You actually did. The entire genesis of this is you started a thread crowing about what a genius you were for renting and that all of us homeowners were suckers. When in fact the complete opposite is true
-
They don’t charge a fee, dumbo. It’s in their interest to ensure property taxes are paid because if you don’t pay them and then default on the loan, they’ll have to pay all back taxes. I swear, you guys have no basic understanding of how this stuff works

House Jan. 6 Committee deleted more than 100 encrypted files days before GOP took majority
IGotWorms replied to seafoam1's topic in The Geek Club
Why would it be covered up? Republicans have the info now, they don’t want to cover it up. They’d want that sh1t everywhere. So when it doesn’t come out — and it won’t, because it isn’t real — will you admit you’re a focking dumbass? Yes or no? -
My property taxes were $7,000 last year. So your rent would be less than $600 per month to be less than my property taxes. What kind of focking sh1thole do you live in?
-
Non answer, because you don’t focking have one

It’s false, and we’ll know it’s false when nothing ever comes of it. Will you admit you’re a focking dumbass then or just come up with some new conspiracy bullsh1t? -
You didn’t answer the question. Explain why the landlord is renting to you at less than the cost of property taxes. He would never do that. Make it make sense, peefoam

It won’t, because that’s insane. -
You claim your landlord is renting to you at less than the costs of property taxes. To say nothing of carrying costs, insurance, utilities and maintenance. Why? What’s in it for him? Just likes you so much he’s willing to lose a sh1t ton of $$ every month for you?
-
That was nuts

You’re the focking idiot that doesn’t understand basic economics. This is 101 sh1t

3 Kansas City Chiefs fans found frozen outside home of friend who had 'no knowledge' of deaths
IGotWorms replied to seafoam1's topic in The Geek Club
One guy maybe he got so sh-faced he passed out and died. But how does that happen to three people simultaneously? Must’ve been a helluva party -
The personal attacks are unnecessary, imo. But your idea that you’re paying less than the cost of property taxes is simply asinine. Your landlord passes that cost on to you along with all other costs AND an extra amount padded on top for profit. That’s the way it works. Unless it’s like a family member or something and you’re getting some insane sweetheart deal you’d never find on the open market. In which case, good for you, but obviously that isn’t going to apply to most everyone else
-
More and they all have upkeep. Difference is I’m paying to upkeep my own place whereas you’re paying to upkeep someone else’s
-
Of course they do, otherwise why would they give you a job? Same applies to your sh1tty rental. Landlord is making money off you otherwise he’d have no reason to do it. Erego you are paying all the stuff the rest of us have to pay for (carrying cost, utilities. insurance, taxes, upkeep, etc) AND you’re also tossing in a profit margin for somebody else

Yep, I agree. Dumb move, and likely illegal -

Really doesn’t have anything to do with the criminal prosecutions — that’s a whole different thing -

Yes as to the people deleting the files. But that wouldn’t change what happened on January 6 at all -

Probably stupidity more than anything. But republicans say they’ve recovered it so if it’s truly a big deal then we’ll find out -
House Jan. 6 Committee deleted more than 100 encrypted files days before GOP took majority
IGotWorms replied to seafoam1's topic in The Geek Club
I suspect this is true but only because republicans are overselling the story by implication. I mean imagine if there were documents deleted showing that Jan 6 was a setup by the FBI (there won’t be, because it wasn’t). That would come out. Trump and his allies would have absolutely no reason to keep that secret and every reason to disclose it. But like I said, they’re overselling it and most likely it’s nothing really transformative, and in that case, it’ll behoove republicans to just let people’s imaginations run wild -
This is not especially accurate imo, as the only lost “opportunity cost” is in the down payment. Otherwise, you’re still paying money for housing either way, the only question is are you fixing your costs to some extent (as with a fixed rate mortgage) and do you have an asset at the end. Those both heavily favor ownership. But the “soft” reasons for not owning (lifestyle, etc), yes that can be true depending on the person.

Somebody is going to overpay him and I sure as heck hope it’s not my Patriots. He’s a JAG, imo. Perhaps on the higher end of JAGs, but not anyone you should be investing significant assets in

Better than 1/3rd of starters still puts him around the 21st best starting QB in the league. Not good enough -
I don’t know if it’s a big problem but I have noticed in recent years that smaller stores and restaurants have become much more comfortable with closing when they just feel like it. Yes sometimes when they’re supposed to be open but sometimes even they’re stated hours are stupid. Like a fast casual restaurant in the downtown core that just doesn’t do lunch most days. Wtf? You should be trying to soak up all the business you can.
