Players to target for Weeks 14, 15, and 16
BobSanders_33 replied to Swoboman87's topic in FFToday Board
I would remove Bowe from that list. Clevland will do a great job covering opposing #1 WRs with Haden and you have to worry about Quinn or Cassel throwing him the ball. The real buy low WR is going to be Hakeem Nicks or Andre Johnson. Right now their owners might be down on them and they have excellent match ups AJ (@NE,IND,Min) and Nicks (NO,@Atl,@Bal). Those guys have talent, schedule, and QB going for them right now. This is a good time to target AJ while he is on a buy if his owner really needs a WR this week. -
$$$ The hope of opening up Europe to the idea of buying NFL gear and TV contracts to televise games in Europe. This is horrible news because I was hoping to use Bradford this week. I won't risk that on a messy field.

JStew being made the featured back
BobSanders_33 replied to Busted by the Feds's topic in FFToday Board
First there is no team in the NFL that is going to trade for an aging RB like DWill and take on that contract. I don't think you start JStew this week, but you let him play a couple weeks to see how this plays out. The brass in Carolina have to understand that they need more "faces" to the franchise and leaders than just Cam Newton. It will be very interesting to see the transition to the power run game that this is suggesting. If that is the case then Newton's shotgun zone read option runs will be limited and I'd also assume that Tolbert will be used as the fullback to block for Newton. -
Jennings is worthless. He comes back during the playoffs and Jones/Cobb will already have their defined roles. Do you think the Packers are going to try really hard to work him into the offense when he comes back knowing that they aren't that interested in resigning him?
-
That would be like someone "buying low" on DMC after his foot injury last year. MJD may not be back all year and even if he does come back he is going to be limited.
-
I'll most likely be rolling with Josh Gordon as my #3 in a 14 team league. He is a huge boom or bust play but has more upside than your normal #3 in that league. He runs a limited route tree and as the season progresses the weather in Cleveland will probably not be the best for long balls.
-
Those are the numbers with Qbs that are twice as talented and receivers that are twice as talented and that is give Gabbert and Shorts too much credit. So if you take that 78 yard average and adjust for 1/2 the duos' talent then the equation looks something like this: 78*.5(QB)*.5(WR)= 19.5 yards.

I agree that Brown would be the starter but Wilson would be getting more work that would put a lid on Brown's value. The staff loves Wilson's play making ability but are concerned about mental errors in pass protection.

So, if Mendenhal and Redman are both out this week ...
BobSanders_33 replied to Giants Fan's topic in FFToday Board
I read that Batch might be the guy in rotoworld but I think they might be misunderstanding the situation. When Mendenhall came back Dywer moved to inactive because Mendenhall and Redman were needed at RB and Rainey and Batch were needed for special teams. Pitt could not roster all 5 backs. If Redman and Mendenhall are inactive then Dwyer is their best bet for 3 down back. -
This is a tough one that I am watching for a bye week fill in. Is there any reason that he has moved past Dwyer? I know that Dwyer was inactive the last two weeks but I believe that probably was a result of Batch being a better special team player and not being able to roster 4 backs. Batch's YPC have been pretty horrible. Unless there is something more to Dwyer's deactivation I think he is the better player.

Not sure why you think those lines on #2 WRs are good. Your talking about three top 15 WRs with three top 10 QBs throwing them the ball. Those numbers are not very impressive. I'd rather have a 6'4 burner like Gordon than a 5'8 WR like Shorts.
-
He is going to be a risky boom or bust as my WR#3 in a 14 team league but he has the ability to score points quick. How many other receivers have been blessed with so much blown coverage? The Browns brass has been known to be poor at evaluating talent but they thought he was Julio Jones with better hands. I know that is a stretch. Weeden has a decent arm to wing it and the Browns will play from behind and have to throw for somebody. When the Browns have the run game working he is dangerous on the play action pass. Of course you will have dud weeks but I'd rather have a guy that can put up 15 points than a guy like Bess that will get you 3-8 each week.
-
Not a Browns fan but I'm also rolling with J.G this week in a 14 team league due to bye weeks and injuries. I think he is a risky play because he has a low catch rate and his place in the offence hasn't been defined. The upside is that Cleveland has to throw the ball to someone and Gordon runs some deep routes where a small amount of catches can add up fast.
-
I would say yes. If you look back over the last two years whoever is the Redskins starter will put up fantasy RB1 numbers. It doesn't matter if it is Torrian, Hightower, Helu, Royster, or Morris. The guy in the backfield getting the carries will get 20 touches and 4+ yards per carry on average. Morris looks to be a great fit for the zone blocking scheme and the threat of RG3 running opens up the inside lanes. The name isn't "sexy" but the kid is in the perfect situation.
-
I like Brandon Jabobs this week as a deep flier. If the 49ers get up big or get within the 5 yard line they will give Jacobs some carries. I think he has a higher % chance of getting some goal line carries and a higher number of carriers outside of the goal line than Lane. Much less risk and higher upside with Jacobs.

I just dealt McFadden for Ryan Mathews and Joe Flacco (he already had Cam). I'm a Raiders fan and have seen enough in their games to be very scared about McFadden. #3 He is playing on a team that is having problems adjusting to the zone blocking scheme. #2 The entire offense from OL,WR,and TE have issues being able to gain yardage/create 1st downs. #1 The D can't stop people. The opposing team wins TOP keeping Oakland's O off the field/forces game plan change (fewer plays). I know he has a good schedule moving forward but Oakland has to stay in games defensively for McFadden to have a chance. Oakland's CBs are playing so poorly right now that these cherry rush D will benefit from their O putting up points and effecting the Oakland game plan.

Everyone seems to have given up on the potential of Jennings now that MJD is back. I've picked him up in both my leagues where he was put back on waivers. To me he still has the allure of a lottery ticket type player that would be very valuable if there is an injury. I'm holding him and David Wilson as two guys that would immediately become top 10-15 backs if there was an injury.

The only problem is that it will be Alfred Morris that blows up.

who's a better sleeper QB: Fitzpatrick or Locker?
BobSanders_33 replied to Haskel's topic in FFToday Board
I would also go with Locker. Fitz doesn't have that many good passing options. Locker has Britt,Cook, Wright, Washington, and CJ2K. Locker will pick up some yards and score a few TDs this year with his legs. I also agree that Fitz will have a harder time as soon as the weather conditions start to get harsh in Buffalo. -
Anything worthwhile in the Lions backfield this year?
BobSanders_33 replied to MDC's topic in FFToday Board
I would vote for a mess with nobody worth owning. Leshore is not the answer either. -
How many games do you think Rashad Jennings will start in?
BobSanders_33 replied to tennismark123's topic in FFToday Board
I'd say that he starts three and then splits time with MJD almost equally for another 2 while he gets up to speed. After that about 25% of the time maybe a little. People have to remember that MJDs monster year was partially because he had nobody else to share carries with. I see a major dip in value. -
I joined three money leagues this year and regret it. I drafted with conviction and hold some of the same players in 2/3 leagues. I hate that in two leagues I hope that Mathews misses significant time but then in one I have to hope he comes back because he is my RB2.
-
I would have to go with the total opposite. IF Turner was to go down this year Quiz' would be the clear number one with Snelling getting a little bit of time. Quiz' would really fit the no huddle spread offence. IF Gore went down the year there would be more of a timeshare with Jacobs getting short yardage and goal line, with James getting some 3rd down work. Long term I don't think that Jacobs and Gore have that much tread left on their tires and Hunter is a more complete talent.
-
Wilson has just a great feel for the game and I think he has a special ability for quick spacial reasoning. He seems to put his passes in places where only his guy can catch and he is able to make quick reads to get the ball where it needs to be. His scrambling ability would put him in the top 4 qbs in the league and in fantasy that will be a MAJOR bonus. He will get some rushing yards and some rushing TDs both by design on bootlegs and by improvising.

I'm loving me some Russell Wilson right now. He also had the largest hands for a QB in the draft and has a high release point. There are 6'4 QBs that release the ball right by their ear. To me it looks like Wilson is slinging it above his head and his balls have some heat. I think Wilson can also make plays with his feet and is very hard defend when rolling out and having the option to run or throw to three different levels.
