It’s hard to point to just one thing but: - super teams - no defense - just jacking up 3s all the time - no more rivalries I would put the year of death around the 2008-2011 timeframe. Really about the time lebron took his talents to south beach to team up with Wade and Bosh. That predated the no defense and jacking up 3s all the time, and it was the nail in the coffin for historic rivalries. So I guess the advent of super teams is my answer?
