one hurt each other. Other schools like UT have also had such a tradition. Nothing wrong with what Kirk was doing, but recently he was essentially a campaigner, organizer & fundraiser. Basically a campaign consultant & political activist with a youth niche & he was very valuable even instrumental to the 2024 win.

Actual normal question. No doubt it will continue, I think Kirk had a few big positives: he was a very good public speaker, he genuinely enjoyed debate with people of opposing viewpoints, but most importantly he was a true autodidact. He was very well read & self educated. Kirk had some serious hatred from the extreme right for those reasons. If the outcome of all this is the GOP wants to return to its roots in this way it would be fine.
